Oh dear, sorry to hear that.
Brain MRI, Carotid Doppler Ultrasound, and Echocardiogram could be helpful. As well as the other baseline blood tests.
I hope he makes a good recovery.
P.S
Was he hypertensive?
What are chances of recovery of decent memory from this type of ischemic stroke. Is it like your normal TIA where patients recover after a couple weeks?
White matter lesions are noted consistent with chronic small vessel ischemia. Multiple small foci of restricted diffusion within the left hemisphere predominantly within the occiptal lobe with one in the basal ganglia region. Appearance consistent with multifocal acute infarction without haemorrhage

It's also been a staple of the Fourth Republic.
The one time padding could have been used as a bludgeon was under Buhari who had billed himself as incorruptible.
Everyone who voted for Tinubu in 2023 knew the practice would continue during his istration.
As did the plurality who did not vote for him.
BRD is correct that the media should highlight and pillory the egregious practice still.
That is a cardinal job description.
One of the more recent indicators that Nigeria is on the skids is that she's at a point where corruption, insecurity, and nepotism are lower on the totem pole of concerns than affordability of staples. The brisk pace of Nigeria's deterioration is remarkable.
The next President, obviously Northern, will have no reason to be concerned about corruption, insecurity, or proper/fair representation under his watch. One glaring omission is economic performance. That is deliberate. If Tinubu wins in 2027, as he is billed to, after a post-recession Buhari won his re-election, the economy will officially be a non-issue.
To reiterate, there is no yardstick for Presidents anymore. Wild!
Get in, steal, put the nation's money to work on the opposition.
Retire several billion dollars richer in 8 years. Sweet gig!

That's it
You talk they will still loot, if you don't talk they will loot
In a country akpabio can talk recklessly and nothing is done

Strokes are worse than TIAs. By definition TIA only lasts a few minutes to a few hours before there is resolution and full recovery. Those ones that patients recover after a couple of weeks are not technically TIAs but strokes.
The recovery is extremely variable.
The recovery depends on 1) the part of the brain affected and what functions it is responsible for 2) the size of that part affected
3) the amount of time that lapsed before treatment. 4) the intensity and quality of treatment and rehab provided 5) any co-existing illnesses that might worsen the situation
Basal ganglia strokes can be serious because that area is responsible for cognition, executive function, personality, speech co-ordination. For its size it has a lot of function.
Ischemic strokes are however generally not as bad as hemorrhagic strokes.
From that report it appears he had multiple blockages in different areas of the brain at the same time.
It might be useful to carry out an ECG or Echo (if not already done) to make sure he does not have atrial fibrillation or a blood clot in his heart which is dispersing fragments into the brain.
You guys should get him to see a specialist neurologist ASAP who can co-ordinate his care. One thing is starting the measures that will aid him on the road to recovery. Things like speech therapy, occupational therapy etc. The other crucial thing is to urgently address his possible risk factors (Hypertension, Dyslipidemia, Diabetes Mellitus, Cardiac arrhythmia) and prevent another more catastrophic stroke because he is right now very vulnerable to another one.

There could be an explanation to why that Stat is what it is. It is the "Lack of money" that I cannot relate with.
So, maybe I am wrong, but that stat also shows that those Zones at the top have working wives compared to Zones at the bottom.
A typical Southern woman, is leaving the house to work or market. So, most likely, the children may stay at home with maids, or eat at the shop; Or a friend's place pending when the parents get back
For the Northerners, they have a large population of women that stay at home all year. So it's possible they are eating 5 square meals a day.
Na the "Lack of money" part I never grasp yet.

Ur logic regarding northern women staying more at home than their southern counterparts being reason why the stats are like that is plausible ; but when u consider the "not having money" part of the stat, it makes the stat really funny.
I think the only way one can really understand the stat is if they provide the population for each region . For example u can have 10 million housewives in North west and 3 million housewives in the south south. 40% of 10m in the north west is still more than 60% of 3m in the south south.
But then again, which one be my own sef ? Shey na statistics we go chop?

Yeah he got HBP and was supposed to be on Amlodipine but can't tell if was taking it cos he can't
Does he stay alone? At a certain age men especially due to stronghead need either a spouse or a caregiver whose main job is to nag them about their medications and escalate any non compliance
Medicines are not enjoyable for many so we tend to skip it with any signs we are better. My mom will never miss any medication, small discomfort she don raise voice, call everyone all over the world but my dad everything na small thing to him, you can cut his leg and he will say don't mind your mother its a minor bruise.
One of my friends dad too he had hernia and was seeing blood but he will insist its nothing. To do surgery na by force.

Sorry to hear about your dad — I hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.
On a side note, it’s so important for everyone to consciously prioritise their health, especially while they’re still young or under 40. Once you move past 60 and into your 70s, anything can happen. As they say, health is wealth.

On this thread, I have been preaching this gospel to men for years now. Take care of your physical and mental health, otherwise, old age go rough.
As men, it is natural to stress about everything but ensure you are intentional about your health. Many men suffer after they age, not necessarily because of the natural process of aging but the failure to care for themselves while they were younger.

I think the bot is banning posts randomly. Once it reaches a certain number of posts, then it begins to ban, because I don't get it, I submitted a post successfully without any issues or ban, but later I noticed an error in the post, then I clicked modify botton to correct it ,When I corrected it and resubmitted, I was banned immediately.
Wtf?
