You're friend is spot on - I just don't see how this SF team can win the WAFCON. After Ucheibe and Abiodun, there are no more credible CMs left, hence the dire need to get Emmanuel Favor in the squad. She has pace, guile and has played at a high level. I would rather someone like her, than the scrubs Madugu is trying to impose on the squad. For all intents and purposes, Ayinde is on her last legs. She no longer has the pace and if she goes down, the SF are screwed. Watching the game against Cameroon was an eyesore for me - they couldn't even string 3 es together for the first 15 mins of the game. No rhythm, no sense of purpose, no coordination. Its like they have significantly regressed since Randy left. The Achilles heal of the team, from my standpoint is a lack of a credible goalie. Nigeria will be totally screwed IF Chiamaka Nnadozie goes down. Of all the up and coming keepers of Nigerian decent, the best that the dullard Madugu has chosen to pin his hopes on is the grossly obese Linda Jiwakwu. I mean, who in their right mind would even invite such a person to the national team, for goodness sake? Honestly, I really don't see them winning the WAFCON. And that is the honest truth! With the dullard Madugu in charge, that's not going to happen. Monday Gift will be the left winger and Rinsola will be on the bench. Your #9 options listed would have been ideal - with maybe Joy Owema also. However, that's not going to happen, since Edna and Joy have yet to be ed by those buffons in the NFF. Deltamani: 1 Like |

You missed out: 1. Favour Emmanuel - midfielder (San Diego wave, US) 2. Joy Ogechukwu Owema - striker (fortuna hjorring, Denmark) Unfortunately, the ‘Edna Imade’ ship has already sailed, as she will be capped by Spain and that will be a massive loss for Nigeria, thanks to the abject stupidity of the NFF and that dullard, Madugu. Speaking of which, what is your take on Sikiratu Isah? She has played the last 4 games for Nigeria, including the French friendly and partnered Demehin in central defence? Deltamani: |

Men, this is just comical to me. I mean, how the F..k can you even compare Flo to that dullard Magudu ![]() Not just winning the WAFCON but doing it in front of a very partisan Cameroonian crowd, in Yaounde? And in front of their President. I mean, seriously? That Cameroonian team was very good at the time - second best team on the continent. Not only that, she commanded the utmost respect from her team players and even fought on their behalf when they weren't paid which cost her the head coaching role. Even Randy fought with the authorities for the ladies. Unlike this mumu magudu who is just plain dumb in my book. Please, it is sacrilege to even speak of that dummy and the great Flo Omagbemi in the same breath!!! Deltamani: 1 Like |

I am okay with us not aligning on who to apportion blame on. However, as far as I am concerned, as an insider, Madugu is part and parcel of the problem and hence, my comments. People tend to forget that Vickie is only just 18. The right thing was for the NFF to have invited her to our cadet teams - U17. But we all know how those ALWAYS turn out, considering the experiences the two young FBs ladies who were called went through. Also, Vickie's dad mentioned that at no time did the NFF reach out to the family, in spite of the numerous times she had publicly expressed her desire to play for Nigeria in honor of her late mom. Certainly, Randy cannot be blamed for choosing not to invite a 14 or 15 yr old, at the time, to the Nigeria WNT in preparation for the WWCQs and the WWC proper? lovewins: |

Edna's stat 2024/25 - 17 matches, 11 goals 2023/24 - 28 matches, 5 goals Considering the strikers we had at the time and their respective club performances in preparation for the Olympics, would you have invited Edna? Also, still waiting on your specific examples of Randy Waldrum's 'way worse decisions that badly hurt the team in the past'. mostob: |

