The 13th edition of the Jabi All Stars In-House Charity Football Tournament was successfully concluded on Saturday. This year, the proceeds were directed towards ing widows, orphans and other vulnerable individuals within the community. The event, according to the Chairman of the Tournament Organising Committee, Derek Oguine, reaffirmed the club’s dedication to harnessing the power of football for social impact. Oguine said the event, a much-anticipated annual tradition, has become a cornerstone of the Jabi All Stars community, drawing widespread participation and . The tournament featured four teams — DSK FC, Chijen International Coy FC, Oxford Abode FC and Triple C&K FC — all from within the Jabi All Stars community. They competed not just for glory but also for a greater purpose including raising funds for charitable causes. The initiative exemplifies how football can transcend the pitch to foster positive change, uniting players, fans and community in a spirit of sportsmanship and generosity. Oguine said: “Football has the power to unite and uplift. Through this tournament, we aim to make a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most.” He further emphasized that the event extends beyond competition, fostering a sense of shared responsibility and community purpose. “Our goal is to use football as a tool for social impact, bringing people together to noble causes. “The tournament has seen remarkable growth over the years, solidifying its reputation as a platform where sports and charity intersect. “Beyond the competitive matches, it underscores the transformative role of football in addressing social challenges and promoting comion and solidarity within communities,” he added. Chairman of Jabi All Stars, Solomon Okezie, said: “As a club, we believe that our role extends beyond the football pitch. We are committed to using our platform to drive positive change and those in need. “This year’s tournament was keenly contested, with Oxford Above FC emerging as champions of the 13th edition. “However, the true victory lay in the charitable causes that benefitted from the event, reinforcing the tournament’s ethos of giving back to the community. “As the curtains close on this year’s tournament, Jabi All Stars remains steadfast in its commitment to leveraging football as a force for good. “The club looks forward to building on this tradition and expanding its impact in future editions, ensuring that the beautiful game continues to touch lives beyond the field,” he added. On February 7th, 2024, FCT CSDP CARES as part of its continued efforts to sensitize its stakeholders undertook courtesy and advocacy visits to chiefdoms in AMAC and Bwari Area Councils of FCT. The main objective was to brief the traditional rulers on project implementation activities within their respective domains and also acquaint them with the transformative potential of the FCT CSDP CARES Program. The whole essence of the Community and Social Development Project (CSDP) and its significant role in fostering community development were also highlighted. The chiefdoms visited include Karshi, Karu, Garki, Bwari, and Jiwa. The team included Management Staff, project officers, and Operation officers under the leadership of the Acting General Manager, Engr. Obinna Okafor. During the engagements, the teams delineated the essence of CSDP, emphasizing its focus on social protection and human capital development, enabling communities and vulnerable groups to spearhead various development initiatives using the Community-Driven Development (CDD) approach. The discussions highlighted the diverse spectrum of projects facilitated by FCT CSDP CARES, ranging from education and health to water and sanitation. The Chiefs and Emirs expressed gratitude for the proactive approach taken by the FCTA through the FCT CSDP CARES and lauded the tangible impact of past projects within their communities. They acknowledged the strides made in enhancing infrastructure and improving livelihoods, buttressing the significance of collaborative efforts in achieving sustainable development goals. In reaffirming its commitment to the welfare of rural residents, FCT CSDP CARES reiterated its dedication to ensuring that the objectives of NG CARES resonate deeply within the FCT’s rural landscape. Through continued engagement and strategic interventions, the organization aims to empower local communities and uphold the principles of Community-Driven Development. As FCT CSDP CARES continues its mission to foster inclusive growth and enhance the well-being of disadvantaged populations, the collaborative spirit exhibited during these visits serves as a testament to the collective resolve to build resilient and prosperous communities across the Federal Capital Territory. Go to your WhatsApp folder, locate database folder, there are some heavy files there, they are your WhatsApp backup which automatically backs up everyday. Delete all as it'll again create itself automatically Also locate thumbnail folder, it carries heavy unnecessary files. Delete the entire folder, it's of no use.
