Our people think it is fun to have children. They forget these children have to be raised for at least 25 years using the Nigerian system. For the next 25 years, they are spending on three people to be responsible human beings. I don't know why they think having children is fun. The koko is in raising children.

Forget the advices of people saving and buying land from 60k and 30k salary. They are thieves, stealing from company. It's just practically impossible, with feeding, school fees, transport and extended family wahala.

Actually it's nothing new.

I know someone as far back as 2009 working at a local government in Lagos. This person salary isn't more than N25,000.

But at least in a day, This person comes home with N20,000. Sometimes when market moves very well, he comes home with N50,000. So on as so fault. I usually marvel whenever he covers his whole floor room and counting money. Then i was quite still young and don't know much.

I later discovered these stuffs also happens in private companies, Mma 1, Mma 2, Alimosho, Apapa, Wharf, Ladipo, Alaba etc..

That's how most people make money in Nigeria. It's not news. You literally have to cut corners and manipulate no matter how little. Else na Food and rent money you go dey see

I hope this my post gets to the FP, so I can get insights from a wider audience; even I know some might not make sense, but one thing I've learnt from the short time I ed this platform, is that - sense dey inside nonsense.

Pardon me, my write fit dey a bit lengthy.

I currently work with a multi-national startup coy. My net pay is a bit above 400k naira (this's at the moment), I've worked for about 2 years. I'm married with two kids and expecting the third.

Now my dilemma is that, I've not been able to save up funds, I feel like my living condition doesn't reflect what I earn. Shingbai like this, I no get for . The last I could , I go deep hand for forex, e nearly give me hypertension (I lost about 2m). I still dey pay debt wey I incur as a result.

Now where I need assistance is, looking at the amount I'm earning, how do I spend? Please for those that will be kind enough to give suggestions, let it practically explained, as in help me break am down to the amount wey I suppose spend, how I suppose spend am, and wetin I suppose save.

I believe say many family people dey here wey get better experiences.

Your just lucky to get the 400k job. Your biggest mistake is having more than a child in this bastardized economy.

Just have only one child, Lock up and setup your wife business wise. Save up enough and flee the country.

The problem of this country is you literally need money CASH to get every damn thing you need. No space for breathing at all.

Cost of living plus family responsibilities will make your 400k per month feel like 30k per month.

I don't know what your plans are but if you can find a way to reduce house rent and school fees cost you might be able to save something.

My wife had a friend whose husband was on 60k per month salary in 2015, somehow he managed to save and buy land, started doing uber part time then later resigned his job and faced Uber fully and was able to save to build the house they are living in now.

He moved to Canada in 2022 and she ed him last year with their daughter.

I think their game plan was to set a target e.g buy land, build house, travel abroad, start side hustle and save as if their life depends on it to achieve that target.

Try and set goals then work on those goals as if your life depends on achieving it. It may work, it may not. Just my 2 cents.

All these things dey feasible on paper.

Many Nigerians won't tell you 30% of what they really did to get to where they are. You go hear, My brother Na God do am ooo.

I will try and keep this short, I have an aunty who works with one of the FG parastatals but she is contemplating on reg. Reasons being:
1) the transport fare takes more than 50% of her monthly earnings as the distance between her house and workplace is far (ikorodu to CMS)
2) due to the distance she does not have the time to take care of her children as she has to leave very early and return late at night.

Ever since she told me, I tried to convince her to just hold on as i strongly believe that the minimum payment will be reviewed soon which will address the issue of salary but she stated that my solution does not address the other challenge of negligence of children.

Please i need advice on what she can do to get to work faster amd return home faster

Also, the husband is a business man that owns a business in the CMS area, I will be in the comments.

There are series of runs to engage in anything Government Jobs. Just tell her to socialize with the rest of the workers and they will carry her along.

Most Nigerian Government Workers don't touch or depend on their salaries. That's why you will see them keep working even if they are not paid one year salary arrears.

What is wrong is that a country with multi ethnic nationalies cant run a unitary security system. This is wrong, Nigeria will continue to bleed because all her problem even from the first civil war has been about ethnic issue.
Why cant we just accept this? We can still live as one country but allow regions have total control of their security, borders, etc. This way, they can manage their security by them selves. The current security system has been compromised due to ethnic intetested. It is deep. Nigeria is finished.
