Wasted speech.

Their unwritten Moto and conviction is that they are superior to the country and authorities and loyal to only their military bosses

They think they are above civilian authorities, traffic laws, civil order and rules and think civilians are inferior.

They will assault a civilian at the slightest confrontation and meddle in police work.

The Nigeria army is light years away from discipline and modernisation and thaysxhy they have been struggling with Boko haram for over 20 years

Your point is not valid. You can ask a military personnel officer for more enlighten. We have dealt with cases in the past and off recent. I know what i am saying

It is position people like you hold , that is why army do not respect traffic laws and regulations in this country because they feel it is subjective to their commanders
why are you not asking a lawyer?

It's funny you're asking a military man who's ignorant, arrogant and holds disdain against police superiority in law enforcement.

No army man will it to you a civilian, that a policeman can arrest him.

Go and ask your lawyer and come back

Lol lol

So will the police go and charge a military person who's still active in service to the court. I have stated my point sir
let's say a soldier rapes a girl or brutally assaults a person in a residential apartment where they live.

The case will be reported to the police and the army is expected to corporate by asking the soldier to report himself to the police or produce the soldier to the police for investigation.

It is not for the army to tell the police that they will investigate. Nope.

We're not under military rule anymore but the psyche remains

Bro, i just called a course mate of mine who is a Major in the Military police. He said the Soldier will be sent to his unit then he will be court martial which might be a dismissal offense or demotion depending on the commander. If he get dismissed then he will be handded over to NDLEA which will carry on with his case. If you chose to disagree then no problem
grin

You're asking a soldier who will go and arrest a Taylor that delayed his girlfriend's clothes?

Or a Nigerian army who will detain you in the barracks for traffic offense!

I'm surprised in Nigeria, many people believe the army isn't answerable to the police when they commit crimes against the state. Wrong.

Ask a lawyer.

Ali Ndume is an enemy of progress, having failed to get the bills withdrawn, he is proposing a further reduction in the VAT derivation.
The current derivation is 20%, the President proposes 60%, the Governors are proposing 30% , Ali Ndume is proposing 10% -13%.
When a state generates income and receives 60% of it , what's wrong in that? but Governors are saying any state that generates income should collect only 30% while they share the remaining among themselves, even more sad is the illiterate Ali Ndume suggesting a mere 10% as derivation while they sit their lazy ass to share the rest. We are patiently waiting for the public hearing and what the Senate will finally into law.
Because Borno produces and generates nothing

The states should be given added responsibility too especially roads and other infrastructure to handle once this bill sails through

I completely disagree with. Before police can proceed on a military personnel issues then he has to be dismissed from the service then handed over to the civil authorities. I am telling you from experience
completely false.

It depends on the crime and on what capacity the crime was commited.

For offenses against the state and in a personal capacity when a military man is not on duty, hr will be prosecuted and arrested by the police.

If he is on active duty and commits a crime in the course of his duty, the military will take over

, the police is superior as far as law enforcement is concerned and their jurisdiction covers everybody from government officials to the military except sitting presidents and governors as per sec. 308 of the 1999 constitution

I am not longer active in service and i can tell you what will happen. Don't be surprised he will be sent back to his unit. Let gist you a story of a course mate of mine who police caught him with pistol at midnight, but his unit had released him to civil school. The police took him to his unit and explained the whole story. The commander dismissed him immediately and gave the police all sorts of papers before they could proceed with him.
I can't understand this
BadBradley: 11:17pm On Jan 17
crossbreedwears:
He's right. He will be court martial and be dismissed.
His offense is a federal offense so the police had him first before the military.

If the military were the one that fit him, they could court marshall him and dismiss him and hand him over to civilian authorities.

When the police catch a military personnel committing any state or federal crime, he will be prosecuted accordingly.

There's no special privilege there

The public is more interested in what he did than this notice of suspension.
The police should be transparent.

I saw this on CNN and I said wow! It is now becoming obvious to the West and all those who cares to know that Nigeria is indeed one best place to be.

We understand the setbacks but who would believe that gun violence in America claimed over 46,000 lives in 2023 and over 28,000 people died same year in flu related cases? Let's cherish and celebrate what we have and like they always say, No place like home.
one post from the fakest news network in the world, CNN and we're in fantasy land already.

