Hi Everyone,

I applied for study permit on September 20, 2021 through NSE route. I got a request letter on November 1 to submit my original letter of acceptance, I submitted it on November 3. I haven’t gotten since then. My just shows that the additional document provided has been ed. I’m getting agitated.
Please how long does it take to get approval after submitting additional document requested? And how do I know when the visa office has started revising the document? I’m to resume March 2022, really getting worried, but I trust God

The portal will change to "We are reviewing the additional documents you provided" after which it will change to "not applicable". Subsequently, the final decision will be communicated to you. To expedite the review of the additional documents, please IRCC office in Nairobi via webform. Be rest assured that there is light at the end of the tunnel as there are higher chances of your visa been aprooved by the immigration officer in view of the request for your updated LOA.

When applying again for the second time, do you submit a separate SOP and a separate “Letter of explanation “ or just one as the letter of explanation?

If purpose of visit was among the generic refusal ground highlighted by the visa officer. You don't need to provide a seperate SOP in your application. Purpose of visit has to do with your reason for wanting to undertake the program in Canada, the reasonableness and lucrativeness of the program as well as how the program will substantially benefit your future career goals and prospects in Nigeria after studies in Canada.

Please which school offer ission on time? I applied to Memorial university and was told ission will be given 2-3months after jan 15 deadline.

I need a school that can give ission for sep 2022 between now and November. It's just to help me start visa application on time.

Makano, Frankrobbn1, Lekiboboe

Apply to Conestoga College (i.e if you're going for post study), literally ission takes a month.

So hubby got refused on Sunday. We have applied for his GCMS notes.

We are definitely reapplying. IRCC no go shame us.

NB. The refusal came in a week and in that period, there was no update on his profile other than confirmation of submission.

I regret to hear that your husband's study permit application was refused. From the refusal letter, the visa officer had expressed concerns about his "current immigration status" in the country where he is applying from. The reason behind this rejection is for the fact that your husband doesn't have a legal permit in his current country of residence. My professional advice in order to avert this refusal and get a positive consideration is that he should return to his home country, Nigeria where he has significant ties and reapply for a Canadian study permit. Other reasons for rejections "Purpose of Visit" and "Personal Assets and Financial Status" are standard refusal grounds. He should provide justifications for his proposed course of study and demonstrate that the program is directly relevant to his work experience. More importantly, if he has a ed business and assets in Nigeria, he could add them in his application and explain how these properties would compel his return home after studies.

Thanks for your response. I think I will try and apply for a course-based masters, because I think 63.2% is low for a research based masters program. That’s better right?

Course based masters are stress free, saves time and wouldn't require you to secure a supervisor prior to applying for the program. Please proceed with the application.

I regret to hear that your study visa was refused. Have you ordered for your case file to get a clearer insight about the refusal of your application?. I will recommend you share a detailed breakdown of your profile and the list of documents you submitted for your last refused application. This will enable me to ascertain whether there is a logical progression in your choice of program and be able to establish strong argument for your case.

The amount is insufficient to sponsor your education. Your sponsor is required to show proof of adequate and unenumbered funds for your proposed study in Canada.

My motto stands same: #Don't cheat on anyone, be truthful and transparent as possible and don't sugar-coat the immigration process for them. Let them know the challenges ahead of them and how they can puzzle out from the situation. This is very critical for your integrity and reputation.

I wish you well my brother and I'm glad you're back after two years. During my leisure, I will be here to provide my professional guidance and top-notch experience about the Canadian immigration processes.

Sorry about that guys. I'm and feel helpless

I empathise with your situation and we understand that you were scammed by a dubious person on this platform. However, your complaint will be best forwarded to the Bank Head office with evidence of payment and subsequently follow up with the EFCC. Apparently, you're derailing the thread by posting your complaints incessantly. This platform strictly prohibits posting topics which are not relevant to the purpose it was originally created. Kindly refrain from posting further complaint and forward your request to the responsible offices mentioned above to assist you on this matter.

My advice to everyone:

Please be very careful as a lot of fraudulent persons are looking for the slightest opportunity to rip off your hard earned money. Before you pay anyone, make sure you have done your due diligence on the person, the authenticity of the services the person you're paying to offers, most especially when it has to do with visa processing and guidance. Numerous stories are springing up everyday as many are claiming to be experienced in the immigration industry. Please don't fall prey to them. This is a very brief warning for an intelligent person!

I wish everyone the best in their pursuit for academic and career excellence!

