Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. (2991836 Views)

amnotapervert: So I own a company here in Nigeria and my company has over 400m transactions in 6 months and my personal has over 300m transactions in 6 months as well, my personal has like 7m in it at the time the visa process was on though money has been going in and out but it never went lower than 7m during that period… |

vecman22: ₦300 million in transactions isn’t the same as ₦300 million in savings. Yes, that’s a good amount of transaction volume, but that’s not the only thing IRCC looks at. I could have a balance of ₦7 million and still show ₦300 million in transactions over 6 months — all I’d need is around 42 transfers between s to reach ₦300 million in transactions. In my opinion, ₦7 million (which is about 6,140.12 Canadian dollars) is not enough in cash savings to qualify for a visitor visa. IRCC is looking for liquid cash and proof that you earned that cash legally. 6,140.12 CAD is simply not enough. The cheapest flight that doesn’t connect you through the USA costs around 1,800 CAD. That leaves you with about 4,340 CAD. According to Statistics Canada, the average visitor in Canada spends a minimum of 300 CAD per day https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/daily-quotidien/240828/dq240828c-eng.htm — that’s roughly 2,100 CAD for a week in Canada — leaving you with only 2,240 CAD. And that’s assuming you’re being conservative with your spending. No one wants to spend one-third of their entire savings just to go on vacation. ₦7 million is a lot of money in Nigeria, but the naira has lost so much value that it’s sad to think about. If you’re single with no dependents, I’d recommend aiming for a minimum savings of 15,000 CAD to make your application stronger |

vecman22: Yes, that’s a big problem. First, get your GCMS notes before you reapply, but while you’re waiting, try to maintain a minimum of CAD $15,000 in your . Keep in mind that IRCC can sense desperation, so suddenly depositing a large amount of money into your could be a big red flag. |
auto5598: 6:56pm On Jun 06 |
I will appreciate a response, Which of the IRCC has a better success rate The New version Ircc portal or the old Gc-Key Ircc portal. Reason I'm asking is, I was informed the new version uses Ai which is without human face hence the rejection is much. Can someone kindly advice.. Thank you |
TradeSunMoore: 8:24pm On Jun 06 |
auto5598:I have used both to process visitors visa for family . From my experience there are no material difference in success rate. However the portal is tailored for visitors visa mainly and allows a maximum document of 2MB while you can do 4MB with the GCKey |

Candybright: 9:35pm On Jun 06 |
Pls I applied for GCM note and paid but the email was wrong, I noticed immediately after paying and tried to send mail to correct the email and no response since. No phone to call.... Is there a site that doesn't charge a fee for gcm note please help me with the link. Thanks |
Milito: 7:39am On Jun 07 |
TradeSunMoore: That 2MB is just an headache when you have lots of documents. Do you think there's any noticeable processing time difference between the 2? Because, if indeed the new is AI-processed as insinuated by a number of people, one would have expected it to be quicker than the other. |
amnotapervert(m): 3:45pm On Jun 07 |
Candybright: GCMS is covered under the Access to Information Act, and since the Act isn’t free, it’s unlikely that GCMS would be free either. Sadly the government needs to generate revenue one way or another. Sorry that you made a mistake, but it’s likely you’ll have to make another payment. 1 Like 1 Share |

We see how greedy some people can be, acting without considering the impact on others. You arrive on a visitor visa, make a fake asylum claim, and still have the audacity to sue your host country. This is exactly why Canadians are becoming increasingly anti-immigrant, and the new bill C-2 will likely , making asylum much more difficult. People complain about the rising canada visit visa refusal rates but honestly, don’t blame the system. They’re just trying to prevent more people like him from getting in which is affecting other innocent applicant!

TonyC247: My problem is: What type of visa are you trying to use to go to those countries? A study visa? A work visa? Or ( permanent residency which I know most European countries do not grant directly)? If you’re thinking about claiming asylum, let me speak about Canada, which I know very well. You only have a 13.71% chance of getting approved as a Nigerian, and I know is very strict on Africans claiming asylum. Don’t try it. in 2019 has a 7 to 10% success rate for asylum claims from Nigerians. https://www.dw.com/en/-likely-to-deport-scores-of-nigerian-asylum-seekers/a-67354440#:~:text=Why%20do%20so%20many%20Nigerians,improved%20living%20standards%20in%20. https://g9ija./2019/02/20/1248-nigerians-file-for-asylum-in--in-january-alone/ https://euaa.europa.eu/sites/default/files/publications/2023-07/2023_Asylum_Report_EN_0.pdf (read page 429 I just want to focus on Canada but EU asylum rejection from to African countries is crazy hahahahahah ) https://asylumineurope.org/reports/country//statistics/ when filing asylum You are coming from Nigeria and Nigeria does not have an LGBTQ or Boko Haram issue that method has casted I’m surprised people don’t do their research on things like this — well, that’s why Facebook “visa agents” are always ready to eat people’s money. Wait — do you even understand what asylum is, and the negative effects I’ve written multiple times about over time? Don’t use asylum as a method to “japa.” A work visa: get an employer abroad to sponsor you. A student visa: that’s available too. A visitor visa: that’s to visit and leave. Read up — rules all over the world are changing, and people (the owners of the land and even immigrants who came legally) are tired of the number of asylum claims. Just look at Ireland: yesterday, around 3,000 people marched in the “National Protest for Ireland” rally. https://www.irishtimes.com/ireland/dublin/2025/04/26/anti-immigration-protest-marking-easter-rising-gathers-crowds-in-dublin/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgORUl6txNg Ireland has reached its breaking point over immigration, and politicians are taking note and introducing bills and legislation, like Canada’s Bill C-2. 1 Like |

