Did you send your mum's port via UPS or DHL to VFS Lagos? I sent my mum's own via UPS to VFS Lagos on the 12th and it showed that it was delivered to VFS on the 15th of this month. I have no way of knowing if VFS has sent it out. I am worried cos the 30 days timeline given by the request letter is fast approaching. How many days from when you submitted through courier (if you used one) till when you saw the update on the IRCC ? Thanks.

Update:

We sent mumsy PP last week Friday to Lagos VFS.

It got there 2 days ago.

Today we got an email that it arrived at VFS Abuja and another email that it was being sent to IRCC. 1 hour later we got an email that the port is with IRCC and under processing.

I guess, Lagos is backed up, hence the need for Abuja.


UpDate: I just checked gckey now, there is a document number and expiry date. I guess port is stamped.

When we sent to VFS uS on a Friday. It got there on Monday. VFS sent us a mail with a tracking number that they received it that same Monday and are processing it for dispatch.
On Wednesday, I tracked it and found that it was sent to VFS Abuja. Those guys received it on Friday and sent to Embassy that same Friday.

I checked her cic that Friday, her updated with the visa number and shows approved.

So it took a week from when we sent to VFS Lagos for the approval to show on her .

My mum just received her port back today ( UPS laziness to locate her address for 1 week, lol).


Go to VFS website and click on the chat button. It is faster and they respond sharply.

I'm not in a hurry to bring her in but just want to throw in her application until IRCC gets back to their normal self

Who exactly asked you to pay such an amount? Canadian biometrics is $85 CAD.(less than N40,0000.)

PS: All those booking/traveling agents are just scammers looking for who to exploit.

It depends on which office it was sent to. My mum’s port was sent from VFS Lagos to VFS Abuja then to IRCC. It took roughly 5-7 days for it to get to IRCC Abuja. The same morning it got there was when her cic was updated as approved. Also the port was dispatched back to VFS that same day.

After no update on my , I sent a mail on Thursday, I got this response this morning: Your application, tracking ID No. xxxxxx has been received at the Canada Visa Application Centre, Abuja OC on 3/26/2021 10:46:57 AM and is in transit to the IRCC Office in Abuja OC for processing.

So I was confused on what both mails meant. Does it mean, they sent the port from Lagos VFS to Abuja VFS after the initial mail said it has already been sent to IRCC Lagos? I chatted with an agent and the agent said the port was sent to the Abuja embassy. I don't know which information to go with now. Is Canada Visa Application Centre, Abuja OC the same as IRCC Office in Abuja? There is no update on the GCKey yet. Is this the type of mail you got?

There won’t be any update until IRCC receives it. Visa application centre is same as VFS.

When it gets to VFS Abuja, they would send it to IRCC. You should see update on gckey next week.


And don’t worry about the deadline, like I said earlier it automatically renews for another 30/60/90 days due to covid.

I really need help..a friend pay an agent money to do Canada student visa for her.. she only did biometric since November and get mail from Canada that they have received her application .. with the little document with her I track it but no record found.. can anybody clarify me how to identify if it’s a scam..is this how everybody wait for interviews/mail from Canada
