AlmiqhteeAllah:
This one got to me:

Naruto is rotten to the core.

Naruto drums in the idea that state is more important than your family over and over, love the state, Sacrifice yourself for the state, those who oppose the state are fools, anyone with legitimate grievances towards the state should endure and do nothing.

Naruto demonises a group of people for trying to lead a coup against a Fascist Military Dictatorship, whilst canonizing a man who murdered his family in the name of national security. By the end of the series Naruto and Sasuke have become part of the System, neglecting their families because the state is more important, indoctrinating a new group of children into the religion of the state.

There is no culpability in Naruto. You can commit crimes against humanity that would make Josef Mengele blush and be left alone to your own devices. Naruto takes a stroll with Orochimaru through his hideous laboratory and doesn't even bat an eyelid.

I consider this to be the most important point raised. What do you all think of the Uchiha Affair? Konoha and Uchiha remind me of Nigeria and the Igbos, and the moral and political issues involved are quite similar.

What are your views on the issue?

Not that state was more important than family but that the next generation is important. It taught us that whatever we do, we should always think of the next generation. This led Minato and Kushina sacrificing themselves for Konoha, it led to Tobirama being a decoy to let the next generation live and carry on the will of fire, it led to Itachi killing his clan, having experienced what was is, it led to Jiraiya sacrificing himself despite having the chance to escape and regroup, it led to Neji sacrificing himself for Naruto and Hinata to see a peaceful Konoha where there will be no caste system, it made the stubborn Oonoki change his hard stance on using the bijuus as weapons for war etc.

Danzo had no legitimate grievance towards Konoha except that they have become soft that other villages can now try to wage war on them.

Indra, Madara, Danzo, Pain all thought ruling the world with force was the solution to peace; Ashura, Hashimara, Hizuren, even Itachi all thought that cooperation with one another will bring about peace and this can be applied to our current world.

What about this?:

Naruto's Complete Inability to Empathize With Others Unless He Can See Himself in Them in Some Manner

This is really just awful character trait, especially for a leader. I explained in detail in this post before the series ended, and it's still very accurate. There is this idea, aggressively promoted by Kishi, that Naruto is "understanding", that there is something innately special about him because he can understand and help others. This is true to a small extent. Naruto can only understand others, and is only even interested in helping others, when he sees himself in them and can turn the conversation to himself. He never cared about Gaara at all until he discovered their similarities. Obito? That was someone he repeatedly expressed disinterest in until he found out he wanted to be Hokage and then whoah, best friends! Because he had a chance to make everything about himself. Sakura and Kakashi, his own team-mates, are regularly ignored, their feelings trampled on by Naruto, because he can't identify with them. Sasuke, his own best friend, he is suddenly disinterested in unless Sasuke says something that he can turn into a rivalry with himself.

Throughout the entire series he very, very rarely questioned "why" of anyone except for villians who he found he could manipulate. This shows extreme selfishness, sometimes hidden under the guise of superficial empathy, again a terrible trait for a leader.

How true is this? Do you see it the same way?
He was never 'best of friends' with Obito. . .lol. Heck, he only appreciates Obito for his contribution towards ending the war in form of protecting him from being struck by Kaguya and for also reviving him. He saw the most innate desire of Obito, which was being a hokage (Naruto's dream), he saw how lonely Obito was (an orphan like him) and constantly did things to be acknowledged by the village, he saw Obito's struggles with his teammate and his love for Rin who loved Kakashi in turn (or so); this enabled him empathize with Obito because he had been there.

Gaara was not his business till Gaara threatened his friends and the village he loved, that was when he stepped in. Till the end, he fought even when they were both on the floor till Sasuke told him that Sakura and others were safe before he lost consciousness. Gaara turned out good later on having seen a jinchuuriki who was happy with his power and how he used it to protect those he loved unlike the way he Gaara was using; he even helped in their trying to bring Sasuke back to the village.

I wouldn't deny the talk-no-jutsu was a bit annoying but really, he was able to achieve some of these because he had somehow been in their position.

