I think it completely depends on what she can afford or prefers although I would rather she lived alone cos i enjoy us times and if she has room mates that will be difficult except when she comes to my place. So it all depends on a lot sha

A lady graduated from Unijos and got a job in a law firm in Lagos. She knows no one there. Where should she stay? Or should she let go of the job offer?

A lady runs a thriving business. As a way to reward/spoil herself, she gets the latest iPhone. Is that a bad thing to do as a spinster?

I'm genuinely curious to read your response.
Depends on the ladies desires and objectives. The OP made some valid secret points that the males use to evaluate potential wife materials. The world as we know it does not thrive on truth but rather on hypocrisy . So ur choices are valid depending on what u want

I'm also from Imo State, honestly your observation is right. It has become obvious. The two Imo lady I wanted to date turned me down because I don't have better money

You forgot the most important point.

Breathing oxygen.
My sister, if you breathe oxygen to sustain your existence, cancel all hope of becoming somebody’s wife. The worst part of this situation is if you exhale carbon dioxide. Spinsterhood will remain your destiny.
grin grin grin
What a sarcasm!

They are always out there waiting for abroad husband. Even at the age of 35 they are still waiting for already made men to come and marry them. According to them those men are called Odogwu by them. If you complain they will tell you to go and make money first. They detest home based guys as in they hate home based guys. Our last born don finally get sense now, after she has waited for abroad based husband for so long. Now she wants to settle down with home based guy. She's almost 34 yrs now. I don't know what is wrong with Imo state women and their obsession with abroad based guys and already made men. You can still get married to home based guy here, it's possible you both can still travel out someday when money comes.

So you are my brother, i greet you o my bro

You're right, I have two sisters, not yet married.....
Honestly I regretted dating Imo State girls, I would have gotten married at the age of 34yrs, the two ladies were not serious with me, I was thinking it was my problem until I sat down and think everything over again before I realised that it is not my problem, just that I met two wrong ladies that values material things more. As it stands, nothing concise me and Imo State ladies again.

I am married and happy lol. To a foreigner who isn't expecting me to stop breathing because I have to get married. You guys need to grow up. You are not the standard.

Nobody told any woman to stop breathing. They just said most men looking for relationships don't find certain things attractive. But you women, will always come and argue with men about what they want. Jesus! Allow us have our standards please.

And as for your foreigner husband, may God have mercy on his soul.

This one don vex oh. Avoid her. 😂

She think say things wey the guy dey talk na play. Some things wey the OP listed dey valid.

- Leg chain
- Eye lashes like ostrich etc

Na olosho vibe for me o! No matter how beautiful the lady may be, omo, I no fit marry her.

Uncle use common sense na

It is the optics of the thing. If a young woman is single and lives alone, there's a good chance that she'd be more prone to engaging in certain... activities. Now is that the case for all single women who live alone? No. But again, it's the optics. If a woman is single and lives alone, she has the freedom to be a hoe and engage in hoe activities however she likes. But does that always mean she's going to be a hoe? No.

And as for the expensive phones, It's the optics once more. The issue is that if she doesn't have a job and she's using a very expensive phone, most people are gonna to assume a guy bought it for her. Could be a sugar daddy or it could just be from hook-up work. OR, it could be her father or brother.
Again, it's the optics.
Based on your comments and the OP's explanation, it boils down to hasty generalisation. Men should ask questions before assuming. People should not apply their circles' behaviours towards others. This is why it is important for people to marry within their social classes. It solves many issues.

P.S. OP did not factor in if she has a good job or a job at all. He just stated that single women should not live alone. That is balder.dash!

Amen to your prayers.
You can have your standards without being condescending. No one said you shouldn't. And these are not standards for all men. Just some Nigerian men with their myopic way of thinking.

Some men love their woman smoking, drinking, fixing long nails and lashes, doing bbl, wearing leg chain and nose ring. Infact they encourage their girlfriends to do these things though. Talking from experience.
Those men are woodlums.

I want to believe that the OP doesn't mean the above.

If your daughter OP was to go abroad for her studies, and she gets an apartment of hers where she lives alone upon graduation....and a worthy man will classify her as wayward......

This also applies if she were to be in Nigeria.

My younger sister lives alone (she moved out at 23), I went with her to cover an event this weekend which is her side hustle. There's no way you can call her irresponsible if you meet her sir. I know how many guys are in my DM asking me to link them to her.

Babe you don't get it.. he said in the naija clime...

See alot of naija ladies hate to share bills with hubby in naija, but gladly do it abraod with the same man... There is a naija behavior and issues when u are in naija...

He is 100% right in all he listed

Trust me i respect women a lot, and i care so much with my tender heart. I respect women's feelings etc. You just have to forge ahead and forget about what had happened in the past in your life. Everyone is not the same. Give it a try again. I promise you, you won't regret
