Seems they are fast clearing the pre approval requests. Submitted on 23/11, paid SEVIS on 25/11, and just got approved. No dates in Abuja, earliest is February, 2025. Lagos has opening for tomorrow and most of the days in December.

If you're looking at the help handling chores around the house, then it'll be preferable to get a younger person, cos personally, I won't be so comfortable sending an older woman around on errands. An older person would be more inclined to handle baby with more care, but since you're not so comfortable with a stranger handling your baby, I'd suggest you go for a younger person who can run other errands for you... Just that teenagers usually come with plenty drama and boy issues. But then, they can be curtailed. And then again, who really doesn't have wahala?

Where is Anugod o? I am pregnant and need her advice. Please respond, from a pregnant brother and man!!!!

For those who dislike epistles, let me go straight to the point.

APPROVAL TRANSCRIPT

Status: Approved
School: Johnson C. Smith University
Scholarship: $18k(Deficit of $9384)
Sponsor: Uncle
Program: Bachelor of Science in Biology
Interviewed by a Black Male American VO for about 4 minutes tops
Dropping out from a Nigerian University and yeah, I indicated it in my DS-160

VO: me your I-20 and port
ME: *es them*
(I decided to drop my files so that I could gesticulate well with my hands)
VO: How did you decide to go to this school?
ME: I heard about the school from my advisors at the EducationUSA here at the embassy ( points at the building with my hands). They helped streamline my wants and profile with the schools where I would fit it in.( I expected something like 'How did you hear about this school?' so I was mostly rambling until I had nothing to say again)
VO: Tell me about your educational background
I graduated from high school as the salutatorian, senior prefect, JETS club financial secretary, lead mobilizer of my school's rescue team( Again, my mind was urging me to say something else but I wasn't sure of how best to answer this question as it wasn't phrased the way I understand but I just wanted to sell myself at every given chance. Part of my educational background would also be the time I’ve spent in a Nigerian university already but I didn’t stress it since it was already in my DS-160)
VO: what will you do with this degree?
I intend to work at the Nigerian Institute for Medical Research as a Biomedical Scientist and this degree will help serve as a stepping stone to that dream. Nigeria's public health sector is in a deplorable state and lives are being lost needlessly so I'd like to help change that.
VO: Who will be paying for this?
ME: My uncle
VO: What does he do?
ME: He works at Bleep in the USA
(Fairheart had already emphasized that I should first highlight my scholarship when answering this question but I was so tensed that I forgot)
He kept typing and that was when Fairheart's words came to my head. So after about a minute or so of typing, I quickly added that I have a scholarship too
He didn’t even look up, he only said ‘hmm’( he had obviously made his decision already).
VO: What's the duration of this course?
Me: 4 years

Before I knew it, he just slid my I-20 back to me with a white paper and my port ended up in a basket. I won't lie, it was unexpected, I was awaiting more questions so that I can show him what I'm made of. Grrrr! He had given two people before me green papers and I saw the way their faces changed so I didn't want no green paper. White is my favorite color cheesy cheesy cheesy, I love white!!! The funny thing is that I can’t any other thing he said after that. I don’t know if that is the famous deafness you guys talk about but I was discombobulated. I quickly picked up my I-20 and started wishing him all the good things that came to my head, lol. All his responses flew over my head and I ended up by telling him to have a beautiful day.

During my interview, I told him to repeat himself more than once because I couldn’t get what he was saying. Maybe it was because he denied the nice lady before me but he was kind enough to talk slowly. I also wasn’t as tense as I thought I’ll be but I was not as coherent as I would’ve liked. I talked really fast and I was quite surprised that he caught everything I say. In fact, the realization that I finally have my visa is still sinking in. I was approved on Monday, my port was ready the next day and I picked it up yesterday.

There was also one thing I saw, while the VO was typing, the computer behind him was open to one site, guess?... Nairaland! grin grin Lmao, I screamed (internally of course)

APPRECIATION DIARY
I first want to thank God without whom none of this would have been possible. He was the most important factor in this journey.

To Nairaland
Arguably the most impactful site in my life. I discovered Nairaland in 2016 after I had blown my first ission chance and started following this thread. I think I started from part 9 or so and I’ve enjoyed every bit of this journey. I’ve met people who have changed my life and I’ve made hopefully lifelong friendships.

To Northeastern
When I started contemplating rewriting the SAT in 2018 and came here to state it, he straight up offered to pay for me and he did. This was someone I didn’t know from Adam. He also went as far as drafting a list of schools for me. I eventually got to rewrite the SAT thanks to his generosity and had a 180 point increase in the space of a month. That SAT is taking me to the US. I don’t know what he saw in me but I hope to be able to reciprocate his kindness in the life of others one day. May you always find help and may life be kind to you at every turn.