However you're right. Naruto failed in his quest. He failed to bring a true end to the hate and vicious cycles of war in ninja world. He failed to quench the caste system in hyuga clan.

He failed to honor Itachi, I'm rather disappointed in him. Him and Kakashi Hatake.
No sir! I somewhat disagree with you. Naruto may have ended it as evident from his marriage to Hinata (the heir to the Hyuga clan which we know the Hyugas don't marry outside their clans, not especially the heirs). The manga never said so about him not honouring Itachi, besides, Itachi would have want to remain the 'villain' in the history of Konoha. Also recall Naruto made certain information about the Uchihas classified; this is to protect the Uchiha, and this also made Sarada feel loved among the villagers. If he didn't and everything about the Uchihas was taught at the academy, she may have been worse than Naruto and Sasuke in of loneliness.

AlmiqhteeAllah:
Nice. I hope you realize it wasn't MY opinion, though. smiley

Who could that be?
Yes bro! I realise it wasn't your opinion. Apologies if my post came across as attacking you. As for the Otsutsuki, it is yet to be revealed.

The above has Momoshiki and Kinshiki. The last by the left is yet to be revealed.

AlmiqhteeAllah:
The Naruto series has ended and I still remain a fan. I really love the series. It's one of my favourite manga and anime series.

So, I was on tumblr a few days ago, and came across certain criticisms of the Naruto series and the eponymous character himself. And, being the objective type, I think the concerns raised are issues worth talking about. I personally think there were many ideas and objectives Kishimoto raised at different point in the series which he seemed to have discarded, and failed to either solve or address in the end.

The following is what a critic has got to say about Naruto Uzumaki. I wanna know what you guys think:

Pro-ending people often yell at us like "No one said Naruto is perfect, it has flaws, but....."

and I'd be thinking "Naruto is just flaws".

99% of the anime I've watched have some glaring flaws, and I don't make a blog to shit on them. Naruto is different, it's mostly just made of flaws. Good points are few and far between. The entertaining thing about Naruto is it's so bad it's funny. You'd never expect a 15 year shonen series to end without a single positive change, without a single important thing resolved, right? but that's exactlu what happened in naruto. Not a goddam change in the shinobi system.

Most literature for children tell them you can change the world if you fight for what's right e.g Hunger games and Harry Potter. Naruto tells you don't try to change anything, you'd fail. Just conform to authorities and the status quo, and you'd be recognised. Naruto is just unbelievable, tbh I do feel bad for those anti who say Naruto is their childhood.

What are your thoughts on this?
Nothing changed ke? How about the peace and cooperation that was achieved? Weren't the villages at loggerheads with one another till Naruto made them have the peace they currently are enjoying?

Were people not later on friendly towards the bijuus? The same Naruto taught people about what my siggy says.

I hopefully should dissect other points tomorrow.

comradespade:

Ego? That ain't right.

I know they are still going a dreadful opponent which is even bigger than black zetsu and kaguya...so what you said is just an assumption. Let's see how it all plays out.
There's an Otsutsuki remaining and I think he's going to be more powerful than Momoshiki and Kinshiki combined.

Rigging will work.

Jega did not leave an unbreakable system. Moreover, GEJ gave Jega free rein because he felt the 2011 elections was proof of Jega's loyalty, he was wrong. Buhari and his cabal are not making that mistake.

He'll rig the elections and nothing will happen. If Buhari contests, he has won the election.

Who would vote him out? The voter apathy in the SS/SE in 2019 would be worse than in 2015. The SW will be contested as usual. The Middle Belt is still the Fulani's playground. And if Buhari could get 1 million votes in two states under GEJ, is it when he's in power that he'd get less.

And more importantly, who will count votes? The Army is already doing police work. You think they'll sit idly by in 2019, and not be used brazenly.

This is a man that stormed Kwankwaso's brothers house, canceled Atiku's Intels contract, arrested Lamido and his sons. Yet he hasn't declared intentions to run.

GEJ losing in 2015 is like Leicester winning the premiership in 2016. It was abnormal, not the new normal.

