While imploring the party to do the needful to redeem the situation, they announced that they would no longer participate in the reconciliation process except all the appeals filed by the Governor’s side were withdrawn from the courts.
Meanwhile, in an interview with the BBC, Hausa Service, Shekarau objected to the proposed composition of the caucus of the party at the local government level as proposed by national headquarters, saying that the category of some people designated as caucus at this level contravened the APC constitution.

The Presidency on Thursday disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari is in a last minute consultation with critical stakeholders as he races against time to take a decision on the re-worked Electoral Act Amendment Bill (2022).
Senior Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters, Senator Babajide Omoworare who made the disclosure said he has it on good authority that Buhari is vigorously meeting with the Attorney-General of the Federaton, Abubakar Malami and other key stakeholders on the Electoral bill.
Omoworare made the disclosure at a one-day Policy Dialogue organized by the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) in collaboration with West Minister Foundation for Democracy, WFD, in Abuja.
The Presidential aide however noted that Buhari is inclined to sign the reworked document this time around especially as all the grey areas raised by him in the rejected Electoral Act Amendment Bill (2021) have been attended to by the National Assembly.
Omoworare’s assurances that Buhari will sign the document before the expiration of the 30 days allowed by law was however not enough to douse anxieties among various discussants at the policy dialogue.
Giving credence to Omoworare’s statement that Buhari is in high consultation; organizers said the Attorney General had graciously asked to be excused from the public conversation as he was still consulting with the President on the matter.
Former Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Attahiru Jega was not particularly impressed at the seeming delay on the part of the President to sign the Electoral bill, 11 days after reitting the document from the National Assembly.
Even more displeasing to the former INEC boss is what he described as a growing lack of sense of urgency by both the executive and the legislature to complete work on the Electoral Bill.
He said Nigeria cannot continue to dilly-dally much further on the Electoral bill and go into fresh elections in 2023 with the same old laws.
The snail pace of work on the Electoral bill is beginning to have a toll on INEC’s preparation for the General elections next February as confirmed by INEC Chairman, Professor, Yakubu Mamood.
The INEC Chairman who was represented by his Chief Technical Adviser, Professor, Bolade Eyinla said with the new Electoral law still being awaited; the commission has not been able to come up with clear cut guidelines for the conduct of the elections.
He said INEC and not the Executive nor the National Assembly should initiate proposed amendments to the Electoral laws as it is being practiced in neighbouring Ghana.
The Executive Director, YIAGA Africa and the Proponent of Not-Too-Young-To-Run, Samson Itodo who ed in the conversation virtually believed that the current document before President Buhari was good and has all the essential ingredients to enhance the integrity of Nigeria’s electoral system.
He shared in the sentiment expressed by Omoworare that President Buhari is favourably disposed to the Electoral bill this time around and will deliver it as legacy to the Nigerian people.
Earlier in their opening remarks, the Director General National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Abubakar Sulaiman and his co-organizer and Country Representatives, Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD), Adebowale Olorunmola believed the document awaiting Presidential assent will be the game changer to Nigeria’s record of flawed elections.
The attention of imo state government has been drawn to rumours making the rounds that the Executive Governor of the state, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma has ed the presidential race.
There is no truth whatsoever in those speculations which are the handiwork of a desperate and idiotic opposition hell bent on distracting the governor from delivering on his mandate to imo people.
The Governor has neither contemplated contesting for the presidency nor informed anyone of such intention.
Apart from being preoccupied with the delivering of democracy dividends to the people and making their lives meaningful, Uzodinma is committed to serving out his tenure satisfactory.
Imo people and all political associates of the governor nationwide should disregard the malicious rumours as a vain attempt to smear the name of Uzodinma.
Signed
Hon Declan Emelumba
Commissioner for Information and Strategy

He advised the APC not to consider fielding Tinubu.
“I will advise the APC not to Tinubu’s ambition,” he warned.
“Maybe they (APC) should feed the Vice President. I consider him to be upright and up and doing. I see a nationalist in Osinbajo and I honestly I have confidence in him”
On why he returned to APC with Dogara though he was a fierce critic of President Muhammadu Buhari, istration, Tukur’s said his position about the Buhari’s istration has not changed.
“Returning or not returning, we are still objective in our criticisms of Buhari,” he explained.
“Honesty as far as I concerned I maintain my position that Buhari has failed. This is my position. I am a bonafide member of the APC and a person that is well known by the president but believe me this is not the Buhari I know when he was wearing the military khaki. He is no longer for any position and we have every right to choose.”