To Fairheart,
The day before my interview, I had two consecutive mock sessions with him and it really went a long way in boosting my confidence. Months earlier, I had emailed him and he took his time to advice me. He also introduced me to a group of equally determined young students who also had a big role to play in my success story. I've bugged him severally for his input and he has never been tired of helping. May God bless you Sir

To Texrem, thank you for replying my pm, going through my transcript and helping me make it more concise and sensible. God bless you richly.

To Best201195, for replying my pm that faithful Sunday afternoon and for introducing me to an opportunity that has changed my life. Your help has made my journey much more easier and worthwhile.

To Fonoth who’s one of the kindest people I’ve ever met in this life, no kidding. She strove tirelessly and kept me informed of countless openings until one finally clicked. She was like an unofficial ability partner who relentlessly pushed me. Without you, it wouldn’t have been possible

To CaptainMarvell who has been a fellow warrior in this battle, thank you for your immense help which is too numerous to name, May the wind under your wings bear you where the sun sails and the moon walks- J.R.R Tolkien

To Etherealbeing, thank you for that mock interview, you helped transform my transcript from a recital to a conversation.

To mummy Lagosismyhome, thank you for your tireless service. I could that she had a word of advice both times I came here seeking help.

To Legit215, thank you for compiling that transcript.

A million thanks to GboyegaD, BenNash and FreshStarz, thank you for your words during the times I was seeking help.

I'll end with this quote by Nelson Mandela, "There's no ion to be found in playing small and living a life that's less than that which you're capable of living". Far too many destinies have been changed by the Nigerian public education system due to her inhumane way of allocating issions. Don't pursue a career you'll hate and don't build your life on a shaky foundation. I have many uncertainties and I feel really anxious because I'm taking a big leap but as Friedrich Nietzsche said, "He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how"

PS: I'm accepting donations, give and it shall be given unto you embarassed wink

I am just seeing seeing this, I am happy that you made it and now in the US.

When I saw the post you were talking about, my experience as a financial advisor told me that was never going to be a bad decision for the reason I stated in my response.

I was about two weeks into my program here in the US when I responded to your post in 2018. Welcome to the club and never forget to inspire others at home. Like you already know, you can become anything with your biology degree and that includes going on to medical school or for an accelerated BSN.

I don't doubt your abilities and know you will turn out better than you expected.

No one is against unbundle of UACN, but I feel that with their current price they have price in with their unbundling news, their price need to lower to #4 to pick some other engers, who will be willing to wait till December or next year when the unbundle news will materialize. Take for instance you are in the unbundle vehicle @ # 7 and Zenith bank visit #12 and UBA visit #4.80, UCAP visit #2 Dangote cement below #100 and you still tell me to keep on balancing well in unbundle motor at #7. As other vehicle are changing gear, they also need to Change gear.
Chief, hindsight is 2020.

When did DandCem go below 100 naira?

The UACN you're talking about, didn't it come from sub 5 naira?

Why not pray against COVID-19 that is the root cause?

Keep your eyes on Tesla and the EV space. July 22 earnings report will check the last box of the requirements to the S&P, even without it, it can be added with discretion. With deliveries for the quarter beating estimates, there is almost a zero chance of not reporting a profit for q2.

I expect it to breach $2,000 before the q2 earnings release date.

NIO seems to be tracking TSLAs move better than NKLA, SOLO, and WKHS.

Una funny for this place no be small, na on top Tesla head una come now.

Last time I checked, having a high or low P/E is to classify a stock as either growth or stable. So the higher the more explosive growth potential.

Tesla just needs to report a profit in q2 and it would be eligible for s&p addition. They'll meet it because they beat their q2 delivery estimate. Even if they miss, there is still q3 to report a profit. Anything that will make Tesla fall will sink the whole market. Institutions and insiders hold about 80% of the stock, expect the current holders to increase their holdings and more institution to once it s the s&p.

I beg make una go look the list of holders, those ones don't sell no matter what. Uncle say na crypto investors invest for Tesla.

If una sure, make una put una money where una mouth dey by short-selling na.

FOLLOW WHERE THE MONEY GOES
9 Nigerian Stocks are on the list of the international investors - These are:

1. NESTLE
2. DANGCEM
3. GTB
4. MTNN
5. ZENITH
6. NB
7. STANBIC
8. SEPLAT
9. BUACEMENT

When the market is ripe (good market sentiment), it's good to follow where money goes. I intend to analyse all the 9 before market opens on Monday. Here is the analysis of the first on the list - NESTLE

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_zY7ywJ1pE

Individual due diligence is encouraged

PLAN YOUR TRADES AND TRADE YOUR PLANS
grin grin grin grin grin

Chief, well done.

