Bro, all what you need is to travel out to a place where your mind will be at ease that you are save when commuting. I have the same fear like you (but doesn't reach ur level), when I dey naija anytime someone is traveling or I'm traveling I always say aurevoir in my mind, what mostly triggered it was the deadly accident I have seen happening, the religion people telling you so many people went out and didn't came back, the news headlines always glorifying/sweet-quoating gashtly accidents like it's normal, hit and run, people not obeying traffic sign, unworthy motors on the bad road, police people, fulani people and the terrorist bandits. But, since I have been to like a year now, I believe 90% if I went out I will come back home. If I have an accident within minutes rescue will arrive, everybody is their brother's keeper. I even love going out more now. My prayer now is that if I want to come home 2 years now, make the thought no come back, because with what I'm hearing at home, I dey fear for people at home. |

I WILL NOT PRAY FOR VDM I will not pray for VDM. I won't beg you to cry for him. Don’t cry for him, Cry for yourselves— You, the blind men dancing in the fire, Thinking it’s disco lights. I won’t pray for VeryDarkMan, He doesn’t need your pity-prayers. He’s not the lamb—he’s the knife. He’s not the fallen—he’s the finger pointing At your decay wrapped in perfume. I won’t pray against GTB. I won’t waste breath on the EFCC That’s become a comedy skit in a uniform. No— I pray for you. You, who sip your tea While the country burns from the handle up. You, who wear chains But call them bracelets from Dubai. You, the goat on the grill, Smiling at the aroma of your own flesh, Boasting of the seasoning As if death tastes like jollof. I pray for you, The man who claps for the hangman Because he thinks the rope is a necktie. I pray for the woman Who posts Bible verses on Sunday But defends oppressors on Monday. I won’t pray for justice— Justice doesn’t beg. Justice walks in shadows And kicks doors when it’s tired of waiting. Don’t cry for him— Cry for your sons who will grow up thinking Silence is a survival strategy. Cry for your daughters Who will inherit your fear like family land. You cheer as they lock up VDM, You throw a party because your corrupt uncle’s name Was almost dropped like cold amala on a clean shirt. You celebrate— A pig clapping because the butcher spared him today, Forgetting tomorrow is market day. You, roasted grasshopper, Shining with oil That drips not from joy But from the fire consuming your spine. You call it "blessing" While your bones weep. You tweet “good riddance” When the voice that dared to speak Is dragged, gagged, and stomped on, But your turn will come— Not by prophecy, but by pattern. Your silence is a signature on your own verdict. I won’t pray against the thieves in office, They have overdosed on prayers— They eat Ramens of Amen like chin chin. Their pastors anoint their hands That dip into pension funds. I won’t waste breath on the thieves— They’ve turned prayer houses into laundromats. Their altars are built with stolen bricks, Their holy water is the people’s tears. Let them feast— The same teeth that chew the nation Will gnaw their own hearts when the plate is empty. I pray for you. You who think immunity is woven into your agbada, That your connections are bulletproof vests… Nemesis drives a danfo with no brakes, And your bus stop is already marked. You who dance on the graves of the brave, Don’t forget— The ground re footsteps And tombs don't forgive applause. Don’t cry for VDM— Cry for yourself. Cry for the day you beg for a savior, But all the brave ones are buried Beneath the rubble of your applause. Because one day, There’ll be no voice left to shout When your child is dragged from a bus For a crime invented on paper. When your salary disappears Into someone’s offshore . When you scream for help And the only answer Is your echo. Cry for yourself— You who were born a lion But trained by the system to only Bark. ~ By Graciano.

DaddyCoool:true true, you never jam omo lile. Three years ago, I dey RRS Cell. They carry one ikariko come. Naa from the boy cell president sent to collect cell money from him he started the beating, he beat the boy so bad, president wey everybody dey fear self fear. Everybody started calling officers to come and carry their load he almost kill someone. One of the RRS officer enter, the officer gave him a sounding slap, he retaliate immediately with a more sounding one. The officer can't believe it, he shouted yee, his fellow officers hear his cry they rush in, all of them descend on him, he's also wiggling his punch out of them. They handcuff him so tight and gave him a beaten, blood coming out of his deformed mouth, but still he no gree. You will be hearing him shouting Marcus Ogundola (the OC), laying big big curse on him for how his boys beat him, everybody in the cell just dey look, including the president. When the handcuffs started paining him, he became like a mad dog, pursuing everybody all about, we all kept shouting they should come and carry their mad man oh. They removed him from the cell, uncuff him. The next hour he's at the canter they kept him, asking people what brought them, acting like solicitor for the new commer. If any new police comes and ask why is he not in the cell, the other officers will ask him to leave him like that. That's when his craziness will start again, naa beg dem dey beg am last last. His case naa public disturbance, naa the second day he comot. They asked for his people to come and bailed him, he said he's his people. |

Guestmale:why are they stopping him in the first place, is the car a stolen one or someone inside the car have been declared wanted? If you don't know, police pulling you over is detainment, and before you can detained someone, there must be probable cause for it, (it's like checking someone's phone), detaining him illegally is an affront to his liberty of free movements as been enshrined by the constitution. Hope you learn something? 1 Like |

thomasjoe:very kid, and they plenty like that. Even if Edris is the initiator of the fight, they don't know the meaning of home ground (and they watch football), what he did was a message to foreign artists, the media, show organizers and the world atlarge saying we self dey and we no small. Maybe, they should go and listen to Buck's of the situation to know it's a defining moment for Nigeria/African music as a whole. But, I don't expect much from people who still behave like a slavę in 2025. 2 Likes |
