I my ex mother told me she had 13 arbortions in her young days. Abortion did not start today, and that woman has been married for 20 years plus. She’s unhappy yet she’s pregnant with her second child with him. She should manage her husband like that please. Let’s even assume she wanted to plan her way out of the marriage, is it by giving birth to another child where she’ll feel even more trapped? The man is barely giving her money now and she thinks it will get better with a second child? That man is stuck in his ways and she doesn’t have the of his family. It’s only prayer that can solve this, I’m so sorry. Sometimes we need to be smart as women, if you know you’re not happy with your husband with one child, save your womb the stress and do not have any more children until you are sure you want to remain in the marriage. It’s easier to leave a man with one child than 3. Especially in Nigeria where there’s absolutely no for single mothers, and your friend relying on her husband for monthly upkeep. She should be realistic and ask herself if she can survive on her own with two kids.
If the answer is no, then she should please focus on gaining financial independence more than anything, and ignore her husband for now. Financial freedom will then give her the liberty to do whatever she wants in the future. When one is idle, the mind focuses on things that will only deteriorate mental stability.

Do you know what it means to make a house into a home?

Do you know what it takes mentally to be the glue that sticks everyone together. There’s a reason why women detoriate and get old quick after marriage. If a woman should be contribute financially it should be less than 5%. As a married woman, please do not do try to prove that you can do the undoable.

1. Maintain your weight whilst your young. Not watching your weight will give you series of problem later on in life. Exercise and eat properly.

2. Dont be with someone who’s family do not like you. It is an everlasting battle that you will eventually lose.

3. You will not gain respect trying to please everyone. Stand up for yourself and always speak your mind.

4. Only share things when you are established. People are envious and will try to destroy your plans if you share too quickly.

5. Listen more than you talk.

6. Social skills are paramount for getting further in life. You must learn how to make solid connections.

I gradually stop breastfeeding at 11 months and slowly replace breast milk with tea, pap and water. By 11.5 months, we are totally off breastfeeding and fully taking pap, tea or water at night. By 13 months we are completely off everything. No more night feeds. She sleeps through the night. She also eats whatever we eat during the day. Tea, juice and pap are now twice a day or sometimes none at all.
modify* I think they sleep better with full tommy. I used to wait till like 10pm to feed her well so she can sleep through.

It’s not good for pregnant women to live a sedentary lifestyle. She needs to be on her feet frequently, not to please you but for the health of the baby and herself. I didn’t do nothing during my pregnancy, just to eat sleep and watch tv. I blew up, my whole body became swollen, developed high blood pressure, my baby was too big and I didn’t have the energy to push him out so I had an emergency cs. It is very important that pregnant women do work around the house and keep active. You can do the cooking, but allow your wife to do the cleaning and washing, encourage her to keep active around the house, ‘not because you’re tired but because she needs it to deliver safely.

It didn’t feel real, didn’t feel like my son was mine. Because during labour there’s so much going on, your mind is everywhere. But the minute they put him to my chest, I felt an overwhelming feeling of joy. Pure love and the bonding continues to grow as the months and years go by.

if you want to stick to your roots, then stay in Nigeria and hustle it out. Home when the chips are down, if you use that money to get a mortgage, rather than wasting money on a useless house in Nigeria, you will have less ‘down days’. Unless you plan to move back to Nigeria, it is simply a status symbol, to show people in your hometown that you are ‘successful’. You are buying houses in Nigeria, Yet you are struggling and renting abroad where you are raising your kids. Your children will not enjoy the property so what’s the point?
