i have more and can guide you in buying or anything.

The one marked X spoil quickly. I bought a couple of car chargers and when connected plugged to power banks, the capacitor of that one drew so much current (instead of regulating it's Max input current), overheated and burnt the charger. sad

What is the difference between A and B with respect to that round thing I marked greed arrow (pardon my ignorance) smiley

A is slightly stronger and better.
B is good too but not at A's level and works well enough. These ones are good for 12W and below devices. If higher, go for that one another nairalander sampled just before i ed you. If for less than 12W devices you can cconsider these.

I have stopped using them myself but still get them for people looking for something thats flexible.

I swear. They practically have different flyers and marketing materials for Nigeria, slightly inflating their KWh

Its not like that
Haisic is only doing what the Nigerians that went to the factory request for.

Anybody can go to a Chinese brand and request for specifics and that's what would be manufactured.

if you bold go meet deye to produce low quality battery for you and brand it deye.. a company that can alter quality to suit distributors request should be tossed in the bin

Recommended charge has nothing to do with cell quality.

Charging and discharge is BMS based.

You can use 100A BMS on 280AH cells. You are only limiting the potential power output.

You can also use 200A BMS on 280AH, this will provide more power.

Cworth used same BMS on both their 100ah Cells and 300ah cells, recommend charge current is 50A. Now do the maths

Bro I don't agree with you. It has everything to do with the quality of cells used. How would a manufacturer recommend 0.13C for a 314ah battery? When e go full with this recommendation?

If the cells have quality they wouldn't be limiting it with 100a BMS.

So you want them to use 150K+ BMS on a budget battery?
Same reason you dont find BT or wifi BMS on budget batteries, or even Screens, this has nothing to do with the quality of cells.

I hardly wave into this type of talks but the bms used has nothing to do with nature of cells. Na cost b d koko. If I layed my hand on such battery, I will remove the bms first and do the right thing. But fear of fire fire won't let some explore their cells fully.

You cannot buy cells at an affordable price and still expect 300a worth bms slam on it.

High quality BMS ain't cheap.

As you noticed, cheap quality battery pack often come with bare bone BMS.

Deye BMS are usually programed to charge to 3.65/cell (58.4) and float @3.35/cell (53.6). I've been using mine with the comm connected since 2023 and it's been working great.

I'll recommend you install the comms back and set the protocol appropriately.

kristien4:
Okay, i use same battery though with a Growatt inverter, looking for a perfect voltage to set it at, as i disconnected communication between battery and inverter. As Growatt charges to 58.4v when communication is used. Though ive been charging at 56.8. I never get power for deye inverter now. Its around 1m. grin

Do you use growatt inverter? What protocol are u using?Because the protocol i selected, charges to 58.4 and floats at 58.4 too. Thought lifepo4 charges and floats at same voltage??
Ferdiwar: 11:40am On Jun 06
No, I'm using Deye inverter but some suggests using protocol 51 on growatt inverter depending on the model you're using.

You can check the manual for guidance.

Float voltage is lower than the charge voltage, mine sits at the 58.4v for certain minutes (I've not really taken note of the actual duration) when it gets to 100% before dropping down to the float voltage of 53.6v.

6kw Growatt. Protocol 52. Charge and float 58.4. That's why i used manual settings, make my beloved deye battery no go swell up. Though i just edited the float voltage to 53.6 to see if it will work, because growatt inverter manual indicates setting float and charge at thesame voltage i dont know why. I just put the float at 53.6 and charge at 57.6 to see the outcome.

Update.. Growatt refuses to charge battery when float and charge voltage are different.

Please I have a question..
I have on ground 5KvA growatts hybrid inverter,120A felicity Charge controller,15KWh felicity battery.12 jinko s-440Watts with 5 extra 450watts jinko s that I can use if need be.

Installer one said 12 s on 120A cc and 6 s on inverter itself since it is hybrid-80mmpt cc .According to him, this is to allow proper charging of the 15KWH battery. He also said he will connect the s 3 in series.

Installer two said the 12 s on the 120A charge controller is enough to charger the battery.I just need an independent verifier though I am yet to get the installation quote from both of them

Install all your s. The more the merrier.

Your total number of s is how many? You mentioned 12 and 5 extra. Then mentioned 12 and 6. Which is it? 17 or 18?

You can connect 12nos of 450w in the 3s and 4p to the 120A Felicity charge controller. Ensure you buy a good 10mm² PV cable for that. The rest can go in series to your inverter.

Having an oversized s is sweet, your day run will mainly be off the solar s, leaving battery to be used during sundown and night.

I purchased them when the battery was expensive; each cost 1.9 million. They are now being sold on Fouani for 1.5 million. The charge voltage hovers around 57.4v when at 100%.
is your charge and float voltage on 57.4v??

For 'HYBRID' inverter, if i were in your shoes, i would max out my solar input for the inverter to the permisible threshold, only the extra s will be put on the external controller. Because for day time use, you can actually set your load preference to be from the solar input on the hybrid inverter, while the remaining power as well as the power from the external charge controller can charge the battery. That is how HYBRID becomes advantageous.

Update
Lets do some maths
12x440 = 5280watts
5x450 = 2250watts
5280 + 2250 = 7530watts

Without even factoring in losses and efficiency, assuming you are charging at 56v (though you did not state your inverter is 48v, but we know it should be)

7530/56 = 134.5Amp (this is the maximum amps the s you have can ever give you, of which it will always be lower due to losses and efficiency and s normally dont deliver 100%)

So you see?

You can install the 5 in series on the inverter, but if you want to make it 6, that's even better. Like I said, the more the merrier.