To show career progression, it is highly advisable that you should opt for a course that is directly relevant with your work experience. In essence, what you're presently doing would determine your course of study in Canada.

How to even apply for ission online and stuffs like that.

Let me make things easier for you, search for Master of Arts in Economics at University of New Brunswick, the tuition goes for 8kcad and no tuition payment is required until the first day to start of classes.

Get your documents ready and quickly apply to the school and thank me later cool.

Good morning everyone, please I would like to seek your candid advise on my Canada study application. I studied microbiology (B.sc) graduated with 2.2. also, i had 63.2% weighted average mark in M.Sc in the same discipline with 3 years work experience in an health care facility as well.
An agent applied for a post baccalaureate diploma in health care management and I have been itted to the school. I would like to know if I am going in the right direction before I proceed with my visa application? Please help o!!

Kindly be informed that your chances are quite slim to secure a Canadian study visa, given that you already have a Master's in same field of study and now opting for a Post Baccalaureate diploma in health care management. The visa officer will most definitely decline the application as there is no logical progression between your past education and intended program. The responsible immigration officer will have the impression that you're using study permit as a means to facilitate relocation to Canada rather than educational advancement. My professional advice for you is to apply for a Second Master's or a fully funded PhD program.

It's just one way of showing proof of fund. You're right at the bold, but where full tuition is paid and GIC covers living expenses for the entire study duration, the VO will not have concerns that the funds may not be accessible.

It is true that it would demonstrate adequate financial sustainability for your proposed course of study in Canada. However, you can do same by having the funds in your Nigerian bank . Nonetheless, while working on showing proof of financial sufficiency, also extensively substantiate your family ties in Nigeria and purpose of visit to Canada for these are the three basic requirements for issuance of a Study Permit. Failure not to cover other criteria oftentimes result in the rejection of an immigration application.

@Frankrobbn1 sir, please what do you have to say about the new IRCC ways of sending BVL and not PPR in days and even weeks?

I have also noticed the new development from other applicants concerning sending BVL without PPR. It is pertinent to note that IRCC officers are aware of the existence of platforms like Nairaland and other interconnected Canada visa forums. They know that people come to these platforms to seek advices on their application and share information about IRCC mode of operations, and as such this often leads to the frequent changes on IRCC working techniques and communications with clients in a bid to ensure that no one can fully comprehend the entire visa application process. The periodic changes often occurs towards the end of every year and its standard for IRCC immigration system. If you happen to find yourself in this situation, do not panic but be hopeful for a positive assessment.

Hello Destination

Review Required

Your file is probably awaiting final review by a senior officer. You should be fine if there are no discrepancies in your IMM Forms.

If your eligibility is ed/met, then the RR was probably a note by an analyst and an officer has reviewed the analyst's comments and subsequently ed you. If eligibility is ed, you're probably all good. If not ed, you should be hopeful

Hope this helps

Peace

Makano - hope you ed the nickname I gave to you in 2018? "Man with zero tolerance" grin grin. I can recall how strict you were with newbies back then and always encouraged them to read past threads before asking their questions.

If your eligibility review starts, does that mean background checks has been completed?

Background check will be updated as completed same day you submitted your fingerprints for biometrics at the VAC. The review of eligibility is the last stage of the immigration process and is processed by the Senior Immigration Officer who makes the final decision/review on applicant's case.

GIC PALAVA

Good day, all.

Please, I need your help.

I opened a GIC with a Canadian Bank. I was sent an to pay to latest by Wednesday this week.

I have tried to open a domiciliary with GTBank and Zenith to no avail.

I have operated a savings with GT Bank for more than 15 years now. I thought as an old customer I'll be given some consideration, but I was wrong.

I went to Zenith, the same story. The Manager said he has no powers to open a domiciliary , only the head office does. That even if he forwards my application, it will not be approved.

I know people have gone through similar challenges before. Please, how did you go about it.

I await your responses. Thanks in anticipation.

I can't in any of the IRCC regulations and manuals for Nigerian applications which states that applicants should've their living expenses in a GIC. The instruction was that applicants or sponsors should show proof of unenumbered funds in their various bank s. I would say that you guys are going way beyond the requirements by opening and depositing funds in GIC. This is not a requirement for Nigerians albeit rather for citizens of Indians, Brazil, Pakistan, China and other related countries with economic partnership agreement with the Canadian government. In a nutshell, having a GIC does not in anyway improves one's chances of getting approval.
