For the note fans... Samsung will be replacing the note series with (S ULTRA).... I've seen some couple of pictures and videos online.... We should be having it early next year... S series with inbuilt pen...

Frijja (a computer software that Samsung firmwares)

In Frija, type in your phone model number and CSC
you said your phone is model SM-N975U( which is definitely a Verizon or sprint, etc phone

type SM-N975U1 instead (so it will a US unlocked firmware (U1). this is very important

in the CSC box type XAA

it will find the latest US unlocked firmware, should be around 4GB. after completes unzip the file


after that Patched Odin(very important) https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/patched-odin-3-13-1.3762572/

Use the Patched Odin to load the files you just unzipped.
1. BL will have BL file name
2. AP will have AP in file name
3. will have in file name
4. CSC will have CSC, **will wipe data!**
1. If you don't want to wipe data, use HOME\_CSC file
5. Click options on left side, make sure re-partition is not clicked
7. Put Note in mode
1. Turn phone off
2. Hold Vol up + down and
3. Hold power
4. Enter Bootloader using volume key and power button to hit enter
8. Connect phone to computer and you should see it as a COM in the upper left box in Odin
9. Click Start
10. Phone Should be updated after it's all done

Some of these US carriers use specific APN settings that's meant for their bands, that's Why issues like yours happen.

Yes I think you should flash a US Unlocked firmware .NOTE that US unlocked firmwares end with "U1"

And also use a patched Odin because the normal one won't covert your phone from US cellular to US unlocked

I have succeeded in getting the update but network isn't that strong in my area so I'll leave it for midnight

And also I noticed pause and resume doesn't work, once internet is disrupted, it stops and you have to start afresh..

yeah midnight should be good, Last time I ed a firmware it didn't give me any issue, it finished under an hour

just checked this thread, i posted the link earlier

It's desame procedure and yes CSC has to be included , don't include home/CSC

It shouldn't brick your phone, tho I've never come across a US cellular branded phone so I don't know if flashing a Us unlocked firmware on it will cause problems .

But you can flash back the ROM for your model you ed earlier Incase something goes wrong . Chances of completely bricking a Samsung is very low these days

where are you getting it from? The UK/US used ones sold are usually snapdragon , the new ones sold in Nigeria with warranty are all exynos