However, in view of the positive performance of the Super Eagles at the just-concluded Africa Cup of Nations which has given hope to Nigerians and boosted our confidence in the present coaching crew to qualify us for the World Cup in Qatar, we have decided to accept the recommendation of the Technical and Development Committee to retain the Eguavoen-led coaching crew and strengthen it with the addition of Emmanuel Amuneke.”

Bank records obtained by Peoples Gazette have exposed connections between Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s law firm SimmonsCooper Partners to Bola Tinubu’s money-laundering front, Ocean Trust Limited.
The records show that on April 26, 2013, Ocean Trust Limited transferred N25,001,050 into SimmonsCooper Partners bank with UBA, contradicting SimmonsCooper’s categorical public denial in July 2019 that it never had anything to do with Ocean Trust in any capacity and for any reason. The firm also cleared Mr Osinbajo of any knowledge of Ocean Trust’s existence.
SimmonsCooper Partners, a white-shoe law firm headquartered in Victoria Island, was named as one of Mr Osinbajo’s businesses when presidential spokesman Garba Shehu listed assets of President Muhammadu Buhari and his vice in September 2015.
In 2018, ex-Alpha Beta Consulting managing director Dapo Apara came out with corruption and money laundering allegations against Mr Tinubu, a ruling party chief and 2023 presidential contender. Mr Osinbajo served as the attorney-general of Lagos when Mr Tinubu was governor between 1999 and 2007. Mr Osinbajo started SimmonsCooper Partners with other associates in 2007.
Ocean Trust was specifically mentioned in Mr Apara’s court documents as one of the firms allegedly used to siphon funds from Alpha-Beta, the controversial Lagos tax contractor whose financial activities have come under scrutiny amidst ongoing publications by The Gazette.
Following Mr Apara’s allegations, The Gazette obtained bank documents that showed how Mr Tinubu was moving billions from Lagos coffers into Alpha Beta and subsequently into Ocean Trust, a company without any traceable address.
Between January and June 2019, Ocean Trust summarily moved N16.4 billion from its operations s into a fixed deposit , all domiciled at Wema Bank, our findings showed. The transactions were carried out by Yemi Adefarakan, executive director and group financial officer of Continental Broadcasting Service, owners of TVC News and other related media subsidiaries in Lagos and Abuja.
Additional bank documents showed how TVC’s 2013 expansion was financed with funds from Ocean Trust, an onshore shell venture that renders no services. Jonathan Zwingina and Kehinde Durosimi-Eti, two of the three people whose names appeared on company registration filings of Ocean Trust, denied knowledge of the firm when reached by The Gazette. Mr Adefarakan is the third name on the CAC filings.
Mr Apara said Alpha Beta received over N150 billion from Lagos, with most of it going into Ocean Trust. Mr Tinubu continues to deflect questions about his interest in Alpha Beta, but behind the scenes funds transferred to the firm from Lagos government s have been directly traced to his family , business interests and political cronies.
The Gazette confronted SimmonsCooper with the evidence via telephone calls, emails and letters for several weeks, but the firm declined comments.
The Gazette reached out to Abidemi Oseni-Oduntan, a former partner at the law firm that had handled its bank s. He initially itted knowledge of Ocean Trust, but afterwards called back to say he didn’t know of Ocean Trust and threatened to deal with our newspaper should this story be published. Bidemi Oseni-Oduntan, Managing Director/CEO, CoreStep Microfinance Ban
Abidemi Oseni-Oduntan handled bank s of SimmonsCooper when Ocean Trust paid the law firm.
The Gazette also reached Babatunde Irukera, a former partner at SimmonsCooper until 2017 when he was appointed to lead the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCC). Mr Irukera declined to confirm or it knowledge of Ocean Trust throughout his years at SimmonsCooper despite repeated efforts to make him take a categorical position.
A spokesman for Mr Osinbajo declined comments about the newly-uncovered evidence linking Ocean Trust to SimmonsCooper at the time the vice-president was a senior partner there.
A spokesman for Wema Bank did not return requests seeking comments about the bank’s involvement in moving billions for a company that exists only on papers — or whether the transactions were reported to federal authorities.
Two peas in a pod
