No it doesn’t. The OIS appointment date is what is being used at the ois office. When I submitted mine last week at their Abj office, they did not attend to people that had the AVITS appointment. They told them they had to book a new appointment on ois website cos that is the valid one.

Please I have a wrong date of birth on my previous B1/B2 application which was denied 2017 and the port has expired.

But now I have done the correction with sworn affidavit in high court and I also have new port which has my corrected date of birth.

Please how do I go about this error?Do I need to mail the embassy to notify them of this as I have appointment for interview in few weeks.

I got my visa about a year ago but not used it yet. Do I have to enter the US through the state I applied with even though its been a year since I got this visa? I am currently planning to visit a different state and hoping I wont have any issues at port of entry over this.

No you do not have to enter the US through the state you applied with.

I had a similar experience in 2014. I applied to visit Philadelphia, but ended up going to Florida. 1st timer in the US. I was apprehensive as well but the truth is plans can legitimately change and I guess they realize that as well so your decision to change your trip wouldn't be used against you. Besides, its been almost a year since you were issued the visa, a lot can happen in that period.

Go to the OIS services website and book an appointment for drop box for her then print out the acknowledgment slip and take it together with the IW documents to the ois office. The OIS date is the valid one and it doesn’t have to be the same date with the AVITS one. The day I submitted mine at the OIS office Abuja, they didn’t let people with the AVITS appointment letter in.

Thanks very much for this. She already has the OIS appointment booked for the same day. I just don't want them to turn her away by saying the AVITS confirmation is for interview at the embassy, not for interview waiver. Just trying to be careful because she's elderly and won't have energy for their wahala.

No, I am not an F1 applicant. I am a B1/B2 applicant. I started my application on the new portal. By mistake, I was able to book my first appointment for October. Then, I rescheduled it to April, and now I am waiting to see if I will see a more recent date. Have you created a ticket?

I paid Aug 30th and no i did not see any preapproval process phase, i do not think B1/B2 visas go through this stage
