Absolute nonsense! If so, he should command Nigeria out of it's 60+ years of slump! Who are the folks believing these so called pastors?

These devices are E-sim (US Iphone 14 and above are on E-SIM only) locked to AT&T. So they are pretty much not usable as a phone on any other carrier.

This roaming agreement that allows them to use MTN's network infrastructure may help in the near term. This confirms that 9mobile is a struggling carrier.

Just about every thread on this platform turns into an ethnic debate/fight. So so sad for the future of the country...if there is any!

Well said. This is the first thing that came to mind when I saw the title. The country will NEVER progress when we must add tribe/ethnicity to everything.

gasparpisciotta:
Must we use ethnicity to color every achievement?

What is wrong if the heading reads:
‘12 Nigerians in diaspora build a “world class” hospital in Anambra state, Nigeria.’

Majority of the Govt officials in Nigeria are not there to represent the people. They are there to represent themselves and their immediate family . They only care about lining their pockets. Until Nigerians start acting by holding these people able, nothing will change!
Bossman(m): 3:11pm On May 16
People need to move on from this carrier. Port your number out quickly! At their peak they had 23.4m subscribers. As of March of this year they only have 3.2m subscribers. The writing is all over the wall. If this is not an indication of a network that's dying very quickly, I don't know what else is. They are not making enough money to sustain their infrastructure. It's a fast sinking ship!

Exactly! As already mentioned, everything else has to be in place for the PPV model to really work - uninterrupted power, internet, etc. Couple all that with the cost of each PPV event, most just won't be able to afford it. Of course, folks can chip in to cover the cost, and then get together and watch the event.

KURUNMI1:
There is a fundamental misunderstanding of what PPV means and largely, it is the assumption that it frees a pay television subscriber from conventional subscription. It does not. And it requires you to pay a king's ransom to watch a broadcast only once. It is exclusively for live events . Can Nigerians afford it? No broadcaster will bring PPV to Africa, let alone Nigeria where the cost of electricity is making people mad. Among those agitating for PPV are those who want to be taken off Band A. We need to get serious

I brought my Onn android box. However any other android box, firestick, etc will do the same thing. You just need to connect it to your Wifi.
Also, since you mentioned you just want to watch Youtube, any smartTV should have the Youtube app already on it. So you don't even need a streaming box. Just connect your TV to your Wifi.

dotcomnamename:

Please did you did you buy a device from MTN for the TV? Is it a package that will come with device and data together? If yes, any link web to it please? I don't what device is best to connect WiFi to my TV from for like 3 weeks, I just want to be able to watch YouTube, that's all.

I don't believe this can be done without visiting the port office in Nigeria.
Bossman(m): 7:00pm On Mar 07
Not possible. Your biometrics (picture and fingerprint) need to be captured. And you need to show up in person at some embassy or an office in Nigeria for that to happen. So sad that Nigeria is still so behind the curve in this day and age.

Bostin:
Hello everyone please I want to know if it possible to get a renewal port from Nigeria in absentia and send to me in my location because there is no Nigeria embassy or port center where I am and I need it to process residence.

Well said. I have been in this industry for a very long time and this is so true. People jump into tech for the financials primarily and that is a recipe for failure. You really have to love and understand problem solving in order to be successful in this field. While jobs may have dwindled a bit since the early 2000's, there are still tons of jobs out there for people with the right skillset.

MT:

Obviously you do not understand tech.

You have not worked with tech at an enterprise level.

You are still thinking of using code to develop a calculator solution. It is more and deep than that. So you expect a company like first bank to subject their code to chat gpt. Chat gpt simply make life a bit easier but most codes being churned out require refactoring and understanding of design principles and patterns.

The first step to failing in tech is to go into it for the financials alone. It’s a sure way to failure.

Companies in the US and Europe still recruit the best hands . There’s something lacking in your skill set if you are not getting interviewed.