-Lord
Succinctly put. As much as I hate to it it, he'd win 2019 elections and then, Nigerians will know what brutality really is.

I ws shocked reading comments from previous threads that tried absolving PMB of this shameless and classless act going on recently. What is it with people and shifting the blame whenever PMB's hands are caught in the cookie jar? Why can't he just president-up and take responsibility for his actions? Which one is he was misguided? Why do we find it convenient to excuse him for wrong doings while raising the bar that we have lowered for him when it comes to Jonathan? Why can't we just treat them with the same standard? Why are we this hypocritical in this country? It is sickening!!!!!

When he finally leaves office in 2023 (because as much as I hate to it it, I see him winning should he contest), the monumental corruption that would trail his tenure would be unprecedented especially the six months absence of ministers (which I still expect cretinous imps to defend) and his numerous medical trips. Dude's been demystified and his integrity charade (not like he had any to begin with) has been laid bare for all to see.

And while we are at it, where are the numerous BMC crews to work for their pay? Come and defend your master because you are needed in this crucial time.

Opened in 1994, the Channel Tunnel is an undersea connection between England and .

Crossing the English Channel, the tunnel holds the record for longest undersea portion, at 37.9 km (23.5 mi) out of a total length of 50.5 km (31.4 mi).

The tunnel reaches a depth of impressive 75 m (250 ft) and allow trains to travel at 160 kmh (99 mph).

With the channel tunnel engers can travel from London to Paris in just 2 hours 15 minutes.

They went below the sea bed for almost 50km.
If this worked, then, I can bet that Elon's planned Hyperloop and the recent one of traveling between two cities in half an hour will work, also, not forgetting that of the underwater road (forgotten what it's called) in the fjords of Norway that is being proposed and will shorten travel time.

From the very first page of this thread, credit was given to the Ekoi as the innovators of the system. It always amuses me when Akwa-Cross people get so worked up when Igbos discuss Nsibidi --- even after the Igbo have clearly stated that it was originally imported from outside Igboland.

Makes me wonder if Europeans get ticked off when Riverine men wear bowler hats as part of their culture. Or if Indians have a meltdown when we call 1,2,3 Arabic numerals. Even the Latin alphabet you are talking about was adopted by the Latin people (the Romans) from the Greeks with little improvements. You don't hear the Greeks crying and begging for credit. The credit is there in the history books; it is not going anywhere.

Nsibidi has been adopted and adapted into the fabric of Eastern Igbo culture for centuries now, and is part and parcel of Eastern Igbo heritage as much as it is yours. Find some way to live with that.
I had to go back to the first page to be sure the OP did attribute the origin to Ekoi people and found it there. He also went further to talk about the Ekpe society. I wonder why the guy is irked. . .

Let us assume they 'pronounced' them terrorist, why is Enenche's statement of IPOB being declared a terrorist seeing as he's the spokesman of the Defense Headquarters which means he spoke for the Nigerian Army as an organisation, different from Buratai since both work for the same organisation? Why did it take the backlash of Nigerians, lawyers and other people to point out the illegality of what the army did before they backtracked?

manny4life:

What prevented him from doing so in the last 3.5 years ? Obiano is a certified failure and deserves to be booted out. Under Peter Obi, Anambra was a case study and known for financial prudence, more importantly, we were recognized as an economic powerhouse. Peter Obi's primary focus was driving investments into Anambra, heck even the CBN recognized Anambra in their 2014/2015 pre-cashless study conducted. There were meaningful & worthy investments and partners, and on a positive note, Anambra was one of FIVE states that ed a sustainability debt test. Have you looked recently at Anambra's deficit lately? Peter Obi left a fat for the drunkard Obiano, today, Anambra is saddled with much debt can it can probably pay for... Please tell us why Obiano's case is different?I'm not a fan of Peter Obi, and he was certainly not the best because I criticized him, but heck he's miles ahead Obiano whose istration is laced with lies and deceit... 4 years after and he's yet to "start", who's deceiving who?
