Some Yoruba youths will read the part of we don't give a damn and still defend the system that subjugate southern Nigeria
- My point is not about making anyone politically irrelevant, my point lies in economic destiny and fiscal federalism
-Kano is not as populous as Lagos for christsake Lagos is a coastal city with busiest portss borders etc no boko haram
- Why are u afraid of regionalism, resource control etc
So, since Lagos is a coastal city, then it is more populated than Kano?
For goodness Lagos is the smallest state in of land size in the whole federation.
People packed in a small area. The population density will be high. It a simple fact, and this is the case of Lagos. Don't confuse population density with an actual demographic figure.
Take a trip to Kano state., and educate yourself.
I drop my case.

For those who wonder why they call Southern Nigerian slaves.
Let me explain you see Nigeria is not a homogenous nation it’s a union of various countries or kingdom notably the Yoruba Kingdom, Hausa Kingdom and Igbo kingdom. Now ideally each Kingdom anywhere in the world manages its resources itself and enjoys it alone the English Kingdom doesn’t share its resources with the Scottish Kingdom in Europe doesn’t share its resources with Italy and even though the same country Dubai doesn’t share its resources with other emirates.
And should different kingdoms agree to come together each kingdom must control its own resources, The only way resources are shared is if a kingdom has been subjugated by another for example the old imperial Oyo empire collected tributes from the Egbas, Nupe Kingdom and even the Dahomey Kingdom, The old British empire collected tributes from its colonies inform of tax and resources.
As at independence Nigeria was a union of different independent kingdoms, each were able to manage its own resources, tax in Yoruba territory were paid to Ibadan not Abuja or Lagos, Cocoa the oil of then was 100% enjoyed by the Yorubas, the North enjoyed its own resources east same thing.
But with the intervention of the military in power the Fulani who destroyed the Hausa Kingdom and were even coming for the Yorubas if not for the Great Aalafin of Oyo, Ijebu and Ekiti warriors who defended Yoruba territory, in fact today Ilorin a 100% Yoruba town is listed as an emirate and the British allocated 30 more towns to help create Kwara and Kogi state.
Using the Military, the same Fulani enforced a unitary system which means every regions resources goes to the centre aka Abuja now here is the trick the majority of that money goes to north particularly north west and its shared based on population which is wrong on all scales it’s a form of subjugation.
So from that point of view the Yoruba Kingdom and Igbo Kingdom which has Niger Delta has part of its territory has been subjugated. The Igbos will fight against this system even though they lost mainly due to the fact that the Yorubas didn’t assist militarily and were interested in ruling the entity called Nigeria and the Igbos didn’t carry the Yorubas along in of logistics and military empowerment when planning an independence war.
However as the Igbo territory lost the war, its territory was subjugated (today the Fulani’s who fought own virtually all the oil blocs) symbolic to the way Oyo kingdom owned all resources in Dahomey kingdom after Oyo king defeated Dahomey Kingdom) and so was the Yoruba resources even though no war was fought to claim it, the unitary system applied to all.
Today the Yoruba Kingdom is the wealthiest in West Africa it s for 55% of the Nigeria’s economic activities and host the richest, fastest growing and biggest city in West Africa.
However their tributes (tax on industries, resources, ports, and customs) are forcefully taken by the same Fulani from the North that is modern day slavery.
The Igbos have always opposed the system, the Niger delta fighting daily for resource control however the Yorubas have not complained about being ripped off rather we have been looking for the most diplomatic way to get it which isn’t working out the only thing the Fulani immigrants understand is Force ask the Cameroonians how they chased Fulanis away.
To be fair I am Yoruba most Yorubas don’t actually know the Billions being generated from their territory belongs to them and not Abuja so they actually don’t know they are under modern day subjugation. Also our President Olusegun Obasanjo didn’t do much about the system which I don’t understand.
Yoruba also like the idea of Nigeria being in a larger family it gives unrestricted access to each ethnic groups purchasing power and creates wealth unfound anywhere in Africa. But my fellow Yorubas we cannot be a union where we simply don’t enjoy the fruits of our labour (tax) and our God given resources (Geographical advantage which gives us the busiest seaports, airports and lucrative borders)
London stock exchange, Dover ports, London Heathrow airport, University of Oxford, Cambridge and London imperial university all pay taxes to the English Kingdom not United Kingdom and even if they should do in a later future, the majority of tax won’t go to Scotland or Wales unless they are subjugated by them.
Dubai enjoys its oil 100% income generated from tourism when you pay for a visa to go to Dubai enjoys the money without sharing with Abudhabi .So should we fight for true regionalism Lagos stock exchange, Apapa, Tin can and PTML Ports, Oyo area command, MMA will all pay taxes to Ibadan you can imagine how rich the Yoruba Kingdom will be. Until we fight for our resources we will never progress forward and will remain modern day subjugated territories that’s the bitter truth Yoruba Ronu.
For those who will insult me and say I am still archaic and stuck in the past ask yourself
1) If we have truly moved forward as a nation and people why don’t we have an Oba in Ilorin, why is Kwara and Kogi west despite being geographically western Nigeria not part of the South west
2) Why do the Igbo have only 5 states despite being huge in number 18% of Nigeria’s population
3) Why is that Lagos has 20 local governments and Kano has 44 local governments despite Lagos having three times population
4) Why is that the term Hausa-Fulani Is accepted but no term like Yoruba/Edo/Ishekiri or Igbo/Ijaw
5) Why can’t your region set its educational standards
6) Why can’t your region builds ports at its will
7) Why must we wait for a central Figure to build infrastructure within our territory
If you go through this questions and you can defend them being a southerner ask yourself are you a slave?

