It's a shame that your mind is full of hate, inferiority complex is your problem. If I should ask you where you are from, I won't be shocked to here Anambara or Imo. You guys can only wish to be from Wawah, but wishes ain't horses. You can only use this your stupidity on non easterners who don't know east. Those who do know that no state in the east can be compared to the wawa state. Name your state and let's compare.
Why did you have to drag Anambra into this? Why not just attack the idiot directly?

Hi, I called the FlexiSAF guys earlier today and they said all we had to do was on the site. But after following your instructions above, I think we need to do more than just . Thanks to you, I have managed to get through the first part of the DAAD application.
Give me their please. . .can't the page where I saw it.

I would say it depends on the relevance of the professional bodies to your intended course of study and to your career and personal development. For instance, if you plan on specialising in a field of Engineering that focuses on Risk and Safety Management, then your professional hip in these two organisations will contribute immensely to your application. So if you feel that your professional hip has contributed to your career journey or has a connection to the intended program of study then it wouldn't be a bad idea to include it. You can even include in your statement of purpose a thing or two about the experience you have had as a member of these professional bodies, the impact it has had on your career and personal development and finally tie it to your future goals with the degree you will obtain with the scholarship.

Hope this helps. You can email me at [email protected] for assistance with your statement of purpose or research proposal.
Thanks for the tip. I appreciate.

salahudeentope:

Add everything even if it's landlords' association (joking about this though). Essentially anything that can remotely your application please add.

you're in a competition with a lot of people and since there won't be an exam, all that will be taken into consideration is what you submit as part of your application.

Cheers and good luck
Thank you very much.

Academic transcript
Recommendation letter
Degree certificate
CV
Study project/ Motivation
Invite from host institution
Time schedule
Miscellaneous (this could be a certification)
List of publication

All in PDF formats
This invite from Host Institution sounds confusing. Thought we weren't to apply ourselves? Thanks for the tips given.

All of you that is done with the application, the form filling is another area I feel we'd have problems (let me speak for myself). How did you scale through? It's tough trying to do that.

I strongly believe the personal statement will count towards the selection of outstanding candidates from the applicants' pool. According to the information on the scholarship website, there are 4 criteria listed for assessment of candidates:

1. Academic merit
2. hip of professional bodies
3. Viability of the study/research plan
4. Statement of purpose
Do Red Cross and Nigerian Society of Engineers (which I was a member of during my undergraduate days) count?

I ask again - do you think Buhari will be a gentleman during 2019 elections seeing that many Nigerians gave him the "thumbs up" to trample on our rights since 2015?

I mean, someone who never accepted he lost elections after contesting thrice?

Also, the way I'm seeing old names resurfacing, when will Uncle Gbawe return seeing he was the chief campaign manager here on Nairaland?

So you actually believe there is any politician currently in Nigeria who would prosecute his core ers?

You know your problem, you think Nigeria is a first-world Western country. This place is a 3rd world country where people still vote based on religious and ethnic sentiments. Where Buhari would get 12 million votes in 2019 whether he campaigns or not.

Tell me the politician you believe in Nigeria who would prosecute his core ers. Just one name!

I'm glad Buhari won. At least, I won't hear "He is the best president Nigeria never had". Nigerians should enjoy their change.

pls bro,put me tru on how u ed on d daad website,i am still unable to . thanks.
Hey all, just found this out, thanks to a friend that hinted me on visiting PTDF page.

1. Go to the original PTDF page using google search or click this link https://ptdf.gov.ng/2017-2018-ptdf-scholarship-scheme-overseas-local/

2. Click on scholarship and once the link is open, click on the + sign under ; the link to ing on DAAD is there (I do not know if it would work here) - https://portal.daad.de/irj/portal

3. Once open, using your email, then, they will send you a link to activate registration.

4. Sign in after activation.

5. You will see different tabs which have the following Start, Project Funding, Personal Funding, Insurance etc.

6. There was nothing in Start but instructions of which I'd advise you read.

7. Click on Personal Funding and a list of suboptions will appear.

8. Go through the tabs on Personal Funding; for me, I skipped to Application.

9. Once on the Application tab, select Nigeria-German Masters Program 2018. (that's where I currently am and still figuring it out).