Last month, Mr Tinubu announced plans to run for president in 2023, saying he had informed Mr Buhari of his readiness to succeed him. About a week earlier, Mr Osinbajo also informed the president of his intention to take the top job.
Both camps have been pitted against one another in recent weeks, with Mr Osinbajo’s adviser Babafemi Ojudu publicly denouncing for Mr Tinubu, a decision he said had earned him criticism and attacks from the politician’s ers. Composite of Osinbanjo, Tinubu and Ojudu
But notwithstanding their political differences ahead of a close primary contest later this year, Messrs Osinbajo and Tinubu are still widely seen as allies, especially given their steep history, said anti-corruption and political analyst Shola Olubanjo.
“What these latest revelations tell us is that both Tinubu and Osinbajo are two peas in a pod,” Mr Olubanjo said. “They have both been working together as partners for many years and Nigerians should not be deceived.”
After concluding his tenure as Lagos’ attorney-general, Mr Osinbajo continued to serve Mr Tinubu in several capacities, including as political and legal aide. His loyalty was rewarded in 2015 when Mr Tinubu nominated him as running mate to Mr Buhari.
“If they can be that close, then you know they will go to any length to cover up the shady deals they’ve done together,” Mr Olubanjo said. “Whatever they do in the coming months to get the presidential ticket, no one should expect them to open long-buried secrets of each other’s corrupt practices.”
Three residents told BBC Hausa today that 13 villages in the Birnin-Gwari area have been forced to pay terrorists N45m for their safety. A man who paid N200k said the ransom was raised by levying each household, with some having to borrow. They initially resisted to pay, but had to bow down when the terrorists invaded a wedding ceremony and abducted women and children.
They used that attack as a demonstration that they could assault anywhere they like and killed one person as the last warning. The villagers were left with no option but to give in.
The police have arrested one Abdullahi Usman, a senior immigration officer, over his alleged role in the invasion of the residence of Mary Odili, a supreme court judge.
On October 29, security operatives invaded the Odili residence in Abuja to enforce a search warrant issued by a magistrate court in Abuja over allegations of illegal activities happening at the house.
Documents seen by TheCable, however, revealed that the warrant presented by the security operatives bore a wrong address.
On November 11, the police paraded 14 persons in connection with the invasion.
Frank Mba, police public relations officer, while parading the suspects, accused them of forging documents that were used in securing a search warrant.
Among those arrested are Lawrence Ajodo, said to be a “fake police officer”; Stanley Nkwazema, identified as a journalist, and an Islamic scholar.
However, THISDAY newspapers refuted the claim that Nkwazema works for the media organisation.
Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation, has also denied being responsible for approving the search on the Odili residence.
According to the Punch, Mba confirmed the arrest of the immigration officer while adding that all the suspects will be arraigned in court in Abuja this week.
“Yes, it is true. An immigration officer was also arrested. Approval has been given for all suspects to be arraigned,” Mba said.
Sabinus has revealed why he wasn’t at Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo’s meeting hosting skit makers.
The Nigerian online comedian, in an interview with HipTV, said the timing was not right for the meet-up.
Osinbajo had, on November 2, received a delegation of skit makers at the presidential villa in Abuja.
As photos of the event surfaced on social media, it stirred up condemnatory remarks hinged on how authorities in Nigeria leverage the fame of comedians and entertainers to advance their political campaigns.
In the chat, Sabinus, whose real name is Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, said he was invited but failed to attend because of what he described as “wrong timing”.
“I was invited for it but I don’t think this is the right time for it, truth be told. For a while, we’ve been asking that police brutality be stopped. This is something they’ve been promising us. But right now, it’s still going on,” he said.
“When it comes to campaigns, they come close to talk to us. But when they get into office, they’re far away.
“Then we have to come to them. It’s very wrong. They should come over and fulfill their promises. Going to meet them, for me, is a no.”
In an interview with TheCable Lifestyle, Sabinus had spoken of his long-term plans to transition into Nollywood.