Good morning fellas, please I need an advice from you guys. I applied for a Canada tourist visa here in the uk Cus I base in the uk. The purpose of my travelling is to attend my niece graduation which will take place on the 25th of June, 2025. I submitted my biometric in London on May 15th,2025. But the problem is this, I have a feeling I might not get a response from them anytime soon. My question is this please. Will my application be rejected if the graduation date has ed before they respond to me? Note: I have families here in the uk but I applied alone and I’m on a work visa here in the uk Thanks for your response |
House34: 11:14am On Jun 09 |
tommiefalz: To be honest, you can still be granted the visa even if the graduation date has ed. In most cases where applications are refused because the event has already taken place, it's not just about the timing—the applicant usually doesn’t meet other key eligibility criteria. In your case, you’ve established a stable life in the UK, you're on a valid work visa, and you have family ties there. All of this shows strong connections to your current residence and reduces the perceived risk of overstaying or making an asylum claim. So even if your niece’s graduation has ed by the time a decision is made, you still stand a good chance of being approved. 1 Like |

amnotapervert: Alright. The type of visa I want to use is study. I am contemplating whether to go to UK or choose another EU country. Preferably I would like to move to Canada if I can get their study visa but their visa denial rate is high at the moment, and I have already been denied their visit visa recently What do you guys suggest |

TonyC247: If you really want the truth and not fake news from CNN, you’ll understand that countries are turning more conservative. Yes, they might vote Liberal, Democrat, or Labour depending on the country, but their immigration policies are definitely becoming more conservative. Immigration policies change with the times, depending on what the country needs and what you have to offer. For example, back in 2016, I was denied my second student visa to Canada — my fourth visa rejection overall — even after paying $10,000 in tuition for the first year of a program that cost $30,000 in total. At the time, my dad had $32,000 in savings, plus about ₦20,000,000 in his personal , and a business with ₦100,000,000. I was applying for the wrong visa for the wrong program — I applied for a college diploma program even though I already had a good BSc result (what we call in Nigeria a strong 2.1). The visa officer was like, “Why is he applying for a college program when his BSc results are good?” They rejected my visa application. At that time, a lot of Nigerians were coming to Canada through college programs and then dropping out to pursue other ways to get permanent residency — it’s not something that just started today The first time I applied for a master’s degree, my visa was approved. One visa rejection and you gave up? I’m sure you used a Facebook visa agent who is milking you. Please, do it yourself. If you want to go to any country, understand the immigration policies, the visa type you’re applying for, and what the country needs. That way, after finishing school, you’ll be able to stay legally, be happy, and work in an in-demand job. Also, understand the industries that thrive in the country you’re targeting. For example, Canada is a service-based economy. We don’t manufacture much — we provide services. Even car assembly plants here are a service industry, serving U.S. automakers by putting their cars together. The same goes for the UK — finance and tech dominate. If you don’t understand these principles, no matter which country you go to, you’ll end up suffering even more than you think you’re suffering in Nigeria.

amnotapervert: I understand you, after getting the GCMS note I will try Canada Study visa But another issue is the course I studied here in Nigeria, I have HND in Public , Upper Credit (3.2). What should I do since Public is not among the STEM courses that is high in demand in Canada and UK. If possible, I prefer to go for Masters because it is less costly than going for another Under graduate study when I travel. Please advise me |
amnotapervert(m): 4:27pm |
TonyC247: It’s going to be very difficult to move from an HND straight to a master’s degree. I don’t even know if it’s possible. From what I understand, you usually have to do a one-year Postgraduate Diploma or Graduate Diploma first if you don’t want to do a full bachelor’s degree before entering a master’s program. I’m not sure how old you are, but age is definitely a factor to consider. And about Public istration—let’s be real, no one should sugarcoat it—it’s a tough field. Honestly, you might want to consider moving toward STEM courses or technical work like plumbing, electrical, or similar trades. A lot of people change their field when they move abroad because that’s what the market demands—you have to adapt. For example, my plumber friend in Canada lives in a $1.3 million house. He’s a certified plumber now, but he was originally an ant and Assistant Branch Manager at GTBank in Nigeria. He studied ing and business istration here but switched to plumbing when he saw the market demand. Today, he’s doing well as a plumber. So, it’s really up to you. If you’re not into STEM or hands-on trades like plumbing or electrical work, you need to work very hard abroad. Don’t let anyone lie to you or sugarcoat the reality. |
