Vocabulary has failed me in describing the people of Ogun Waterside. Such wonderful & lovely people with great hospitality. I served at Tigara community in Ogun Waterside 2008. Moving from Abigi local govt secretariat to Ibiade to Ilushin to rubber plantation. So much love & care between I & the indigenes that emotions were high on the final day of departure. One of my happiest days were times in Ogun Waterside. My bio wouldn't be complete without Ogun Waterside. Much Love from Rivers State.

God bless you richly IJN Sir

Una Delta and Edo na headquarters of flying witches during the day right?

It's bad to try removing a lil dust from others eyes when you have a truckload of sand in yours.

The thread was trying to publicize an indigenous festival not to attract trolling

I'm sure if the festival were held at Canada or America... it'd be beautiful and you'd love to go or comment beautifully on its thread.

Na ur Delta dem no dey do jazz right?

No part of Nigeria that is not diabolical,.cos our indigenous religion was traditional until the arrival of our British colonial masters whom traded our ancestors religion with theirs.

Let's not be tribalistic on threads it's not good enough.

Then, get the person that impregnated you out of wedlock to marry you and stop asking foolish question... A woman who commits adultery can be divorced... She can't remarry and the man that divorced her also can't remarry. Whoever marry her commits adultery... In your own case now, are you wanting to marry...? I think yours is fornication...Can what is applicable to adultery be applicable to fornication? That means you would never be able to marry again and whoever marries you commits fornication...or is it adultery...? So, you should worship your god where people won't know or castigates you for fornication and having child out of wedlock or as a result of fornication...

To serve in such a sensitive position in the church your faith and lifestyle is what young ones in the church need to emulate so if you as a single mother is serving as the choir master others may feel there is nothing bad in having children out of wedlock but according to God's word children needs the attention of both their father and mother for them to grow spiritually. I'm not saying you are not worthy to be called a believer but then there are certain things that doesn't just fit in as younger ones may not understand what led to your predicament they will just feel there is nothing wrong whereas it's a serious matter! undecided

Hmmmmmmmmmmm
Like, listen to my teaching and not emulate my lifestyle.

I wept bitterly and had sleepless nights over this topic cos, in all sincerity, I dread single parenting a lot and that was what made me endured the relationship hoping things would get better.

I pray God Almighty see my heart and make a way for me...I love my department, especially the Sunday school and interpretation.

Make una dey open una eye to see say the nonsense inside your so-called vineyards na the same thing wey dey happen everywhere else, abeg! Discrimination hidden behind the mentions of your gods or your spirituals na the same discrimination wey dey happen everywhere else in the world including porn clubs. grin grin grin

Discrimination na Discrimination even if you try to hide it behind the mention of the name of a deity or ancestor! grin

Honestly, I felt like being stigmatized but decided not to jump into conclusions.

If the people of the world could see single moms as lesser human...y d church? Where else can one feel safe and serve God with ease? I never chose to be a single mom, life happened to me...I don't think this ought to affect my relationship with God.

Maybe I haven't grown better in spirit sha...was my reason for creating the thread.

Dear brothers and sisters in christ,
It's with an heavy heart I'm typing this to seek wider view and clarity on this issue that has been bothering me and I'd be so grateful if I can learn one or two things from the comment session to upgrade my level of understanding.

Lord Jesus said he never came for the saints only and he even told people to throw the stone at the adulterous woman if they have never sinned before.

My question is, how has being a single mom affect one's service in the vineyard?

For instance, I'm a worker in church, chorister, Sunday school teacher and interpreter.....but I'm a single mom, was not legally married to.

Then, my attention was called to it by an higher spiritual leader that I ought not to be working as a worker in church due to the stigmatization of giving birth out of wedlock and being a single mom.

I weighed the topic and hasn't find clarity... maybe I haven't studied the bible deeper enough.

Men and women of God, what is your opinion on single parenting and christianity?
Are single moms ought to be relegated in God's presence cos of their status?

Please, help me to shed light on it....... if possible, with biblical back ups.

Thanks

Yeah you're right, it's shameful when the man is broke

Broke or wealthy...sex is overrated and isn't worth trading one's dignity for.

Sex isn't just an act.... it's spiritually entangling and shouldn't be taken with levity.

I do wonder how sexworkers cope with several men and never shared any bond....their minds had been sold away ...I guess. embarassed

Why is it shameful, and where's the place of sexual freedom and expression for the womankind? undecided

It is understandable if you're the traditional type of woman.

We're Africans...we don't necessarily need to discard all our good culture and embrace insanity in the name of civilization.

As crude as our forefathers were in the olden days...they treat women and sexuality with utmost respect and district that a man marrying several wives had to legally seek their hands in marriage.

We women are special creation and should avoid loosing our dignity in the name of... "it's the trend" ..."aye n se iru e"

I'd rather remain celibate than beg a man for sex irrespective of the pressure.

Every minute, someone leaves this world.

Age has nothing to do with it.

We're all in this queue without realizing it.

We never know how many people are in front of us.

We can't go to the back of the line.

We can't get out of line.

We can't stop moving forward.

So, while we wait in line...

Let's make peace!

Let's do good!

Let's tell the truth!

Let's be honest!

We will leave this world one day, that's for sure.

There's no point holding a grudge against someone who could leave at any moment.

There's no point sending a brother to prison when you yourself could leave first.

What's the point of boasting about putting others down when you could be gone in the next few minutes?

Why do you let yourself be deceived by your money, your social position, and your connections, when you're not the first to have them?

While you seek your brother's death for a piece of land in the village, others exploit your continent and even invade planets.

Evil is ignorance.

Pride is for the foolish.

Selfishness is for the poor.

Betrayal is for the weak.

So let's do good while we're still alive!

Let's use the little time we have left for the course of humanity.

Life is beautiful! Don't you think so too?🤔🤔🤔🤔

I'm an educationist not into tech...but all I can say is...Mr Seun... please work on our dear nairaland..you did it greatly in 2005, you can do it again.

I believe in you Sir...get up and do something to upgrade the site and bring back our old and new ones with innovative threads.

It would also sound great if there can be a place to private chat others without going through emails or old thread to mention.

Those private chats are helping facebook and whatsapp

People will keep coming back and can easily engage in more cordial conversation and it's a win win for the site and it's member.

You can do it!!!
Do it afraid!!!!

I prefer connections... there are some doors that only require a few seconds of phone calls or chats to open that millions couldn't open.

Reason why it's not good to burn bridges in life....no one is worthless...time and chance happens to everyone.

sorry to ask o, are you into farming now?

I'm in a semi-urban city where I don't have the resources it takes to farm... especially land...but back home my Mom is doing it as a side gig and it helps a lot....If I see land I 4 don dey farm tey tey

As a lady, I'm teaching and doing extra lessons but still earn triple of what he posted but it's still not paying my bills as a single mom of two.

Him considering marriage with that amount as salary in the present economy is risky.

No one knows tomorrow, but he can start acting for a better tomorrow today.

If you're a man in this present Nigeria economy earning 50k monthly....at 40+

Omoh! I'd advise you relocate from your current location or go to rural areas and invest in farming... agricultural products are all selling now and you'd spend little on feeding.

No matter where you are in Nigeria...50k monthly can't start a family except you want to be having issues maritally.

But why wait till you're 40+ before realizing that you're finished Sir?

Time never go...start acting now!!!