The number of people in Nigeria that have died from road accident due to bad roads, the number of expectant mothers who have died from childbirth related issues and those who have died from our advanced chemist shops called hospital is worse than those figures on US

What is Nigeria's life expectancy again, 55 years?

Rubbish.

Let's be realistic and hoping and working for a greater country but not be carried away by a misleading article

I never questioned whether she has mental two issues as claimed by the family

I questioned why they would claim he didn't do it ... were they with him 24/7?

In your head... no difference in I never questioned ...and I questioned. Thanks for confirming my suspicion that you have a comprehension problem. From the tone and sassy response I can tell you had a whole lot of home training ... not sure if it were under bridge or in a brothel. Educated fools everywhere.
Bitch I just screenshot your post.

Where you actually questioned the family who said their son never raped their sister. Both their mother and siblings came out to say it's all false accusation.

Your stance for questioning the family 's claim of their son's uprightness and sound character was if "they were there 24/7. So effectively you're saying a child living in her family house with family will be raped repeatedly when she was 3 years old by her 12 year old brother and no family knew about it because they were not there 24/7.

You also doubled down on your assertions that Missouri is a state prevalent with incest preceded by the comment " why can't it be true?"

Then you implored all Nairalander unfortunate to read your digital manifestiiom of lunacy not to jump on the side of the accused because he's a "moneybag "

Then you also opined that rhetorically whether it could be because of the rape she suffered from her brother that made her to have mental issues.

Now here you are contradicting yourself like a thoroughbred idiot. And that's why I said you were typing from both sides of your fingers. Now pay attention here........

You implored us not to believe the testimony of the accused mother and siblings who said their son and brother is innocent. You doubted their claims but you're apt to believe them when they said the acc who is their daughter had mental issues. You are now urging us to consider whether the rape could have caused her to have mental issues.

Olodo, if you believe the mother and siblings are lying about their son's part in the rape, then you should also believe too that they are also lying that the woman had any mental issues. You can't cherry pick what to believe in same instance in this case. Little fool.

And then someone called you out and you became a thorough wet bitch convulsing in an epileptic fit when confronted with facts.

Bitch, here's where I ask you to show me your big wet pussy and your large clitoriz.

You're a drama queen with emotional issues and a Nairaland addict.

I see you jump from topic to topic in a vain attempt to fill up that empty void in your bleak existence.

Are you a product of rape? Do you know your father? Were you raised by a bitter single mother ?

Learn to love yourself and stay off Nairaland.

Snowflake!

See the emboldened statement. You're still repeating what you posted and still asking us to show you.

You're in Nigeria here unwashed, sweaty, underfed questing an entire US family about the character of their own son and brother.

The very premise on which you stand to buttress your lunatic and deranged opinion is whether the family was with them 24/7 of the day!!!!

People like you suffering from perceptual disturbances and attention deficit syndrome, having escaped orthodox diagnosis, will always be the only indisputable proof that conventional medicine is not enough both for the treatment and diagnosis of mental dwarfs like you with clinical lunacy.

I do some things when I was 3 years old ... as in when my grandfather died I vividly him laying in the coffin and had two coins covering his eyes. When I described the scene my mom was shocked ...she told me I was only 3 when he died. Other things too. Maybe you don't...but others do. Did I say he was guilty? You need to keep your emotions in check ... it's messing with your ability to grab what you read. When you simmer down ... reread my comment...then reread your response ..you should notice something.
It goes both ways ... women lie about being raped and men lie about not raping. Is it reasonable to say she is lying because many women have falsely accused men of rape? That's what you do. Do I believe a woman if she accuses a man of rape?....you say I do. Thanks for the newsflash ...I had no idea ... you know me better than I do.
you can't even stand by your own post when called to .

You questioned the opinions and assertions of other family comprising the mom and younger brother and sister who affirmed the complainant had mental issues and is a charity case to the family.

You also inferred Missouri is rife with incest and also questioned why anyone would believe a moneybag who is the accused.

When you're called out , you begin typing from both sides of your fingers. Bad.