Note: as you follow the above, please, ensure you read properly and double check.

You're welcome. kiss

Dmainman, a little help needed here. Is it that we should just with DAAD or are there certain things we have to fill (I ed the DAAD form and what I seeing there such as project supervisor etc. requires us applying ourselves). Please, modify your post on DAAD as the deadline is on 31st Jan.

Do you know that according to Chinua Achebe, appointing a king was a form of taboo in Igbo land? Most Igbo settlements were villages nor heavily populated, poorly equipped militarily. They could not withstand the superior military might of the Binis and their allies.

All those guys had to do was organize raiding parties overpower the Igbo resistance and that was it.
Poorly equipped military yet, they waged war against the British for close to 40 years. The Binis have never claimed to conquer Igboland or fight them unlike when of recent, Lagos and Ado-Ekiti were being debated. I really do wonder where you get your history from. Isn't it Maclatunji, the one who enjoys twisting things to suit his purpose? undecided

LOL! Of a truth, the narrative has been making sense.

bibe:

The Nri kingdom which influenced most of Igbo culture and civilisation was the oldest kingdom in present day Nigeria by historical sources and at it's zennith expanded up to margins of then and yet to metamorphosize bini empire.

With the birth and Rise of the bini empire it also extended it's influence further west crossing Agbor and up to present day Asaba (this why you have a lot more igbo cultural influence than that of bini in this areas) before it's fall.

Thus the Nri kingdom being the older had consolidated is influence way before and longer before the bini empire did.
On the contrary, I think the Nok culture (from which it was claimed the Yoruba and Bini culture are an offshoot of it) was the oldest in present day Nigeria.

I don't think you were referring to me but I me chip in, anyway.
What influence do Edo people had or have on Igbos? If Edo had an influence on Igbos it was on people of Onicha and the influence was contained there in Onicha or maybe a bit further into Anambra and not Igbos in General as you and your mischievous fellows are trying to paint it.

Your last paragraph, though. Where there ever a German, Italian, Greek or Roman invasion of England? How do you explain the so many borrowed words in English language?

Your ignorant self won't let you know that there is no superior language. You think inferior languages borrow from superior ones.
Even the Bini influence on Onicha is debatable. I mean, people would always refer to Eze Chime (a reverse migration which occurred then) as if there weren't people living after the Niger river.

P.S.: I do not think it went further down into Anambra.

Stages of the application this year
1) Application
2) Shortlisting
3) Interview
4) Selection
Those who are to be shortlisted will be required to submit their transcript prior to the interview. Those with an attractive and complete transcript stands a good chance of making it to the interview. Your performance at the interview will determine whether you will be selected for the OSS or LSS (there is no separate application for LSS this year).
I'm curious. Do you work with PTDF or was there something similar last year?

Are transporters in parks not private businessmen operating for profit? Cattle breeding is part of the activities that adds to the economy and further the Agriculture subsector, so yes, it is the job of government to ensure ease of doing business.

With a grazing territory they would remain in business and still not trample on crops of farmers like the way they are doing in open grazing.

Beside, if they were Ijaw/Igbo, I will advocate same...

Meanwhile, who says a non-Fulani can't go into cattle breeding business when ranch is provided?
The bolded has been happening in the SE and we have not heard of cases of a cattle owner causing harm and destruction to farmers there so ranching is nothing new.

Painstaking garbage.

Why massaging the issues ?

Who are the both sides in this issue that this mor.on refers to?

The murderers and their murdered victims?
The survivors who are mourning their losses and the criminals still at large ?

The article is shallow and empty, the kind of empty, cowardly rhetorics that are peculiar to politicians,. But in this case, not just any politician, but ones who think they owe some kind of axx-licking allegiance to the Fulani fiefdom in Nigeria.

The writer shockingly omits to acknowledge the increasing tempo of mass murders committed by Fulani herdsmen against community after community in Benue and other states over the last few years.

The writer plays the proverbial ostrich by pretending that recurring events of Fulani herdsmen ( yes, FULANI herdsmen) and their or.gies of mass murders are simply misunderstandings between two friends or communities.