Sorry, but common sense would have suggested that the coach use the 3 friendlies to sound out prospective players for the National team, considering we have a very serious campaign later on this year (WAFCON in July 2025). As previously stated, she was in a rich vein of form this football season and at the time of the Algerian and friendlies, was the second placed top scorer in the Spanish Liga F (arguably, the best women's football league in the world). It wasn't as if we had to wait for her to get a FIFA clearance or Naija port or anything. This girl was ready to go once called and would have jumped at the opportunity! This is about maximizing opportunities, considering the very limited number of FIFA windows available. And it's not just about cap-tying a player, but importantly, presenting them a platform to be a part of the mix during friendlies. It also demonstrates the fact that the player is recognized by Nigeria and her hard work and accomplishments have not gone un-noticed - especially IF she is deemed a great catch! Instead, that dummy and his band of Neanderthals chose to invite players who had a zero chance of making the team. It was a lost opportunity to show Naija's Intent and seriousness. That was how Vicki at Barca was lost to Spain (After Oshoala had done all the ground work for her to be a part of the SF - only for the NFF to muck it up). Now Edna. And oh, by the way, please provide us with the 'way worse decisions that badly hurt the team in the past' which Randy made. Kindly enumerate. mostob: 1 Like |

Another one bites the dust. Thanks to the abject stupidity of the NFF and the riff-raffs they put in as decision makers. They obviously never reached out to her and when that dummy Magudu had a chance to invite her for the friendlies against Algeria and , he preferred to invite nobodies who offer no value to the SF instead. What a bunch of morons! Deltamani: 3 Likes 1 Share |

Congrats to Ayooluwa Oke - NG/US Signs first pro-contract with Pachuca Femenil, MEX. s Ohale and Chiwendu at the club. Solid RB/RWB who has US U17, U20 and U23 experience. https://x.com/TuzosFemenil/status/1879376010157969627 4 Likes |

There are decent Centerbacks in the pipeline who can be groomed: * Ashleigh Plumptre * Tosin Demehin * Christy Ucheibe * Chidinma Okeke * Maureen Umeh * Isah Sikiratu * Shukura Oladipupo Not to mention a few others not mentioned here. More than enough candidates to tide Nigeria over the next 5 - 6 years. Deltamani: |

Favour is very likely going to be the next big player out of Nigeria. Solid midfielder and absolutely delighted for her. An SF midfield of JOE, Abiodun and Favour will be real exciting to watch. Hopefully, the clowns at the NFF will get a coach that will really nurture build these ladies into world class midfield that will rule Africa and hopefully the world. First step is getting rid of the imposter called Magudu and appointing a coach that knows what the heck to do. Deltamani: 3 Likes |

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to do that now, considering Edna has yet to play on the international stage. For instance, one would have thought that a player like Rinsola Babajide would have dominated in the SF, but that has yet to be the case. Conversely, having watched Esther Okoronkwo's debut here in Houston, I had no idea she would have become such a powerful force for the SF. McLeans is another one. Had high hopes, but she has been a bust so far. It's difficult to tell, at this stage Deltamani: 4 Likes |

Pretty high up, as she brings her own unique qualities. It's no small feat scoring double digits for an average club like Granada who are not one of the big clubs in Liga F. She is big (almost 6 ft), strong, has got great pace and packs a punch with both legs - very much like Mercy Akide, but a faster version. Confident she will be a great asset to the team. Congrats to Edna for getting into double digits for the season with Granada. Unfortunately, the clowns at the NFF will probably wait till she gets an invite from the Spanish team coach (coming soon) and then claim they never heard of her, thus missing out on this great opportunity to bring her into the SF fold. Oh well.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRJI8xwYt8g 2 Likes |

Delighted for Debbie! I recall having a debate here with someone on this forum a couple of years ago, who had suggested she be drafted into the SF after her exploits with Rivers Angels in the CAF WCL and the FIFA U20 WWC. I had disagreed, citing she wasn't mature yet and such a premature decision could ultimately harm her forward progress and career. I am glad Randy Waldrum was intentional enough to have been patient about her progress. This was indeed the right way you groom a very young and talented player. She is on the right trajectory and the path she has taken would hopefully be a beacon for other younger precocious talents we have. Again, massive thanks to Randy Waldrum. Nigeria will come to thank this man for building the foundation of arguably the greatest Super Falcons team of all time! Wishing Debbie all the very best and Hail to Pitt!! lovewins: 2 Likes |

