The sacred months are: Rajab, Dhu’l-Qa’dah, Dhu’l-Hijjah and al-Muharram. Al-Bukhari (4662) and Muslim (1679) narrated from Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The year is twelve months, of which four are sacred: three consecutive months, Dhu’l-Qa’dah, Dhu’l-Hijjah and al-Muharram, and Rajab Mudar which comes between Jumada and Sha’ban. 5 Likes |

There are valuable lessons to be gleaned from the story of Prophet Musa, his mother, and Pharaoh as narrated in the Holy Quran. One noteworthy lesson is the importance of steadfastness and patience in the face of Allah's decree. During Pharaoh's oppressive reign, he ordered the killing of male infants. Despite the cruelty of Pharaoh's regime, Prophet Musa was born at a time when a prophecy foretold the downfall of Pharaoh's kingdom at the hands of a male child. Remarkably, in an act of divine mercy, Allah orchestrated Musa's upbringing under the very ruler who sought to eliminate him. The Quran narrates, "We inspired Moses's mother, saying, 'Suckle him, and then, when you fear for his safety, throw him in the river: do not be afraid, and do not grieve, for We shall return him to you and make him a messenger" (Surah al-Qasas, verse 7). This directive may seem puzzling. Musa's mother, despite praying for his safety, was instructed to cast him into the river. However, Allah's plan unfolded perfectly as Musa not only survived but received an upbringing of distinction even in the household of his potential enemy. As Muslims, we are urged to draw lessons from this narrative. Regardless of our circumstances, gratitude and reliance on Allah should be our guiding principles. Often, we may feel that our prayers go unanswered, but Allah, in His wisdom, responds in ways that are ultimately in our favor. Even in moments when we believe all hope is lost, we must not despair, for Allah knows what is best for us. As stated in Surat Al-Baqarah (2:216), "But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah knows, while you know not." May Allah grant us faith, and firmness in our resolve, and may He answer all our prayers. Inspired from one of the Tafseers of Shayk Dr. Luqman Idris (May Allah be protect him). This week, let's review the 27th hadith of the forty hadith of An-nawawih. For the past review, see here On the authority of an-Nawas bin Sam’an (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: In summary, this hadith teaches that righteousness is connected to good character and is noticeable by the tranquility it brings to the heart. Wrongdoing, on the other hand, causes inner unrest, regardless of external approval. The guidance to consult one's heart and rely on personal moral judgment emphasizes the importance of individual responsibility in matters of virtue and ethics. May Allah make us the people of righteousness. What lessons can you infer from the HAdith? 8 Likes 2 Shares |

I introduced vectors as quantities possessing both magnitude and direction and discussed how vectors can be represented on a straight line. In the second part of the video, I discussed types of vectors, including the concepts of equal vectors and the triangular laws of vectors. |

It is not uncommon for students to mimic and give names to their teachers based on their teaching style and repeated phrases during lessons. A friend shared a funny incident that occurred after their teaching practice (TP) at a school. During the "send forth" program, students were asked to mimic some of their TP teachers for fun. One student humorously imitated our colleague, complete with mimicking how he introduced his lessons and touching his moustaches simultaneously. The scenario was said to have brought laughter to everyone. I believe positive mimicking is beneficial. It aids learning and helps students important information shared by the teacher. Positive mimicry can solidify important lessons from the teacher. Many of our teachers have shared stories of how they, too, mimicked their teachers in a similar manner. Personally, I mimic teachers I ire (positively) and appreciate students who mimic me (positively). Recently, a student sent me a voice note of how I explained a concept in one of my videos from A to Z, showing their engagement. However, giving teachers nicknames based on their teaching style or repeated phrases may not be appropriate. Atimes to avoid being labeled with a nickname stemming from a funny incident in class, I make it clear, "that does not mean you should be calling me Mr (that thing) o." This helps set boundaries in a playful manner. Who knows if they would insist and include me in their nicknames? How do you feel when your students mimic you? Do you like it? Have you ever been nicknamed by your students? Lalasticlala |

This week, let's review the 26th hadith of the forty hadith of An-nawawih. For the past review, see here
The hadith expands the concept of charity beyond the traditional understanding of giving money or material possessions. It includes a wide range of actions, emphasizing that even small, everyday deeds can be considered charitable acts. One of the highlighted actions is to "judge justly between two people." This underscores the significance of justice as a form of charity. Fair and just decisions contribute to the well-being of society and are considered virtuous acts. Also, acts of physical assistance, such as helping someone with their mount or belongings, are recognized as charitable deeds. This encourages a sense of community and cooperation, emphasizing that lending a helping hand is a valuable contribution to society. The hadith mentions that "the good word is a charity." This emphasizes the importance of using positive and kind language. Words have the power to uplift and inspire, and using them for good is considered a charitable act. It is another festive period for Christians, and there has been controversy regarding wishing those who celebrate this festival a Merry Christmas, with many people pointing to those who hold the belief of not celebrating them as extremists. Are these people extremists? No! Firstly, Islam teaches Muslims to respect and do good to people irrespective of their beliefs. In fact, Prophet Muhammad ens us to be good to human beings and even to animals. A good Muslim should be good to all mankind — respect them, show love to them, commiserate with them when they are bereaved, and grant an invitation when invited to a halal event. But there are limitations. Every belief has this. When there is a conflict in belief, then Muslims stay back. Christians believe in the Trinity, while Muslims believe in monotheism. So, it is part of my belief and principle not to associate myself with anything that goes against my belief. It is just like our politicians. Some are in APC, and others are in PDP. When there are core principles that do not go with APC, will PDP abide? Does that mean PDP hates those APC ? No! When Akeredolu died, all of them, irrespective of the party, commiserated with his family, but they did not celebrate Akeredolu when he won at the tribunal. I hope you see the angle I am coming from. So, people should stop tagging Muslims who do not celebrate non-Muslim festivals as extremists. They are not! They are acting based on their beliefs and principles. They are not extremists. |

Following the investigation conducted by Jim Obazee, a special investigator appointed by President Bola Tinubu to examine the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)'s records during the tenure of Godwin Emefiele as governor, a report has been released. The findings highlight various corrupt practices during President Buhari's istration and when Emefiele was CBN's governor. I think the former President should be probed and questioned by the EFCC for allowing such things to happen under his leadership. What do you think? No emotion, please! 3 Likes |