Your list is not comprehensive, FPIs buy a whole lot that you'll be surprised at some of the names they buy.

If you are not sure of a factual claim, frame it differently. You are off to a good start, work on your delivery, all those uhhhh should be done away with. Practice your presentation before shooting.

You have a global audience, so, assume no knowledge. In all your videos, provide basic info...... I'll go top-down like this......We'll be looking at Nestle today, the stock with the highest price on the NSE. Give a brief background of the NSE.... like the number of stocks listed..... the sectors.... its ytd return, and then proceed to talk about Nestle's sector in the same manner before focusing on Nestle as a company.

Make a ing comment on its fundamentals and the sentiment of the market at the moment and clearly state that you'll be focusing on TA. Please use TA and make your opinion clear. Say, the stock is bla bla bla its 50 or 200-day ma. , resistance, pullbacks, should all be jargons that you are comfortable using. If I were you, I'll focus on FA, TA, sentiment analysis, and dream analysis(shout out to Yariya). No one would want to follow you when it is only TA value they get, so, go all in.

On your disclaimer, this is not an investment advice is okay. Which one be past performance is not a guaranty of future performance? You be money manager?

Also, you can create multiple channels but make sure that they are specific. If I were you, I will focus on Nigerian stocks on this channel and move all those US stocks to another channel.

Pick a couple of stocks on the NSE and always provide updates on them from time to time. If you cover 30 stocks and provide updates every 3 months on each of them, that will be one video in every 3 days, so the NSE is enough work for you already. to have a standard introduction for the NSE, the sector, and the stock for all your videos even if it is an update on an earlier videos

Also, stop referring people to go watch your previous video. Either provide a brief summary in the current video or share the link in the description.

that what you're are posting now will outlive you and might be a referenced source of knowledge so be invested in it.

I hope this helps.

Let’s not over-inflate the impact of the H1b because it makes us feel better.

Here is my last point on this issue... >85% of H1b holders are indian, if these foreign workers were so crucial to google, Apple etc. then please explain why India has not created its own version of those companies and simply provides cheap labor?

This is your line of reasoning.

Let us not inflate the impact of black NFL players in the NFL because it makes us feel better.

Here is my last point on this issue... 70% of NFL players are black, if these players are so crucial to the Chiefs, Patriots, Ravens, etc. then please explain why there are no black owners of NFL teams?

There is no job for one nationality ....so saying

Most H1B jobs can not be performed by Americans, do you guys think any American company would choose an Indian with a heavy accent over a citizen?

I think it is incorrect.

That a company chooses to give equal opportunities in some roles to migrants and also diversify their work place is probably the driver to why immigrants are given this opportunity and also perhaps shortage of skillset within the american population . Also there are benefit in a diverse workplace hence some companies put some structure in place to ensure diversity. That doesnt mean that no American can do it .

Aunty, how far have they gone with diversity within the US that international diversity would now be their focus? I stand by what I said o, most of the H1B jobs are only available because they don't have substitutes that are locals.

Before una continue dey argue, go and check the companies that get the highest H1B visas and see the sectors they service. Out 85k, the top 3 companies applied for 50k in 2020. I hope you guys know the guys and sectors those 3 companies service and who they hire.

Most H1B jobs can not be performed by Americans, do you guys think any American company would choose an Indian with a heavy accent over a citizen? The me me me old fool has once again given companies another reason the move more jobs abroad.

The US is not a country, it is a business. COVID19 has taught us that working from home is both effective and efficient. Companies will not allow their talent needs to be jeopardized by selfish interest, expect more jobs to move to India, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, etc.

Y’all are conversant with cases of crimes committed by Nigerians because it’s your country. Everyone knows that Indians are the undisputed number one when it comes to criminal acts in the U.S and Canada. From my experience, they’re the worst set of people on earth. Employers know them as liars because they claim what they’re not on their resume.

A friend once asked an analytics guy of how to get an analytics job post graduation, the only advice he was given is to never lie like Indians. They are number one in exam malpractices in the U.S. Go to YouTube and search for Indian scammers and you’ll be amazed of how many videos are there. In fact, there are many YouTube channels focusing on those scammers

Is it Mexicans and drugs you want to talk about or MS 13 gangs from Central America? Long story short, if crimes were to be used to restrict entry to the U.S, the hammer will fall on India, first, and many others before getting to us.

