chidiokay: Atiku and obi ticket will remove tinubu even before the day of election. Atiku and obi had over 13million votes in the last election while tinubu had a falsified votes of just about 7million. Tinubu has failed woefully in this first term which will even make it far easier to be voted out. If OBi knows what is good for him he should team up witt Atiku or not bother contesting at all. |

AntiMarxist: In option A4 it is almost impossible to select a wrong queue and infact it is far less prone to errors as seen in thumbprinting where many votes were voided due to thumb printing errors. Come to think of it, Are we not tired in this country when it comes to voting for nothing? Dont you want a true government by the people? I honestly think this is the best way forward and without transparency in our electoral system, Nigeria will remain stagnant for ever. |

There was a time when Michael had nothing but dreams. No money, no status but just raw ambition and a heart full of fire. In that season of his life, there was Ama. Ama wasn’t flashy. She didn’t have wealth or powerful networks. But she had something far rarer...faith. Faith in Michael, even when he doubted himself. She stayed through the silent nights when failure felt loudest. She lent him her last when he couldn’t pay his rent, and even more often, she lent him her strength. She was home when life felt like war. Years ed, and things changed, not overnight, but steadily. Michael got a chance meeting with Zara. Zara was light years ahead. A woman of influence, class, and undeniable charm. She saw potential in Michael and had the keys to open doors he hadn’t even knocked on yet. With her connections and resources, his career soared. In just two years, Michael became the man he once only dreamed of becoming. But with success came a dilemma: he could only choose one to walk with him through the rest of his life. Ama still loves him but no pressure, no demands. She had only ever wanted his happiness and Zara also loves him. One woman built him slowly, brick by brick. The other elevated him swiftly, like a jet taking flight. So the question is...If you are in Michael's situation, who will you go for? Ama who stood by you when you had nothing or Zara who made you wealthy? 9 Likes 1 Share |

semuni: Interesting. Would you mind explaining why you think an option that produced the freest and fairest election in Nigeria history is invalid? Intellectuals always give reasons to their point. |

Have you ever wondered why the June 12, 1993 election is celebrated as the freest and fairest in our nation's history? It’s largely due to the innovative electioneering process employed, rather than solely because the winner was immensely popular. Nigeria has experimented with various electioneering processes in its democratic journey, yet electoral fraud, vote buying, and violence persist. Among these methods, Option A4 stands out as a credible and transparent system that ensures electoral integrity. Introduced during the 1993 general elections under the istration of General Ibrahim Babangida, this system promoted openness, ability, and fairness in the voting process. Given Nigeria's electoral challenges, re-adopting Option A4 is the only way forward for a sustainable democracy. Understanding Option A4 Option A4 is a unique open-ballot voting system where voters physically queue behind their preferred candidates or party representatives at polling stations. This method eliminates the secrecy of the ballot but enhances transparency by ensuring that every vote is counted openly. The process follows these steps: 1. Voters before the election. 2. On election day, voters queues behind the candidate of their choice, as indicated by candidate posters. 3. Electoral officers physically count and record the number of people in each queue. 4. The results are announced at the polling station and then forwarded to higher electoral authorities.. Advantages of Option A4 1. Transparency and Credibility: Because votes are tallied in the open, this method minimizes the risk of ballot stuffing, vote rigging, and manipulation of results. 2. Reduction in Electoral Violence: Unlike secret ballot systems that can be skewed in favor of certain candidates, Option A4 discourages tampering, thereby reducing post-election violence. 3. Elimination of Vote Buying: With voters openly declaring their choices, politicians find it much harder to purchase votes, rendering such efforts ineffective. 4. Faster Result Compilation: The public counting of votes at polling stations speeds up the result announcement process, eliminating delays that often lead to disputes. 5. Increased Voter Participation: The process is straightforward and easy to understand, encouraging higher voter turnout, especially among those with lower literacy levels. 6. Eliminates Huge Budget for Electioneering Process: Since votes are counted openly, expensive electronic voting devices like BVAS are unnecessary, reducing election costs and minimizing corruption within the electoral body. 7. Eliminating Post-Election Tribunal Battles: With results declared openly at polling units, the chances of electoral disputes and prolonged court battles over rigged elections are significantly reduced, discouraging a “go to court” mentality among politicians. 8. Promotes Inclusivity: When every vote truly counts, many well-meaning Nigerians are encouraged to enter politics, confident that their votes won’t be disregarded. 9. Promotes Effective Governance: When an elected leader knows that real power lies with the electorate, they are more likely to provide effective leadership; conversely, if they can attain office without genuine votes, they may act without ability. 10. Ensures the Progress of the Country: No country can move forward if its democratic process is constantly rigged, and a compromised democracy is worse than a military coup. Despite its benefits, Option A4 presents challenges such as intimidation, fear, and privacy concerns. However, the advantages carry significantly more weight, and I believe that with adequate security measures and vigilant monitoring, coercion can be minimized to ensure fair representation. Conclusion While no electoral system is perfect, Option A4 presents a strong case for a transparent, fair, and credible electioneering process especially in in Nigeria. Its ability to prevent electoral fraud, curb vote buying, reduce corruption, and eliminate prolonged post-election tribunal disputes makes it a suitable choice for the country’s evolving democracy. If complemented with robust security measures and voter education, Option A4 could revolutionize Nigeria's electoral system. To ensure a truly sustainable democracy, Nigeria must embrace Option A4 as the only viable path forward. According to a folk saying, "It is much easier to wake someone who is truly asleep than to awaken one who’s merely pretending to sleep." Our leaders know what needs to be done but have refused to act. However, if we unite under one voice and demand that this option be adopted, we will undoubtedly liberate Nigeria from those intent on stalling progress in this great country. I hope this makes sense.

