(1)Connect from battery PCS port to inverter BMS port
(2) Use protocol L51
(3) Your dipswitch settings, number 1 should be on why 234 should be off.
This is how i connected my growatt hope battery to my Growatt Inverter and it works well.
Hi, please what is your firmware version on the growatt?

Burnerr did you later fix the problem
Sorry about the late response. Nope, been managing it like that.
Was told to send it back for a checkup but I'm delaying on that till I can find an alternate source of power that'll last me through the return period.

If I’m an installer, I would rather source for the items myself. I would most likely already have reliable dealers with established business relationship. This comes in very handy when warranty issues or product issues of any kind come up.

If I’m a seller, I will most likely have a recommended installer. If you choose to use any other installer, I must confirm the installation job that was done in other to honour any warranty or product related issues.

Everybody loves the cheap inexpensive way, but , cheap things are usually more costly in the long run!
Yea, I used the installer recommended by the store where I went to get accessories.

Wiring.
Overload
Surge
Most likely, the issue came about after I tried using grid to charge the inverter (which I honestly did not need to do)

That first installer that gave you bill would blame you for not using the quotation he gave.
Compare his to the one you finally used and maybe you might have an idea of what caused it.

Except he wasn't explicit in his list, but the installer I went with got me more for less but I still ended up having issues.

Sadly you were not in Lagos, my spirit was just interested in your set up from start..

If you can share some pictures of connections, it may help. Hybrid inverter are sensitive to wrong connections, and settings.
Sorry for the late reply, please find attached my config

Your inverter has a short circuit, a damaged component.

To fix it, you will need to decommission and send to repair/service centre.

Wahala, I never even use this thing up to 2 weeks. Any idea what might have caused it?

tongue tongue I don de tire at this point. Was using my inverter last night when nepa decided to show small love. See me see problem, I decided to go and recharge meter small. 5mins later I'm perceiving something burning and lo and behold the smell is coming from my setup.

Now I can't use the inverter with the battery together. Unit only supplies power if I'm going through PV/AC input to house, but shows error 09 (bus soft start failed) when I try to use battery.

Please who can assist me with this or knows any verified installer in Uyo to help look into this?

Have you been able to make it work ?
Nope.

Adding to my prior issues, i can't get the shine wifi to power on. It came on but I couldn't configure it the first day. Since the second day I plugged it, it doesn't come on anymore.

Edit: Does anyone know where I can get a spare BMS cable?

Ask them to send their tech person over.
Also, can you please share the quotation for the materials you eventually got for the installation ?
Please find the receipts attached.

Please make sure you followed the instruction as stated on your manuals.
Secondly, It is advisable to always restart your Inverter and Battery when changing protocols.
I would recommend that you also get another patch cord (75cm Lan Cable) to swap out your communication cable and see if it resolves the issue.
Also make sure that your systems (Inverter and Battery) are properly grounded to avoid ESD damages which is common in this field.
If these does not fix the issue, Do it my style.

YANK BOTH THE INVERTER AND BATTERY TO YOUR VENDOR'S OFFICE AND HAVE THEM PROOVE TO YOU THAT EVERYTHING IS OK.

Yes because sometimes these devices may have a factory defects or damages inflicted during logistics and the supplier will always tell you that you might be doing it the wrong way. So I would swallow my pride, storm their office with the device and have them assemble it in their office and most times it turns out that i have been right all along, so they will try to convince you to turn it in for service.

I ed my supplier and they hooked me up with one of their installers, after hours of debugging there was no solution and he told me that my cable might be faulty then before the call ended told me that my installation does not meet their standards due to not having a breaker between the battery and the inverter and also using an incorrect breaker in my installation meaning if my system is to develop a fault it won't be covered by warranty (which I think he said to try to stop me from claiming warranty rights).

sad sad day 3 of having this battery configuration issue. The battery is showing as low while the inverter reads 53.9V. I've tried everything I've seen online, and the shinewifi dongle isn't coming up at all when plugged to the inverter.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears.

Its better you share pictures of the display.
Is there communication between your inverter and the battery, error 04 should be low battery though..... Follow the advice given on setting up protocol 05, and make sure the communication cable is connected correctly, i mean. There is a particular end that goes to the inverter and battery, if interchanged, it wont connect. Hope this helps a little.
Any idea if this could be caused by the earthing? Cause the installer didn't setup earthing for the battery.

So I spoke with fouani and they said to use L52. I'm still getting the error and here's a picture

Hmm, I'll try reversing the bms cable. If that doesn't work I'll send a photo in the morning.

Use PCS.. connect to BMS port on the inverter

Open the Manual and follow the recommended settings, or share it here.

Settings 05, PTCL L01 for RS485
Setting 05, PTCL L51 for CAN, I prefer CAN
Done, still getting the error.

Go to setting 5 and set PTCL to L01 036 make sure cable is on BMS and 485 PORT on the battery.

Aluminum rails with bolts and nuts for 6s is like 25-50k depending on the installer
100a knife switch is 5k(u don't need 200a)
6mm DC cable is 3800/yard and are you living on the ground floor of a 3story building. That 45meters long o
AC & DC SPD 10k each
AC & DC MCB 16k for both
9-12way db - 10k
4mm AC cables - 900/yard
10mm is overkill for 5kw

I'll advise you get another installer thats not after ur life. He just pissed u bought those materials yourself.
Thank you, I've ed an installer who gave me prices close to what you quoted, though his cable costs 6000/yard. I would negotiate more on that with him in the morning.

Hi house, great work I've seen being done on this thread.
I'll be needing your help once again.
I finally got the growatt spf 6000es and the growatt hope 5.5l-a1 battery with 6 620W jinko s.
Time for installation, I reached out to the installer who had first given me a quote that I had procured the main things myself.
Now he sent me a new quote with some things added which weren't in the first quote.
Please could anyone help me go over this quote if it's proper?

Your planned setup is already a recipe for success. The 5kva Growatt inverter you intend getting is a tried and tested performer. The relatively high price you pay for it already covers the excellent quality expected of it. Likewise the in-built Mppt it comes with is good enough so you don't need spending money on any extra external mppt. Keep that money for some other important project.

My only input would be on the type of Lithium battery you intend to buy. Make sure it's LiFePo4 chemistry and not Lithium ion.
Which does the growatt hope belong to? It says lithium-ion in the title but LiFePo4 in the description.

If u can afford growatt inverter and Jinko s why go for lead acid to power ac, microwave, iron these ones alone will kill those lead acids within 6months. You know the right thing to do ooo but u deliberately chose otherwise. Think!!!
I'll go for the lithium. Another question, do you think it's better to go for transformer inverter with mppt controller or would the hybrid transformerless serve well?

Hi house, I'm still on my setup journey. So far I have decided on these for my setup:
- 1 Growatt SPF 5000 TL 5KVA inverter
- 1 Growatt Hope 5.5KW battery (for this I'm also considering getting 4 12V 200A gel batteries instead)
- 6 Jinko 615W Solar s

Any other thing required I think I can trust the installer to procure. Is this going to be able to keep me off-grid?
Appliances it'll run would include a 1.5hp ac, about 3 standing fans, a refrigerator, charging some devices, occasionally (during the day) iron, microwave, air fryer.

Any form of advice will be appreciated.

Hello house, I want to get a setup was thinking of a 5kw growatt inverter. I know lithium is good, but the cost is lipsrsealed lipsrsealed
Would 4 12v 200A gel batteries be a good alternative or not?
Thanks in advance.
