Oh wow, what a brilliant analysis! So the grand solution to Nigeria’s problems is simply swapping leadership regions? Genius! Because, of course, every southern leader has turned their states into Dubai and Singapore overnight. The North should totally just sit back and take leadership lessons from the same people who have magically eliminated poverty, crime, and corruption from their own backyards.

This commentary is a most uncharitable spin of history!
The speaker had noted a fault in SLS statement, and that is the fact that the "Emirate" as noted by Sanusi is not even up to a quarter of the purported 1000 years!

Now, if you want to be the circumspect historian that you want us to believe, I think you should be deft enough to separate the shaft from the grain by distinguishing between What is Kano Emirate and What was Kano Rulership
Google should be your friend, learn how to use it.

The Kaduna State government's peace deal is a sham. Despite the agreement, kidnappings continue, and the government's response has been inadequate. Governor Uba Sani's decision to pardon 'repentant' terrorists is appeasement, not a solution. The rehabilitation program for bandits is flawed, ignoring the socioeconomic drivers of violence. The government's intolerance for criticism is also concerning. A more robust approach is needed to address the root causes of violence, rather than relying on half-measures.

I agree that Togo ing the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) is a viable option. It could bring significant benefits, particularly in maritime cooperation and trade with landlocked AES countries. A smart move

Itaekuson3:
NORTHERN GOVERNORS DEMAND CHANGE, WANT ENGLISH LANGUAGE REPLACED WITH HAUSA IN SCHOOLS

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has urged northern governors to reconsider the region’s education system by adopting Hausa as the primary language of instruction in schools.

According to the governor, English should be taught only as a subject rather than being the medium of instruction in primary and secondary education across the North.

He stated: “Adopting Hausa as the language of instruction in northern schools could significantly enhance the learning experience, promote enrolment, and foster a deeper understanding of subjects among pupils and students.”

However, this proposal has sparked widespread concern among Nigerians from other regions. Many worry that such a move could negatively affect youth corps who are posted to northern states for their mandatory one-year service under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

Moreover, there has been a flurry of reactions across social media platforms. One Facebook comment by "Andrew Beza" particularly stood out, and I quote:

“And to One Nigeria, does this make sense? Abi, na another way of superimposing Hausa language on One Nigeria or making it a compulsory language for everyone? Think well, because you can’t come to southern Nigeria to speak Hausa to our children. Take note of that. Your NYSC graduates can only serve in northern Nigeria. Kpomqwem.”

Guys, I’ll let you watch this video for yourself so you can see exactly what I’m talking about. Also don't forget to like, share and subscribe to this channel if you haven't already done so.

I agree that adopting Hausa as the primary language of instruction in northern schools is a great way to preserve cultural heritage and promote linguistic diversity. It can also enhance the learning experience for students in the region.

Just like the Russians and Chinese, who have made significant technological advancements while promoting their native languages, Nigerians can also achieve greatness by embracing their linguistic heritage.

The Hausawa are beginning to remove themselves from the Hausa Fulani yoke.
Gone are the days Fulani will ride astride Hausa and dictate how they are governed..
I see more of such clashes in the future..
The Time of the Fulani is over..
Hausawa will regain their land and kingdoms in quick succession.

So you must respect the Biafrans who said they wanted to leave over 50yrs ago but your people slaughtered them and forced them to stay as unwanted guests!

Channelling energy towards elected officials is a viable approach. Nigeria's democratic structure empowers Senators, National Assembly and governors to advocate for regional interests. However, their silence on separatism suggests underlying complexities.

I strongly agree with Prof. Sani Abubakar Lugga's call for the North to unite and prepare for self-determination. The region must:

1. Unite to defend its rights and interests.
2. Take proactive measures to address security challenges.
3. Prepare for potential separation from Nigeria.

Community-led actions are crucial to address socioeconomic and security issues. The North must take charge of its destiny and prepare for the future.

I understand your point, but I respectfully disagree. While the voting patterns you provided do suggest that the South East region has consistently voted for candidates from other regions, it's oversimplifying to say that tribe played no significant role in the 2023 presidential election.

The complexity of Nigerian politics and the myriad factors influencing voting decisions cannot be reduced to a single factor. Tribal considerations have historically played a significant role in shaping Nigerian politics, particularly in regional voting patterns [1).

For instance, the 28% vote share for Ojukwu in 2003, despite being an Igbo candidate, may indicate that factors beyond tribe influenced voting decisions. Similarly, Buhari's increased percentage in the South East despite having Igbo running mates in 2003 and 2007 suggests that other factors, such as performance, policies, or national issues, also swayed voters.

Moreover, the significant difference in vote share between Peter Obi (91%) and previous Igbo presidential candidates (Orji Uzo Kalu, Pat Utomi, and Kingsley Moghalu) hints at a unique factor in the 2023 election, potentially beyond tribal considerations.

Let's acknowledge that Nigerian politics is multifaceted, and both tribal and national issues intersect to shape voting patterns. We should strive for nuanced discussions, recognizing the complexity of these dynamics.

A friend of mine came back to the country with about 10 million Somalia shillings in cash. One note is 50,000 somalia shillings which makes 5 million per bundle.
The problem is that he has been having difficulty finding exchangers that buy it because they say it's hard for them to resell as no one really goes to the country like that.
Please I know there must still be some exchangers somewhere that can buy it only that we probably haven't been able to meet the right exchanger.

If you have any or location please I will appreciate if you can connect us. Thank you

Nigeria recognized Palestinian statehood on 18 November 1988. Nigeria has voted in favour of Palestine at the United Nations at the time.
Palestine has an embassy in Abuja and their ambassador recently went on a solidarity visit across Northern Nigeria.