ufotunang: Regardless, the constitution reigns supreme and not even the repeal act of 2018 can override the constitution which made it crystal clear that an elected governor can only be removed by impeachment or death/incapacitation. Jonathan declared state of emergency but never removed or suspended the state governors. Let us be reasonable biko. Please ignore Reno, he is only doing the job he is paid to do. |

Reno and his pseudo intelligence. Laws and regulations are similar in several ways. Both laws and regulations are legally binding rules that govern behavior and provide standards for society. They aim to maintain order, protect rights, and ensure fairness. While laws are created by legislatures and provide the broad framework, and regulations are crafted by government agencies to detail how those laws should be implemented and enforced, both ultimately serve the same purpose of guiding conduct and are enforceable through the legal system. But then , why is he trying so much to shift the focus from the gross misconduct of Tinubu removing an elected president to the talks of laws and regulations. This reno is a clown. He obviously feels Nigerians are dmb. What a shameless clueless fellow. 1 Like |

Lamasta: Tell trump to be sincere and tell the world kif he has never hired illegal immigrants before. https://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/documents/rubio-campaign-press-release-fact-check-donald-trump-used-illegal-immigrants-build-trump |

Lamasta: Let me lecture you a bit. Every country has a route to integration and this is a way of giving illegal immigrants a soft landing because they know it will be ludicrous for them to start deporting people simply because they are illegal especially when they are not a threat to the country. UK has the following routes whereby you can integrate into the system. 1. If you live in UK continuously for 20years. 2. If you are in a durable partnership with a Briton or one who has ILR 3. If you have a child with British citizen or one with LR 4. If you are coparenting a minor child with a british c. 5. IF you have a child that is not british but teh child has stayed in uk for 7years 6. If you come into the country with a minor below the age of 21 or 18 and the child has stayed in the uk for 7 years 7. If you are seriously ill and going back to your country will be counter productive 8. Asylum I cant exhaust all the options.... Now do you know what this means? It simply means that hypothetically speaking, most if not every illegal immigrant will at a point be legal resident. Now there is what is called immigrant's job which the citizens or those with rights to work will rarely do and these jobs are actually the strong force in booming any economy of the country. Did you listen to what that lady bishop told him? Mark my word, Americans should brace up for food scarcity or increase in food prices cos thise immigrants working in the farms, milking the cows and same undocumented immigrants that allegedly built trump estate empires will start hiding and there will be nobody to do those jobs most americans will never do. Just mark my words |

Trump is acting like an educated illiterate. Diplomacy is key. and mark my word. He will inadvertently bring hardship on Americans cos those people he is harassing are exactly those helping America economy. Imagine the power drunkard banning child citizen by birth, something he happens to be a beneficiary. He is running America as if he is running his personal company. |

Abbeycharles: lol There was never a time i encouraged men to cheat on their wives because the word cheat is not ideal. On the contrary, asides several topics i wrote on, i persistently advised ladies to be of value to themselves and the man in their lives, to understand that men are polygamous by nature except the man just chooses to go against his nature and lastly, to advise people not to be caught dead without having Jesus as lord and saviour.
