Yes, but will also depend on d dedicated video memory that your graphics card runs at.. The standard is 256mb, 512mb is gr8, 1gb (1024mb) is wonderful and 2gb is d highest.
Make sure it's not less than 256mb.
U can check dis by right clicking on ur desktop, then click personalize, look for screen resolution and click, a dialog box opens to let u see what u need.

kayLion: thanks Op for the thread, my own issue is that I was trying open a link on my lappy yesterday, the system prompts me to select from available software to open it, I then selected Internet Explorer, then all of a sudden, all my desktop icon turned into internet explorer logo (the e)..now, I can't even open any app again cos once I click on any icon, it s a link and won't open..wat can I do to make my icons back to normal..thanks once again

Ur problem is fixed by using a very efficient software called: advanced system care.
The software has d capacity to restore and heal icon directories, undoing the process that led to ur current ish.
I have d exe. file, and will gladly help u fix d issue so long u are available..

Ur problem is caused as a result of a corrupted driver u have recently installed in ur pc.
And it is fixed by scanning ur PC in safe mode (in this mode only drivers and core system components are loaded on start up). I recommend avg 13 to do a clean sweep. After the scan u would actually see d affected driver and then click d heal icon.
Ur system wud be in its desired state again.

Any day hp will top d choice for a laptop option: cos its drivers and parts are easily assesible nd available, likewise dell..
So make sure u are buying a system that has available parts.

@day11, macbook pro have inbuilt baterry, the battery could have been a little detached from the connecting interface in the motherboard: anything could cause this but it's largely external pressure..
Secondly, if you ve been using ur PC on a flat surface, running a processor and graphics card intensive program with ur battery alone, ur system overheats and d battery as well (generally ur Battery will 'not charge' as a result of d heat absorbed)..
Thirdly, u battery could have been already a death laden one from d manufacturer, thus u cud consider a replacement.