THE DRUM IS BEATING.
Recently, there is a new campaign for brokerage firms to merge and recapitalize.
The proponents of the campaign opined that less than 10 stock brokerage firms are responsible for 80% of equity transactions in the Nigeria boss.
Should this proposal of RECAPITALIZATION / MERGING sees the light of the day, it means the retail traders are in for high brokerage commissions.
Presently, the commission ranges from 0.5% to 1.35%
I wonder why the terrible government of the North always make things hard for the productive people of Southern Nigeria.
We do the work, earn the money, pay the tax, spend by the directionless government of Northern Nigeria.
It took a determined campaign by the Olusegun Obasanjo regime in 1999 to lure the present generation of retail investors to the market.
Now that our generation has embraced the market in our quest for financial freedom, the body language of this government of the North is to make us pay more brokerage fee.
I can recall, VAT was removed on equity investment and transaction in an effort to encourage retail investors to participate more actively in the market.
Recent statistics shows that the domestic investors participation in the market currently stood at 54% vs 46% for Foreign investors.
Should government insist on the recapitalization and merger, who will pay the imminent increase in brokerage fee that will accompany such exercise?
I have no apology, this government is blind and deaf. She does not listen to people. Her personal interest of Northernisation of the whole Nigeria is the interest of the country.
In Nigerdelta, where the mainstay economy of Nigeria is located, we have no gut. The official language in NNPC is now HAUSA.
All the top management positions, 23 out of 26 is filled by hausa fulani.
To worsen the matter, the graduate trainee scheme was essentially reserved for the candidates from Northern Nigeria.
Buhari has destroyed Nigeria.
After removing the VATs holiday that was introduced by GEJ, he is bent on making us to pay more.
What is left for our deaf president is to rechristened the nation FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF THE NORTH.
NO apology for any of the readers of this view from the North.
Speak to your people, tell them Nigeria does not belongs to only the descendants of othman danfodio. It belongs to us all.
After destroying everything in Nigeria, Buhari is bent on destroying the NSE and SEC. Go ahead, we are fully diversified.
NYSE, LSE many of us are already there.
No one is insulting the wicked northerners, they are the one insulting and destroying the nation.
Your President sacks a southerner, he replaces with a northerner.
He sacks a northerner, he replaces with a northerner.
You shout one Nigeria while you believe in only Northern Nigeria. You have grossly divided this nation.
We are marching on. You cannot be in power forever.
The glorious days of NSE shall return after the expiration of Buhari tenure.
Oga, well done o. Na who dey lead the campaign so we go know who our enemies be.

The minimum capital was moved to 300 million during GEJ but the implementation was stalled. I do not think 300 million is too much for any stockbroker that is not operating as a one staff business- which is what many of them actually are.

The commission will not increase and over 100 firms will still meet the 300 million requirement should SEC decide to implement it now. On the VAT, the waiver granted by NOI expired and Tom boy Oscar could not pull enough weight to get another approval- this one would have been hard because the government needs money.

The introduction of DMA is largely responsible for the lower commission we’re witnessing now. However, Oscar now started his MOS drive and therefore overburdened the firms with staff they don’t need. I guess that contributed to why Morgan increased their commission. FYI, brokerage commission is between 0% - 1.35%, it depends on your pocket and the transaction in play.

Don’t compare the NSE with the NYSE and LSE, except for the effect of devaluation, it is always better to invest on the NSE because you don’t pay CGT.

But when we transitioned online, we kept on working (online), and we got paid. As long as you are able to perform your duties, nothing stops the stipend. Most sectors have recovered more than 70% of their losses from the highs of 02/19 while the cruise companies are lagging far behind. The Russell 3000 is down about 15% from its high while in that sector, a more stable RCL is down 65%, CCl down 70%, and NCLH down 73% from their 52 wks highs.

The only problem that stands in the way before normalcy returns is the bad q2 results that will hit the market. If we make good progress on vaccines and cure before then, then the impact would not be severe.

Lemme follow my ogas too grin grin grin

Bought Gilead @64, now @84. holding till @100.

Took a big risk to buy Boeing @95 now @142. Holding too. May will determine the direction of the market.

He he, you got them at the bottom. Great job at the timing.

Whoever has funds to invest long term should jump in without hesitation. The Remdesivir news is a game-changer. The news of the vaccine that was used to test 5 monkeys at Oxford is another huge news. So, Remdesivir would be available almost immediately while the vaccine would be ready around September.

Go to sectors that are beaten down like airline or cruise companies and shoot.

Thank you, Northeastern. Concerning ABSN, do you know anyone who got ission into ABSN program from Nigeria and was given a visa?

Let me know.

Thanks
Any program that gives you an i20 enables you to go before a VO and make the case why you want a visa.

Let me ask you a question, can you gain an ABSN ission from Nigeria? If the answer is yes, then you would be issued an i20 and go for an interview.