It’s high time for Modern Yoruba youths to wake up from slumber we are in 2015 and cannot afford to be using our God given resources, human talent to finance a dead unproductive empire in a desert that brings nothing to the table.

I dont have much to say. But, let me draw ur attention, to a myth which is popular in contemporary southern owned Media. Lagos is not and can't be more populous than Kano.
You can blaming us the Fulani as the main cause of your (Southerners). For all I care, we don't give a damn.
Nobody can make Fulani politically irrelevant. We are not Igbos, how Jews are powerful in the US, that's how powerful Fulani are in Nigeria.
Take it or leave it.

Honestly, I will love to see that. Can you say the same to Plateau state to have a Muslim deputy Governor? Anyway let's look at the fact on ground. Having a christian deputy Governor in Borno state, will be very difficult. The Christian population are not much enough to demand the position of deputy in a state withover 80% Muslims. And due the fact that Borno is among the conservative Northern states. Conservatism here represent HFKMN (Hausa/Fulani/Kanuri/ Muslims of the North.I just hope that they will be a day in Nigeria, where religion of an individual will have less influence in our politics.

Who needs you to believe the bitter truth?

Keep wallowing in your pit of lies.

Rather than reform your ways you point fingers at others who are better than you in all regards.

Keep denying. This thread-like most of mine is to expose the evil hypocrisy that Islam stands for.
Best of luck with that, even enemies powerful than you, try that. In the end, they failed. The US went to war with Iraq with the aim of destroying Islam, with over $1Trillion spent and 10yrs of wasted war. Islam became the fastest religion in the US, within the 10yrs of war.
The Soviet Union went to war with Afghanistan, USSR used over 600thousands troops to destroy Islam in Afghanistan. What happens to USSR? Its collapses and Islam became the second largest religion in Russian today.
Same applied to Israel. Islam is the second-largest religion in Israel, not Christianity.
Take or leave it, you can't do any harm to Islam. Just continue wasting your time in ignorance. Because Islam is the light and you the darkness can't stop the light from shinning. I drop my case. Ma'asallam.

As if there is nothing like that in Christianity. For the record I don't believe in the authenticity of this interview. In Islam Clerics are allow to marry, can u say the same for Catholic church? Where so called clergy raped young boys, cos church ethics not bible refuse them the pleasure of women. You shouldn't throw stone if u live in a glass house @ OP

@puss33 See pot calling kettle black. Sanusi is the Emir of Kano. And Emir means a King. And for Clergy talk. Unlike Christians in Nigeria, Our Monarch is the head of the religious council of Ulama (Islamic Preachers) in our states. Get your fact straight, pls.

It Simple obey their Law and live peacefully. I have stayed in Jakarta, Indonesia for 2yrs. I have never had any problem with police. Some don't usually believe am a Nigerian (Due to my Arab looks) until they see my port. In neighboring Malaysia, some house owners only give Nigerians with Islamic name house to rent, while other Nigerians are being targeted for hate crime. Am not here to hail, the North where I came from. But, for those of u who have stayed in this part of the world, u will understand where am heading. Now authorities in Malaysia, Indonesia and co. Can differentiate between a Northerner and a Southerners. Pls Stop disgracing Nigeria pls.

As a Northerner, I would have say this is unfair, but after my research. I have no reason to go against this zoning agreement. The SS and SE clearly should be blame their politicians and their citizens for this. They don't have any Senator in APC. I guess giving SS the position of Deputy Speaker is fair, since they have two APC rep.
This is how the incoming Country's leadership with look like;

President ----- North West
Vice President ----- South West
Senate President---- North Central
Speaker ------ South West
Deputy Senate President ---- North East
Deputy Speaker ---- South South
Chief Justice ------ North East
The biggest losers in this arrangement is the South East. Clearly the are the enemy of themselves.
They have already in a sinking ship. But putting their hope in PDP.
North West will forever remain the most powerful political zone in this country.
Even in this clueless istration. North West occupy the position of Vice President and Speaker HOR.
Well, Nigeria is country dominated by North westerns. Nobody can alter this simple fact.

If this is true. Then Buhari must be a big fool. Look fear Kwankwaso. He is the last person Buhari is going to have on his opposite. It not a hidden fact that Kwankwaso is the ultimate Leader of APC in north west. As for Fashola and Fayemi, not having them in your government will be ur worst mistake. This two politicians are living testimony of performaning leaders.
Fashola my Hero, Fayemi My Mentor and Kwankwaso my Model.
I just hope this article is just a lie.

Just like how Governor Yero, the defeated PDP candidate in Kaduna State. He is now an Islamic Cleric preaching to people, on the supremacy of God. He forgot that God is powerful when he was the Governor, and how he threaten to deal with APC leaders and ers in the State. Karma is just great.

Still waiting for the day you go on exile. Nigerians defeated your self-centered, Corrupt praised party. Shameless old convict. You should AKON and start a music career. Anytime u want make a speech the first should be "Convict" in echo. I rest my case.

It simple, we in the north, refuse to vote for Jonathan, because of;
his inability to fight the brutal terror group of Boko Haram.
His inability to fight corruption.
The wide spread of impunity which has been the character of his istration.
His clueless nature to governance and I don't care attitude towards vital national issues.
His Niger deltanization of the entire federal government
Marginalization of the South West and North East
I have no regret in voting this President out of office. And by God if Buhari do the same mistake of Jonathan, I will also vote against him.