The writer painstakingly omits to berate the federal government and body language of the present leader , whose very loud silence and tepid response to these mass killings does nothing but embolden the killers.

Funny that this writer used much harsher words to berate Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB, who, throughout their angry struggles with Nigerian state, neither carried arms nor threatened any Nigerian citizen with violence.

When I realize that we have plenty of people with a very dishonest and cowardly disposition on very critical national issues like the writer, it makes me want to vomit. Seriously.

There is only one side of this issue, not two.
People, a mass of people , are being repeatedly murdered and genocided by FULANI herdsmen , who happen to enjoy the of the present government, at least the president, for sure.

Stop trying to obfuscate the very very sad issue.
It's a grave insult to the victims, and emboldens the terrorists that they have legitimate grievances.
Apt again.

The write-up reminds me of how the IGP dismissed the whole thing and reduced it to a "communal clash". He is definitely eyeing a very big position in the future hence why he is trying to be politically correct.

Teempakguy:
astonishingly, it does!

I mean, of course it does, IF the post above is true then it makes sense that we're all basically black and as such, each feature that is unique to each race is a result of adaptation. Therefore, intelligence should also be a result of this, and it makes sense:

intelligence is the ability to learn fast, adapt to new stimuli and find patterns quickly.

From this definition, it's pretty obvious that people who migrated would need to be more intelligent than their peers who stayed home. In the face of changing climate, new fauna, diverse terrain, and deadly new plants, stupidity would select itself out, only the smartest ones would be able to figure out how to keep adapting to their new world.

What immediately follows is war. Clans and tribes fighting, first over resources, then over territory, then just for the rush, and in this case as well, only the smartest clans would win out. Back in Africa, food was plentiful(sort of) territories were marked out by natural features such as rivers and thick forests, and nothing changed for millenia! Of course we turned out dumber. Our ancestors did the same thing for thousands of years and it worked, of course, their descendants would tend to blindly stick to what they knew and hope things would turn out better.

Again, closely tied to intelligence is curiousity, which I guess is what would propel anyone to leave their comfort zone and explore, so here we're looking at a race with curious ancestors, who were naturally selected for intelligence, versus a race with ancestors who were comfortable and who never had to come up with new ideas to save their own lives.

When you look at it that way, the fact that the true blacks, us, have been able to almost catch up with the rest off the world in less than two centuries is amazing, given the fact that our ancestors primed us for repititive tradition and lazy consumerism.
Expect a certain moniker called Ross...ki to quote you and insult you. Wait for it! grin But I see your point.

Blakjewelry:

the cradle of civilization is the middle east and that is hundreds of thousands of years after a lot has happened in Africa which are unwritten history. most of transition phase take place in Africa except you want to follow the Bible view

Well, I agree about the unwritten history.

My first comment on sex dolls here and what I thought of the first time I read it (when people were saying that they cannot entertain you as they are immobile or are bigger versions of baby dolls) has come to and it was this: we are yet to see the full potential of these dolls.

No matter how we look at it, these bots will keep evolving, from using advanced materials to make better bodies for them to studying the rhythm of pornstars/survey conducted on couples by data scientists/other persons during sex. Who knows? You may even be able to the behaviour, including how they talk, of any of your favourite IndecentStar OTA. Then they'll prolly advance to a ghost-in-the-shell like character where they actually look and feel like real humans and try engaging you in your interests via an interesting conversation after you have been satisfied.

I hope there won't be a skynet here where the bots would stop following the three basic laws that govern them according to Asimov because that would be gory to witness.

One thing I am curious about though is this: how do they dispose of the semen in them? Do you wash it away or are there some kinda chemicals one pour into the 'supposed' sex organ of the machine?

Berlyn1:
I doubt if she Will be able to call out some Africa names. ..
Please, doubt no more for it will happen! As long as AI has come to stay, the bot will self learn.

Apparently, history (biblically, if I am not mixing things up as it seems there is a verse in the bible that alludes to it) has it that Satan, initially known as Lucifer in Heaven was--if I recall correctly--the angel who handled entertainment and anything music was through him. So it would be safe to deduce that he can. grin grin cheesy grin grin
