23players, I will pick 3GK, 7DF, 6MF and 7FW Going to the WAFCON this should be my pick for the forwards.. I will move Ajibade to the Midfield to take up space just to accommodate more forwards but play her on the Right Wing.. And I don’t think we need any other midfielders apart from this ones 1• Halimatu Ayinde 2• Christy Ucheibe 3• Deborah Abiodun 4• Onyi Echegini 5• Toni Payne 6• Rasheedat Ajibade My 7 Forwards 1• Asisat Oshoala 2• Ifeoma Onumonu 3• Esther Okoronkwo 4• Monday Gift 5• Rinsola Babajide 6• U. Kanu/ F. Ordega/ Any better Winger from NWPL 7• Edna Imade is a must (If she changes her mind to play for Nigeria) |

▪️Asisat Oshoala, Iffy Onumonu and Edna Imade should battle for the no.9 spot ▪️Rasheedat Ajibade and anyone among this 3 Esther Okoronkwo, Monday Gift, Rinsola Babajide should be our Wingers.. ▪️Rash & Babajide as wingers for me. ▪️Monday Gift a must super sub for Babajide as a Left Winger.! 3 Likes |

solonnachi: I believe the team can garner 9 points from that group, as we don’t really know the strength of the French and Canadian teams |
Deltamani: 8:33pm On Jun 05 |
Deltamani: Again we’re going to play WAFCON, not World Cup or Olympics… We need to be ready Physically for the Power Football, that’s why Someone like Edna Imade is needed as our No.9 Instead of Onumonu as no.9, I will rather play Monday Gift or Okoronkwo who’s a bit stronger than Onumonu at No.9!! And again we need Ayinde back in that Midfield. |

You missed out: 1. Favour Emmanuel - midfielder (San Diego wave, US) 2. Joy Ogechukwu Owema - striker (fortuna hjorring, Denmark) Unfortunately, the ‘Edna Imade’ ship has already sailed, as she will be capped by Spain and that will be a massive loss for Nigeria, thanks to the abject stupidity of the NFF and that dullard, Madugu. Speaking of which, what is your take on Sikiratu Isah? She has played the last 4 games for Nigeria, including the French friendly and partnered Demehin in central defence? Deltamani: |

Sorry is there any problem between Ashleigh Plumpter and NFF?

solonnachi: No problem whatsoever |

AkinDS: I chose not to include favour Emmanuel simply because she plays same Defensive Midfield or Box-2-Box just as Ayinde, Ucheibe and Abiodun who are already trusted legs and she’s currently struggling for minutes at San Diego Waves which made her terminate her contract few days ago..! To create the balance I had to move Ajibade to the Attacking Midfield position to balance things.. 3/3 Ayinde, Ucheibe and Abiodun then Echegini, Payne and Ajibade even though she’s to play from the right flank. |

I had an over 40Minutes conversation with my Friend over the phone concerning the WAFCON.. We argued a lot and he said we don’t have Defenders and midfielders that can stop the likes of Barbara Banda, Rachael Kundananji, Mupopo etc if we’re to meet Zambia 🇿🇲.. I was like what is Ucheibe and Co doing in the midfield?. Again we talked about Ayinde too, and he said Ayinde will likely play with a lot of caution because of the series of injuries she has gone through..! And he said Ucheibe performs better with Ayinde in Midfield that if paired with Abiodun she struggles. |

Many people criticized Blessing for reporting to camp days after her husband departed this world. Watched her interview and all I can say is hasty conclusion is very harmful. Turned out the call up came before her husband's death. According to her, the husband has been praying for her to get a call up and wear the badge one day. So she reported to camp just to fulfill his wish. Unfortunately, the man who was so happy when she get called up was not there to watch her play. May God give her strength through this hard time. 2 Likes |

With the dullard Madugu in charge, that's not going to happen. Monday Gift will be the left winger and Rinsola will be on the bench. Your #9 options listed would have been ideal - with maybe Joy Owema also. However, that's not going to happen, since Edna and Joy have yet to be ed by those buffons in the NFF. Deltamani: 1 Like |

You're friend is spot on - I just don't see how this SF team can win the WAFCON. After Ucheibe and Abiodun, there are no more credible CMs left, hence the dire need to get Emmanuel Favor in the squad. She has pace, guile and has played at a high level. I would rather someone like her, than the scrubs Madugu is trying to impose on the squad. For all intents and purposes, Ayinde is on her last legs. She no longer has the pace and if she goes down, the SF are screwed. Watching the game against Cameroon was an eyesore for me - they couldn't even string 3 es together for the first 15 mins of the game. No rhythm, no sense of purpose, no coordination. Its like they have significantly regressed since Randy left. The Achilles heal of the team, from my standpoint is a lack of a credible goalie. Nigeria will be totally screwed IF Chiamaka Nnadozie goes down. Of all the up and coming keepers of Nigerian decent, the best that the dullard Madugu has chosen to pin his hopes on is the grossly obese Linda Jiwakwu. I mean, who in their right mind would even invite such a person to the national team, for goodness sake? Honestly, I really don't see them winning the WAFCON. And that is the honest truth! AkinDS: Joy only needs call up as she was born here in Nigeria, Played for the local clubs here eg Confluence Queen and was a regular with the Youth National Team before moving to Denmark 🇩🇰 earlier on… |
Deltamani: 7:05am On Jun 07 |
AkinDS: How do you see Michelle Alozie? She seems to have gotten better in Defense. I wish she would play more as a Defender for her clubside as well… |

I knew something was wrong. Ashleigh Plumpter was not invited to play in the last friendly. It is not normal....

lovewins: 4:00pm On Jun 07 |
solonnachi: Not sure what's up with Ashleigh but if your source is Facebook then you are far from the truth. These pages literally clone popular people, assume their identity and post as them. Then posit conspiracy theories to generate traffic. As you can see the allegation has no source. Please ignore. 1 Like |

solonnachi: Who says she was ignored? Was Kanu ignores too? Oshoala? Gift Monday? You are making assumptions based on false premise Point is, prior to now, Ashleigh's absence from the team has been personal as she asked to be excused for some time. Not sure what happened this occasion, but it's possible she asked to be excluded. 4 Likes |

isan:I certainly understand team chemistry much better than you I didn’t initially plan to respond to your uncivilized remark but maybe I should educate or engage you today Hypothetical situation: If Ajibade gets injured in the middle of the tournament, is Nigerias journey over ? Over reliance on one player is very bad It appears she’s the sole forward with threatening goal instinct at the moment If we had 2 or 3, it would’ve been better Appears the team goes to her to make things happen most times Football is a team sport |

Great player, but... She is no spring chicken, as she is not young - she just turned '30' in May 2025. Not to mention her being very injury prone. For Nigeria, we need to have at least four (4) options that can be counted upon, without degradation in quality or performance. Halimatu Ayinde, Christy Ucheibe, Debbie Abiodun and then who? The next candidate that can play at their level, for me, is Favour Emmanuel (if you consider the experience and the mentality to play that position). That way, the team doesn't have to be over-reliant on Halimatu and she can be fit and available to last the 6 or 7 games in a major tournament. Deltamani: |

Osasu posted this moments ago. There are strong indications this is about the Super Falcons. Again, not exactly surprising, but saddening all the same.

lovewins: Of course is about the Super Falcons… Who isn’t aware of Madugu illegal doings?? The team just need a better head coach who won’t be selling slots instead doing his or her job of inviting the best and well deserved players.: 1 Like |
