Go to the OIS services website and book an appointment for drop box for her then print out the acknowledgment slip and take it together with the IW documents to the ois office. The OIS date is the valid one and it doesn’t have to be the same date with the AVITS one. The day I submitted mine at the OIS office Abuja, they didn’t let people with the AVITS appointment letter in.
Documents to go with for IW:
Ois acknowledgment slip
port photographs x 2
port booklet
Ds 160 confirmation

Please, if my AVITS appointment is 24/09/2024 and I book OIS for 03/10/2024 will I still be able to submit my port?

I am having the same problem also. Trying to apply for my Dad and Mum but I can only select one adult at a time.

Please, when you created a new appointment, did you increase the number of adults to 2 to include both parents or you had to make payment for the first parent and go over the process again for the second parent?

I tried increasing the number of adults to 2 today to include both parents, and I got an error message. I’ll appreciate it if you can clarify that to me.

I made the second payment because I have an event the first week of October and I wanted to be able to book an expedited application to enable me to attend the event.

What are your thoughts?

1. I hope this is not " the funniest joke of the week ?
USA embassy does not refund VISA (MRV) fee, and it is clearly stated repeatedly on their website, especially when making payment. You should not have rushed to pay another fee, you should have asked question regarding your appointment here.

2. Just pray that you are not even getting a " double whammy" by having two profiles on AVITS.
Open a ticket (complain message), by navigating the option in your profile and attach the necessary documents in of your request. You should also call the -staffs.

You are not doing it very well. When you click on choose file, you will have to give your browser few seconds to react and takes you to your phone or computer file, documents, photos etc. You must have marked where the document you wanted to choose is located before clicking on choose a file.

PS: After a successful pick, you will automatically be redirected back to AVITS (choose a file) page , and all you have to do is to click on submit. You won't be able to see the file you have chosen, just go ahead and submit.

1. Click on " Pending Appointment Request " to continue and once you are able to pick a date and schedule successfully, go ahead and print your appointment confirmation (either blank or not). Take your old appointment letter , and the new one from AVITS along on the day of your interview.
If you are going for IW, go to OIS website , sign up and book another Pick Up/Drop Off appointment, in which you will also merge your previous appointment letter with the OIS letter when going for drop off.

1. Practically, you have missed your appointment, but let's see if luck will intervene.

2. Visit the new AVITS website, sign up and open a ticket (complain message) by clicking the option. Attach your previous appointment letter , Screenshot of the reschedule email, and perhaps MRV payment receipt (merge everything together as PDF), with brief explanation of your situation and submit. Let's hope they give you positive response. You may as well call the embassy helpline. Otherwise, you will purchase another VISA FEE.

I paid my Visa fee on the old website but couldn’t wait for the transfer as I need to travel next month. I created a profile and paid a new fee and I got an email confirmation. Now I can’t see an option to book an appointment on my profile. It just says create appointment and when I fill it out, it says duplicate. I have created a ticket but no response since. When I even tried to refill it out the first time, I ended up creating 2 applications which are both myself. Still nothing. Please can someone make a suggestion, thank you.

1. In this case, the embassy is supposed to send an introduction email to you, which will enable you to migrate to the new website, b/cos your old appointment is still valid.
You were not supposed to go to the new website without the introduction email from the embassy. Only new applicant , who want to start afresh without prior appointments and pay new VISA fees are supposed to visit the new website directly without waiting for any introduction email.

2. In your case, If pending appointment request is displaying, it is supposed to be clickable which will enable you to continue with the scheduling, which means your previous appointment has been linked and all you need do is to print out AVITS version of your appointment letter.
Log out and log back to your profile, restart your phone or computer , clear caches and browser history, and log back .

PS: If this persist , you should open a ticket and complain to the - staff or call the help desk .

1. Try to save or your payment reference .

2. to AVIT and delete both profiles.

3. Go back to AVITS and sign up again with new email and phone number . Then open a ticket in the new profile or initiate another appointment.

1. VISA annotation is a secret or coded word or description that is written inside some USA visa types. This usually happens , if the consular officer does not want the VISA holder to use it for any other purpose , other than the exact purpose and time annotated on the VISA.

PS: Most time, few beneficiaries or holders of such VISAS will never know the meaning or are not aware of such annotations, until they get to Port of entry or run into law enforcement.
Its nothing to worry about , if someone does not have any VISA default objectives.

PS: Any USA immigration official can annotate your already given VISA outside the embassy. VISAS can be annotate inside the embassy, and all port of entries and exit, eg borders.

I have no idea really. One can only speculate. Visa decisions are made by consular officers.

I really hope though, that your port is released ahead of your trip.

Ok just to update on this . Eventually application approved after 5 weeks . I missed by official trip already . Guys if you have any trip within 2 months , don’t do IW Dropbox . I realized too little too late. It’s not like I needed the US visa renewal urgently o , I just felt like let me just renew it since the last time I did it in 2022 took only 1 week. I didn’t realize you have to prepare for possibility of longer time. So again please if you have any very important travel within 2 months of your IW submission please don’t submit o. I’m happy my port is back but I lost a lot of money from not making this official trip and frankly applying for the US visa IW that led to the delay in having my port wasn’t worth it at allllllllllllll. Could have been done at other times .

How do I add a child applicant please? I can only see number of adults.

My IW Dropbox was 14th August 2024. I have an official trip to Europe with flight already booked for 14th September 2024. Till now it’s Application received. Application received 15th, 21st and now 27th August the latest until now that I’m typing this . I’ve been discouraged seeing some folks say theirs have taken more than 1 month , some even nearly 2 months . What are the chances I get my port before 14th September . At this point if they can just return my port with or without the visa I’ll be the happiest man alive . I’m freaking out so much mehn . I wish I didn’t submit this IW thing this time . I had no idea is now so messed up . The last time I did it in 2022 it took like 1 week . I pray for a miracle mehnnnnn

1. Click on the pending appointment . Pending means we are recognising your previous appointment.
That pending appointment must be clickable in order to redirect you. Otherwise, the help staff.

PS: Restart your phone or browser. AVITS is know for freezing or hanging because of too much population traffic.