Oluwo said: “I asked her (first defendant) to unlock the laptop and she did.
“So I conducted my internal observation which included speed performance, the circle count of the battery and general functionality.
“After that I, proceeded to ask questions: do you have a receipt for this laptop?
“She stated that it was a gift from her boyfriend, and that she has two laptops and needed to sell one to pay for some bills.
“I conducted a check on a website for my market evaluation. I confirmed the value of the laptop. It was $1,000 to $1,200.
“The exchange rate of Dollars as at that time was N400 to N450.
“She wanted to sell for N600,000. We were able to negotiate for N495,000, which I initiated from my bank to hers.”
When asked if the first defendant produced the receipt of the laptop, Oluwo further told the court that she was not able to provide the receipt as she insisted that it was a gift from her boyfriend.
The witness said: “After the sale of the laptop, we saw her face on social media, regarding a murder case.
Police probe
“Few days later, the Police from State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, invited my Manager, Olutayo Abayomi.
“A call was made to me by someone else in the office, that he has been invited to the police station. So I proceeded to the station to find out why.
“When I got to the Police Station, I discovered that it was in connection to the laptop we bought from Chidinma on June 18.
“We both made a statement detailing how we came about the laptop and how we made the purchase.
“We gave the police the documents of the former owner, which included a copy of her voters’ card, a copy of our form, all receipts which already have her information, regarding the laptop,” the witness said.
Asked if he can detect that a product is a stolen item, he said no.
“There is no way we can detect that a phone or laptop was a stolen one,” he said.
During cross-examination, the first defendant’s counsel, Mr. Onwuka Egwu, asked if he was shown any documents, receipts or proof of ownership to show that the laptop was not for the first defendant at Panti. He said no.
Justice Adesanya adjourned the case to November 29, for continuation of trial.
The three defendants were arraigned on October 12 on a nine-count charge preferred against them by Lagos State Government.
The first and second defendants were alleged to have conspired and murdered Ataga on June 15, by stabbing him several times with a knife on the neck and chest.

“Based on an intercepted intel, the Boko Haram terrorists are behind these recent attacks at Kurmin Kare area along Abuja-Kaduna highway.
“They are also the ones who are abducting people around Mashegu and Shiroro in Niger State. They are trying to establish themselves around the area, so they embark on abductions to raise money for logistics.

According to him, security agencies as well as Niger and Kaduna State Governments have been alerted of the development and efforts to decimate them.
He also said that the Boko Haram terrorists are now working in concert with bandits to abduct and attack people.

Rights activist and Lagos chairman of the African Action Congress (AAC), Kunle Ajayi, says the hoodlums’ attack during the #EndSARS protests were led by an aide to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Anthony Adeyinka Adeboye, also known as Zulu Authority.
“The Chief thug of Lagos state currently serves as SA on sport to Governor Sanwo-Olu. He is known as Zulu Authority,” Mr Ajayi said.
Speaking at an EndSARS report press conference on Monday, Mr Ajayi alleged that the disruption of the protests by hoodlums was not that of obscure facts since the perpetrators are from the government and very well known by name.
“Those responsible for these attacks are known by name and they are controlled by the Tinubu hegemony. The Chief thug of Lagos state currently serves as SA on sport to Governor Sanwo-Olu, he is known as Zulu Authority.
“He controls a network of thugs including Nelson Ekujimi, Gbenga Soloki, Rasaq Olokooba, Debo Adenira, and one of the most recognized faces of the #EndSARS hoodlums, Rasheed Adigun who was rewarded with a Venza car in place of prosecution,” Mr Ajayi said.
He was responding to questions regarding the recent attack on one of the testifiers at the Lagos #EndSARS which took place yesterday.
Also responding to the same question, Dele Farotimi, a lawyer and activist said “The lady attacked was one of the persons in safe houses in Lagos between October last year when they witnessed the incident to March this year.
“Still, when they got out, they were attacked and the attackers are not ambiguous. They came to send a message and we must respond clearly,” he said.
Mr Farotimi who had in February written a petition to the State Security Service (SSS) and the police in Lagos over threats to his life, said the government is constantly found culpable in threats against dissenting citizens, especially #EndSARS protesters.
“In February this year, I submitted a petition on threats to my life to the DSS and the police. It took a month before the DSS ed my lawyer to say it is not within their authority that the police will handle it.
“The police invited me about a month later, I adopted the petition and adopted it the Nigerian way because they had to be mobilized.
“They still haven’t gotten back to me to date and we later discovered that a serving police officer was among those plotting my murder,” Mr Farotimi said.
Also commenting, Adesina Ogunlana, a lawyer to #EndSARS victims said, “Those who attacked the lady are not thieves or rapists. They didn’t take anything from her.
“They came to a message and left the lady for dead. We are convinced that there will be triumph of Good over evil.”
