Good day everyone, I have a question, please. If you have a parent who has traveled on a super visa before, did you need to buy a return ticket, or was a one-way ticket okay? I cannot book a return ticket for her length of stay. My mum will be traveling via KLM. Thank you. |

I'm not sure if I saw this earlier and said thanks. My apologies if I didn't. THANK YOU!

Hi everyone. I need your help, please. For someone considering taking the TEF exam and trying to decide between Alliance Francaise and IEF, what would your recommendations be, please? This person is not very buoyant financially and is trying to decide based on affordability, ease of taking classes, and success rates. This person also plans to take only A1 to A2 with either of these providers and then switch to a private tutor for the B classes. I need your advice please, to help the person. Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone, For someone that plans to take the TEF exams to boost CRS scores, is it best practice for the person to take in-person classes at an institution like Alliance Francaise or another similar one first OR can the person skip that and go with a personal tutor and self-directed learning from the beginning? The person I am enquiring for is a beginner, with no knowledge of French at all. He is giving himself a target of 10 months. Do you think it is feasible for a beginner that plans to use a personal tutor and put in the time to study as well? Thanks in anticipation of your responses. |

Good afternoon everyone. Thanks for all the insights on page 1. It's been helpful so far. I need help with a few questions, please. I'm about to embark on this journey for my younger brother and I need some guidance. For some background, my brother studied Computer Science, got a 2:2. He also has an Advanced Diploma in Biz but he owns a shoes and leather products business. He is planning to study a course in Managemenet or something else business related. Can a diploma or graduate certificate fly if we don't include his Advanced Diploma qualification? If and when he gets ission from a school in Canada, would it be possible for me to provide my bank statements as proof that I will be bearing his living costs here in Canada? I live here in Canada and I am a citizen. Would it raise a red flag if I provide my bank statements showing funds in of his application? My dad and I will be tly funding his tuition fees but we are not sure if all these would fly. My brother currently owns his own business but he doesn't have enough funds for funding the process. The expectation is that we would seek for the ission at a college close to my house, he will stay with me and I would bear his living costs. Also, I see that a lot of people here are processing their visas themselves and have been successful. I'm going this route too and I'm hoping that I can do it too without needing an agent or consultant. Thank you in anticipation of your responses. |

Just a note on the bolded text. It is really not a mandatory requirement when applying for citizenship. If you have a post-secondary qualification in English, you will still be eligible. If you can demonstrate that your university or college education was awarded in English language, then you don't need to submit IELTS. I'm a citizen now, so I'm talking from the experience of others that I know that went through this route at the same time as me. I used my EE IELTS but some others that didn't take IELTS during theirs used their degree certificate. It's even written in the list of requirements. Just putting it out there for anyone who is worried about this.

How can I send you a private message to give you my other email address? That email address is having issues with authentication. I can't receive new messages.

My sentiments exactly. I want to play it safe with Ethiopian Airlines. My question is, if IRCC is saying they won't give authorization for immediate family, where should family now get the letter to travel with? Why can't airlines understand this? All this confusion is annoying.

Lufthansa does not require a transit visa if you are not leaving the airport or flying through any other location other than Frankfurt from Nigeria. The layover I saw for Frankfurt is 3hrs, 10 mins. The longest was 7hrs. ET is usually 2hrs 45mins or so. I am planning for July as well.

So far, Lufthansa is cheaper on my mum's intended flight date. My hesitation stems from what happened with my dad's BA ticket last year. The ticket is still on hold because BA is refusing to fly engers other than citizens and PRs. It was cheaper than ET by almost 100k when I booked it last year but since the start of the pandemic, it has been on hold. Awoof is running my belle right now. I am waiting to rebook when they lift restrictions. At this point, I am tilting towards ET cos come rain, come shine, they will most likely fly

Hi, Does anyone have suggestions on good and affordable airlines flying from Lagos to Toronto at the moment please? I am torn between Lufthansa and Ethiopian Airlines but prices are not smiling. I know summer travel dates are crazy but any help on options is appreciated. PS: The flight is for my mum, so I am particular about shorter layovers. Thank you. |

Hi, I'd say that the documents you submit for every application will differ for every applicant. Even a particular applicant might need different documents at the time of applying depending on the circumstances. There is also no way to ensure that your application is approved. I will advise you strongly demonstrate her ties to Nigeria as much as you can and also highlight the funds available for the trip. Do what you can to submit a good application and If you believe in prayer, pray and hope for the best. For me, I submitted the following: 1. Introduction letter from my mum's employer 2. Employment docs 3. Educational docs 4: Tax certificate 5. 3 months payslips 6. Salary statement 7. Purpose of travel letter (Demonstration of ties & Budget breakdown for the trip was included in this letter) 8. Introduction letter from me and my spouse (we sponsored the trip) I highlighted our funds and her ties back home in these letters too. 9. My mum's saving statement 10. Bank statement from me and my spouse showing funds 11. Photograph 12. Nigerian port 13. Application form IMM5257E 13. Family information form IMM5465 14. Proof of relationship with me 15. PR Cards (Spouse & I) 16. Client Information letter highlighting all the submitted docs 17. Marriage Certificate/Change of name affidavit (Her education & Work docs were in her maiden name) 18. Birth certificates for all my siblings (To demonstrate ties) 19. Flight reservation 20. Employment letters from me and my spouse including payslips This is all I can for now, but I think it pretty much covered it for us. Cheers. mumayo: 5 Likes 5 Shares |

Thank you. On Tuesday I got this email: Your application, tracking ID No. xxxxxxxx is in transit and has been dispatched to the IRCC Office through the Canada Visa Application Centre, Lagos Office, on 3/23/2021 2:26:10 PM for processing After no update on my , I sent a mail on Thursday, I got this response this morning: Your application, tracking ID No. xxxxxx has been received at the Canada Visa Application Centre, Abuja OC on 3/26/2021 10:46:57 AM and is in transit to the IRCC Office in Abuja OC for processing. So I was confused on what both mails meant. Does it mean, they sent the port from Lagos VFS to Abuja VFS after the initial mail said it has already been sent to IRCC Lagos? I chatted with an agent and the agent said the port was sent to the Abuja embassy. I don't know which information to go with now. Is Canada Visa Application Centre, Abuja OC the same as IRCC Office in Abuja? There is no update on the GCKey yet. Is this the type of mail you got? maziude: |

Hi, Does anyone have an idea of how long it takes from when VFS Lagos sends you a notification that your port has been dispatched to the IRCC office to when you actually get an update on your GCKey please? So, basically, time from VFS dispatch till IRCC gets your port. Mine was sent on Tuesday, tracking still shows in transit. Thank you. |

Hi Omua, How did you get tracking number from VFS? Was your port sent to Lagos or Abuja? Omua4: |

Hi Maziude, Did you send your mum's port via UPS or DHL to VFS Lagos? I sent my mum's own via UPS to VFS Lagos on the 12th and it showed that it was delivered to VFS on the 15th of this month. I have no way of knowing if VFS has sent it out. I am worried cos the 30 days timeline given by the request letter is fast approaching. How many days from when you submitted through courier (if you used one) till when you saw the update on the IRCC ? Thanks. maziude: |
