This may be antithetical to your prevailing argument regarding Reno Omokri, but I don't think, in this case, that his comments were meant to 'antagonize the Igbos' or be 'tribalistic.'
Again, from the context of Nigerian football, what I understood from what he said were captured in the following statements he made:

'...we learn from this that where and when you were born does not matter as much as how you were raised. If you raise your child to identify with and project your culture, your offspring will grow up with a sense of self worth that makes them impossible to [be] dominated...'

'...teach your children about your culture, make them proud of it...'

The fact is we have a group of people (even on this forum), who harbor disdain for players wanting to don the green and white, but were born and raised in diaspora. The fact that is these kids ARE Nigerian to the core. The only difference is they were raised in an environment different from the one in Nigeria. That's all.
There is always power in diversity and this is the only way Nigeria will be able to leverage and actualize its true strength and potential.

Again, just a different perspective of Reno's words...

JohnBullMySon:

You don't need to post these kinds of crap here. That guy always writes these kinds of so-called facts with mischievous intentions behind it.

Osimhen and Asissat wore suits last year and no one had an issue with it. That dude is notorious for always trying to antagonize igbos with micheviously curated 'facts'. It's all tribal BS that needs to be left with him and his followers.

If we start posting stuff like this, very soon you'll have people here subtly hate a player or the other because of tribe.

Happy new year Folks.
I know we've got WAFCON coming up mid year.
Looking forward to the 3 to 6 friendlies before then.

Any Age grade national team games coming up too?
Of course our Nigerian female league. What's up with that?

Then of course all the updates from our players scattered all over the globe. A lot of us already do a good job here covering that.

2025 be good!

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has officially appointed Nora Hauptle as the new head coach of the Copper Queens.

This announcement marks a new chapter for the national team, which has been striving for greater success on the international stage. Hauptle, who previously led the Black Queens of Ghana, brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the team.

Hauptle’s appointment comes at a crucial time as the Copper Queens prepare for international competitions. With her extensive background in coaching at various levels, she is expected to implement innovative strategies and training regimens that will enhance the team’s performance. FAZ officials expressed confidence in Hauptle’s ability to lead the squad and inspire the players to reach their full potential.

Under Hauptle’s guidance, the Copper Queens aim to build on their recent successes and improve their standing in women’s football. The three-year deal signifies FAZ’s commitment to investing in the team’s future and fostering a winning culture. Hauptle’s track record with the Black Queens, where she achieved notable milestones, has set high expectations for her tenure in Zambia.

The appointment has been met with enthusiasm from fans and players, who are eager to see how Hauptle will shape the team’s dynamics and performance. Her vision for the Copper Queens includes not only tactical improvements but also a focus on player development and mental resilience. This holistic approach is expected to cultivate a stronger, more cohesive team ready to take on the challenges ahead.

As the Copper Queens embark on this new journey with Nora Hauptle at the helm, the football community in Zambia is abuzz with anticipation. The team’s matches will serve as a litmus test for Hauptle’s strategies and the players’ adaptability under her leadership.

Yeah I believe in what he says, but I know reno's posts well enough to decipher his true intentions. He likes to create false juxtapose. He's full of crap.

I'm guessing what made this even more irresistible is the new CBA agreement that eliminate college drafts. What this means is that Rookies are now allowed to negotiate with preferred teams like every other free agents. It's why Debbie could sign for the Washington Spirit.

If the draft existed, the worst teams (except for a trade) drafts first. Sometimes, players with eligibility would prefer to stay in college than go to a poor team or a team that would harm their development. With the draft out of the way, players can choose what team to sign for and this makes leaving college early a lot more enticing.

Delighted for Debbie!

I recall having a debate here with someone on this forum a couple of years ago, who had suggested she be drafted into the SF after her exploits with Rivers Angels in the CAF WCL and the FIFA U20 WWC. I had disagreed, citing she wasn't mature yet and such a premature decision could ultimately harm her forward progress and career.

I am glad Randy Waldrum was intentional enough to have been patient about her progress. This was indeed the right way you groom a very young and talented player. She is on the right trajectory and the path she has taken would hopefully be a beacon for other younger precocious talents we have. Again, massive thanks to Randy Waldrum. Nigeria will come to thank this man for building the foundation of arguably the greatest Super Falcons team of all time!

Wishing Debbie all the very best and Hail to Pitt!!

Lol u want to rewrite history bah? I was the one u had the debate with and u didn't say anything about the decision harming her progress, u just said she wasn't good enough. Even during the U20s, u made a slick comment because Chioma Olise took her spot in that one match.

As for Randy, it was a 50/50 situation. He got to bring in a player that ended up being one of the best recruits in the nation, while Deborah got to play in the national team. Let's not forget she played at a World Cup before ever playing in the NCAA. I think she pushed it by staying there an extra season but we thank God that she has ed a top club.

So who is going to be the new manager for Falcons? Should we expect a female coach this time? I think the men have got a long run for almost a decade. There are a handful of quality female managers to select from.

Lol 😂

NFF never spoke about a new Coach. All they said was the team will prepare well for the WAFCON and as it stands Madugu is the team head Coach..!

Wish we can go for a Dutch or Spanish Coach.. Then bring in Mercy Akide Udoh and Ayisat Yusuf Aromire or Perpetua Nkwocha as assistants..!

The pattern is waiting until the interim coach fumbles. If we had lost big to we would have a new coach by now.
