Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA (2775313 Views)

Hi, Don’t agree to be talked down on buying bi-facial s for roof mount, especially if you have an angled roof made of aluminium or other reflective material and it is of a light colour shade. These are 605w rated JA bi-facial solar s producing a steady (straight 20mins as at time of posting) 651.5w each. They are giving their full added bi-facial rating 651.5w out of 653w. These JA bi-facial s were the same price as similar rated 605w mono facial s. Also, note that it seems to be capped by the 70A rating of the victron charge controller, I believe they can do past the 651.5w per output that you see in this image. 3 Likes |

mctfopt: Did I mention that in the 12 years I never did a single repair until 2023 when internal leakage occured and it was not cooling well.I was told it has internal leakge and was advised to change the internal piping but decided to buy a new one.It is still sitting somehwere in my house to be sold as scrap when I have the time. |

GloryJoyeux: If you don't mind, can you share this bi-facial pv picture. |
GloryJoyeux: 12:13pm On Jun 05 |
@ mctfopt Hi, See the picture of this particular mount, ignore the pv I scribbled out, these 6 visible s are the JA solar mount facing north. Edit: For transparency, I’ve included the picture without the scribbled s to show they are different s, those are jinkos and part of the south facing string. I have pv input on other mppt strings facing south (not visible in the picture). |

GloryJoyeux: Oh, this is good to hear. I was thinking the clearance will be much more than this. This is awesome to see the clearance is just the usual 2-3 inches. Thanks for the update. |

omotoda: We move the same way. I can only repair power related issues of a fridge or freezer. Once it gets to condenser/leakage and compressor issues, I'm better off replacing it as this fix never lasts. 1 Like |

I swear. They practically have different flyers and marketing materials for Nigeria, slightly inflating their KWh mctfopt: |

Dageek:sometimes i just feel this deye inverter will be too complex for basic s. Too much settings everywhere...lol |
GloryJoyeux: 1:43pm On Jun 05 |
Dageek: Awesome, next is to create your desired automations based on deye sensors and then you have yourself a completely awesome smart home. 1 Like |

kristien4: No, it's not that complex. 1 Like |

GloryJoyeux: I have implemented several automations. One automation turns off powerful appliances when consumption exceeds solar generation for more than 20 minutes, but only if the time is after 4:00 PM. Another automation activates a custom-built fan that I attached to the external heatsink when the temperature rises above 48 degrees Celsius. I have an automation that turns on the water heater once the battery reaches 100%. The past 5 months have been great so far. My system consists of Deye 6kw SG03 version, Deye SE-G5.1 PRO-B x 2, Jinko 555w x 12 7 Likes 1 Share |

Dageek: You went all out. That's how you do it, get it right the first time and rest. Or be a penny pincher and do it twice or even thrice. |
kristien4(m): 2:11pm On Jun 05 |
Dageek:How much did you buy the deye SE G5.1 Pro B? And secondly what is your charge/float voltage?? |
omotoda(m): 2:35pm On Jun 05 |
mctfopt: Please what capacity and brand is your servo AVR.Ihave gotten burnt severally with relay AVR |
Dageek: 2:37pm On Jun 05 |
kristien4: I purchased them when the battery was expensive; each cost 1.9 million. They are now being sold on Fouani for 1.5 million. The charge voltage hovers around 57.4v when at 100%. |

GloryJoyeux: The pic pls? |
Dageek: 2:39pm On Jun 05 |
mctfopt: Exactly. I had already used a 3.5 kVA system with lead-acid batteries. |
kristien4(m): 2:52pm On Jun 05 |
Dageek:Okay, i use same battery though with a Growatt inverter, looking for a perfect voltage to set it at, as i disconnected communication between battery and inverter. As Growatt charges to 58.4v when communication is used. Though ive been charging at 56.8. I never get power for deye inverter now. Its around 1m. ![]() |
Dageek: 3:00pm On Jun 05 |
kristien4: I checked the battery voltage history and I found some scenarios where it crossed 58V. I attached an image here, you shouldn't have problem if you use 57v, 56.8 is already close. 2 Likes |

There are actually very good piping guys that will lay it round and bring that machine back to life. You can still make something decent from selling it instead of selling as scrap... My scanfrost has been running since 2009, the only repairs I have done on it was fixing the freezer door hinge that got damaged by ice 😁 omotoda: |