This may be antithetical to your prevailing argument regarding Reno Omokri, but I don't think, in this case, that his comments were meant to 'antagonize the Igbos' or be 'tribalistic.' Again, from the context of Nigerian football, what I understood from what he said were captured in the following statements he made: '...we learn from this that where and when you were born does not matter as much as how you were raised. If you raise your child to identify with and project your culture, your offspring will grow up with a sense of self worth that makes them impossible to [be] dominated...' '...teach your children about your culture, make them proud of it...' The fact is we have a group of people (even on this forum), who harbor disdain for players wanting to don the green and white, but were born and raised in diaspora. The fact that is these kids ARE Nigerian to the core. The only difference is they were raised in an environment different from the one in Nigeria. That's all. There is always power in diversity and this is the only way Nigeria will be able to leverage and actualize its true strength and potential. Again, just a different perspective of Reno's words... As always, Bankole and his team fail when it matters the most. Keep losing the crucial games. No reason why they should have lost this game to a below average Ghanaian team. He and Danjuma are cut from the same clothe, lacking the tactical intelligence to defeat the more competitive teams. Nothing but local Champions. 2 Likes 1 Share |

If its a FIFA sanctioned friendly, then it might have an impact. I stand corrected, though. JohnBullMySon: |

Pretty obvious the ref must have been on crack or something. Same with the yellow she gave to Babajide, in the 92nd minute, where the french girl and her went for a jump ball and she decided to give her a yellow, when it was Rinsola who was pushed from behind. TheSuperNerd: 1 Like |

Katoto had a similar chance in the 1st half and botched it when going one on one with Nnadozie. Onumonu's chip was exquisite and highly intelligent. Never said she Monday did not contribute anything to the goal. But 95% of that goal was all Onumonu. Am I supposed to give her credit for giving a timely , when Onumonu was on her bike and screamed for the ? That's the very least I would expect from her as a professional playing in Spain. Or would you have expected otherwise?? ThePresenceWtf: |

You read my mind. One , in God knows how many other games where the 't was seriously stank up' by her, is the very least expected from someone who has been hyper-hyped. That goal was all Onumonu, for all intents and purposes. No need for the myopic to try and peddle alternative facts and/or misinformation. lovewins: |

Yet to see any impact of Magudu's girlfriend (Gift Monday) on the field. She's always the first player on his list, yet she ain't done nothing on the pitch. 4 Likes |

I did, thanks to bring her to my attention. Like her command of the midfield and her fight in the midfield. Also seems to have big lungs on her. Would like to see how she maps into the SF team, if able. Deltamani: 2 Likes |

Yes. They got relegated last season from the Liga F, even though she has been getting to play the full 90. I also wouldn't rule out a move for her in the next transfer window. The Spanish div. 2 is still more competitive than some of the other leagues which some of our ladies play for. Its all about testing out if she will make a good fit. daveP: 2 Likes |

Again, the abject stupidity of Magudu and the NFF comes to fore... They leave out the likes of Uchenna Kanu, Esther Okoronkwo, Nicole Payne, Chidinma Okeke, Joy Omewa, Elisha Sulola, or even Maureen Umeughochukwu (who is resident in ) and Macleans, not to mention the likes of Favour Emmanuel (Lokomotive) and Edna Imade? Wouldn't it have been cheaper to fly these players, most of whom play in Europe already, into than buying tix for them to fly from Nigeria? Shouldn't this have been the time to test out these potential players that could augment the Falcons, vs wait until tournament proper to find out if they will be a good fit? I'm pretty sure Magudu will play dumb when you mention Edna Imade's name and pretend he has never heard of her. Of course, he will be quick to invite his favorite chunky-ass keeper Unachukwu, who he invited for the Algeria friendlies. Just dumb decision making and a lack of foresight. Deltamani: 1 Like |