Tech is an art and you need to learn the fundamentals. I get enough invites all over the world with relocation package that I even choose to ignore

This thing will likely drag on for a while. What this means though for the purposes of this thread is - the embassy will likely not be granting visas for birthing until it's resolved.
Bossman(m): 7:27pm On Feb 05
Yeah, Not a fair comparison. The difference is day and night.

Haba!

How can you be comparing US & nigeria

It's like sleep and death

Compare nigeria to places like Congo, Afghanistan, south Sudan

America always rise, nigeria is dead

Thank God everyone is safe. I agree, Nigeria is not prepared to handle any sort of emergency. Luckily this was not too long into the flight.
Bossman(m): 4:11pm On Jan 21
Ah, okay. Thanks for the clarification. Now that he has just signed the executive order, I would expect the probability of getting visa for birthing purposes to be very low right now, even as this goes to the courts.

TWoods:

Not true. It would simply require the court to interpret the meaning of jurisdiction. A justice like Scalia would have argued that the intent of the framers was not to allow non-citizens to flood here and use their children as anchors.

Well said. I have posted this in another thread as well. What's the point of a smart TV when internet/data is still prohibitively expensive. You can't enjoy the features of a smart TV without very cheap or unlimited data.

slim75d:
Smart TV in Nigeria is a scam, it's meant for countries that pay little or nothing for data and Wi-Fi. I tell you most Nigerians that have smart TV in their homes haven't used upto 40% of its potential

I agree. Even though he will be deported once he completes serving about 75% of the sentence or so. His fingerprint was already on file after the first deportation. But by presenting the fraudulently acquired port, his fingerprint was not checked upon entry. Otherwise they would have found out who he was at the point of entry.

The country is heading nowhere. Even the crook leaders stealing the Country's money know it. That's why they hold their loot mostly in foreign currency, send their kids abroad for school, and try to acquire properties abroad and a more valuable port. It's a sinking ship!

Even if you do not have the skillset, just get out and try to acquire the appropriate skillset wherever you end up. With the appropriate skillset and hard work, there is great potential!

This can also be checked via the NIMC app. Just click on 'Linked Numbers'., Select anyone you do not recognize, or are no longer using to report it. Then choose the reason. It will be reported and "reported" indication displayed next to it. It should drop off eventually I guess. For now, the one I reported 2 days ago has not dropped off.

Way to go Thailand. The country is a major tourist destination. A lot of Americans and other expats are beginning to see it as an option to move to and retire to. Myself and family were in Bangkok/Phucket for 2 weeks a couple of years ago. Our best vacation ever!

I concur. I actually was just discussing the airport issue with a friend last week. A country's main airport says a lot about it. It's the first, and sometimes the only some international travelers have with the country. MMIA is an absolute disgrace!
I am not sure why some of us do not want to hear the truth. An outsider visits the country and says something that is the clear truth, and some folks are hear yarning nonsense! As Fela said...na suffering and smiling. Just SMH...

quickly:

the worst airport in America is better than MMIA. From there your impression is set that you are entering poor of the poor. people begging you any free space you go.

Mostly aboki kids begging for food or money.

The same reason the crooks ruling Nigeria all try to get another port so that they and their families can have a better life. The same reason they jet out of the zoo for any kind of medical treatment. The same reason their kids are all schooling abroad. No need to go on...Nigeria has failed it's citizens!

That would be very difficult for him to achieve as it would require a change to the 14th Amendment of the Constitution. It would be a long and very tedious process. What he can and will likely do though, is make it difficult to get visa or totally stop this visa for birthing purposes.

My guess is that, with Nigeria's massive population, they expected their market share to be higher. One of the main reasons for this low number is the lack of availability of affordable unlimited internet for the masses. The cost of data is still relatively expensive. And majority access the internet via their data on their phones. While the other countries have real broadband internet.

Bottom line is, these companies are out to make a profit. And if Netflix cannot attain that in Nigeria, they will eventually leave the country.

The phone may be network locked. Can you go to Settings>General>About, Then scroll down to carrier lock. See what is displayed there.

I just try three different SIM cards now. Same .
