Nonsense! Do some research and get the facts before correcting other people incorrectly! I have a port and my NIN is on the port data page. If your location does not require NIN, then you must not have the Enhanced E-port. If your location does not require it today, eventually they will require it. https://immigration.gov.ng/enhanced-eport/ Morgan9: 2 Likes |

How did you confirm it's 4G/LTE enabled? Have you used the sim in another device and it showed 4G/LTE? I still think this is either a error or provisioning issue. D not take your phone to any technician until you confirm all that. debossng: |

Yes, as far as I know NIN is required for port renewal these days. The form has a required entry fir NIN. And the NIN is printed on the port. Funkiedee: 2 Likes |

If it does not show LTE either, then something else is going on.

Same here, NIN guy here at the Chicago center pulled the info from the BVN generated NIN, instead of using what's on my port. I was doing my renewal at Ikoyi office...I paid 20k for fast tracking, so that I can collect my port within the 7 days I had before returning to the US. Well, that failed because of the NIN wahala. Once my agent ed me about the name issue, I went out there the following day, he put me in touch with someone at the NIN office right next door, did the name modification, paid 15k for fast tracking ( a simple name change 1K regularly). Well, the damn machine had network problems ing the Abuja office. So, I was not able to get the NIN slip. Called every day before I left Naija, but no luck. Then it dawned on me that since I did my NIN here at the Chicago office, I might as well reach out to them. Called the NIN registration guy, since I know him personally. He asked me to come in on a Sunday afternoon (Yes doing it remotely from his house). Went there, did the modification, he sent it to the Abuja system, and on the following day he informed me it's been finalized, and he forwarded/emailed me the updated NIN slip. Forwarded the NIN slip to my guy doing port in Naija, and my port came out the following day. A friend of mine visiting Naija brought my port back for me. Thank God I did 10 year renewal! I do not have to deal with this mess for another 10 years. Sorry for the long story. It's so that you can know the trouble I went through. In you case, if you have time on your side, I'd suggest you just wait. PS. I did not have to pay a dime for the name modification here. The guy realized it was his own mistake, by using the name on the BVN rather the info on my port that I tendered to him. olamide34: |

I suspect there are different names between NIN system and MTN line. Had the same issue when I tried to renew my port. Long first name on port, but short name on NIN system. So the verification failed. Had to make a name modification in the NIN office before my NIN verification came through. Why in 2021 would a modern system try to match on first name is beyond me. Normally it should be a combination of DOB and last name. Then if multiple matches are found, they add first name to try to get a unique match. RonnyD: 1 Like |

Could it be that the sim card needs provisioning for 4G? When 4G is on does data work? If true, LTE discovery or Signal Check from the app store, and verfiy what LTE bands it says you are on.

Very good point. It's the same over reliance and waiting on God that got Nigeria to the mess it's in today! There is a place of worship in ever nook and corner. And when some thin happens folks will say "They put it in the hands of God" Well, it seems God has not responded after DONKEY years! It is effort, hard work, honesty, research and applying appropriate solutions that will bring about success at any level. It's no coincidence that the most successful nations are the least religious. Enough said! Elnon: 4 Likes |

Since you have tried multiple chargers and cables without much luck, I suspect your charging port is bad. kodded: |

yeah. They are comparing apples and oranges. Lagos has no drainage system planned before buildings sere put up. Those countries had well planned drainage networks, But they suffered what's called "flash floods". Extremely high level of heavy rain for 24 hours or more. Lagos only had a few hours of continuous rain and it can't even handle that. Honestly, if Lagos should experience the same amount of rain as those countries it will be catastrophic! I see people comparing the floods in London to what happens in Lekki. However, we need to out things in perspective. London received a month's worth of rain in 24 hours. It's called flash floods. That amount of rain would overwhelm most drainage systems. OTOH, any little rain tends to cause flooding in the Lekki area. If that area receives the same amount of rain that fell in London in the same time frame, it will be disastrous!

I hope folks are aware that this was scripted. That they were all acting. Still funny nevertheless.

Back then there was hardly anything like sponsoring or H1-B. So one needed to be authorized to work either through citizenship, green card, or work permit. I already had GC when I started my first job. Electroweb: |

May be originally. However with number portability this is no longer accurate. Since a number originally issued to MTN for example can be ported to any of the other networks, and vice versa. So an 0803 number can be ported to GLO, etc.

As long as it s the network bands used in the US it should work. North/South America LTE bands are different from those used in Asia/Europe, etc. Global phones should be fine. However a phone made strictly for the Nigerian market may not have the required bands for usage in the US. thebest1210: |

Question 1 - No it does not mean. AS long as there is room on a particular page, it will be stamped there. For example, my 5 year port that expired this February only has 3.5 pages used. About 4/5 stamps on each page. Within that 5 years, I visited Nigeria twice a year. So, you can have your port stamped as many times as possible before it expires, as long as tee is room to put the stamp. You are stamped on your in/out of Nigeria. Question 2 - I did the 10 year on my Renewal in January at Ikoyi office. Mainly due to the stress involved with the process. Mine was fast track though and cost me 90K. I was only in Naija for 8 days, so had to do fast-track. Went there to fill form and capture on Monday, my rep called me on Thursday to come and pick it up. 20K well spent if you as me. So in my opinion, if the funds are available, it's good to opt for a 10 year port. adampedia: |

Not when you are in the US jail system, using the phone provided by the jail house. They have the right to record his calls. How stupid can he be to even think his conversations were private. It does not matter what language is being spoken. The will translate the recording. This is not Nigeria! Kosoco: 2 Likes |

Enjoy your time there bro. Never been to Cabo. However, myself and family spent 7 days in Puerto Vallarta about 6 years ago or so. Love those all-inclusive resorts. We've also been to Cozumel a few times, via cruise ship stops though. I am sure you will have a good time. Especially in such a Tourist city. lionlee216: |

The names on your port and NIN have to match exactly. If you want use anything different on your port, then you'll need to do a name change on your NIN first. kennybuluro: |

Are your s not synced to Google s? If not, make sure they are moving forward. So that your s are synced whenever you change phones. As for call history, yes, I know MTN and GLO call history can be accessed via the respective mobile apps. However, the history is maintained for only a few weeks or so.

You probably can. However, since programming is all about problem solving, it will come a lot easier if one likes math/problem solving. If one does not like match at all, it will be difficult to survive as a programmer. 24kmagic: 1 Like |

That's correct. Probably no more than 1/3 of that. Especially for such a white-collar crime. Look at Inari for example. aktolly54: |

Honestly this sounds like a scam. The Nairaland person that introduced you to this immigration officer is likely part of the scam. Do not part with a kobo any longer. I believe you've been swindled!

I have had Android 11 for some time now, may be a month or so. Honestly, not sure when I got it. I have the A50 - Latin America/US version - SM-A505G/DS. credon: |
