Samantha125: That's the xenophobia we're talking about. You shouldn't have to feel that way in the first place if you're a legal, law abiding immigrant. Personally, I don't even want to know what SA looks like, not to mention breathe its air. |

Bike taxi is okada, right? Why do I need an app to hail an okada? Something that is everywhere, I just need to walk out of my house to block. Why all the bells and whistles, AI, GPS, voice recognition, etc. What problem are they solving exactly?

Shouldn’t the term "labelling" apply to situations where someone is falsely accused of something? For example, Black South Africans are, in reality, some of the most welcoming people on earth. Yet, they are often (and falsely) labeled as xenophobic by their Nigerian counterparts. If there’s one person in a neighborhood who has issues with everyone else, isn’t it more likely that the problem lies with that individual rather than everyone around them? Similarly, when a group has issues with people from different countries, aren't we justified in looking into this group for why they can't get along with different other groups? It’s true that some Nigerians enter South Africa through illegal means and engage in criminal activities. However, this doesn’t mean that all Nigerians fall into this category, nor does it negate the reality of xenophobia in South Africa. This xenophobia isn’t directed solely at Nigerians but extends to other African nationals as well. South Africa’s own cyberspace is filled with evidence of this deep-seated hatred. And let’s not forget the incidents of outright violence that have erupted in the past as a result. If foreigners are in a country illegally or committing crimes, shouldn’t law enforcement and immigration agencies handle the situation in a civilized and lawful manner? Why must citizens resort to murder and the destruction of property to address issues that their own government seems unable to resolve? How can a legal immigrant—someone who is actively contributing to the economy of their host country—feel safe and at peace when the air they breathe is saturated with so much hatred? 1 Like |

I didn’t realize y'all took your bags so seriously. I guess we learn something new every day. As a child, my mother would send me to her bag to fetch things—usually money for an errand—and I can’t recall ever finding anything remarkable, even though I was a very curious child. Now, as an adult, no woman can send me to her bag for anything. The idea of snooping through a woman’s bag feels far beneath me. What would I even be looking for exactly? If I ever suspected my woman of running monkey business on the low-low, there are far better ways to gather evidence than rummaging through her bag.

papyjaypaul: Touché, just checked, Desktop isn't even their major source of revenue, server and cloud are. So even if another company competes in the desktop os market, it won't be enough to take them out with their hold on Azure and server OS. As at Q3 2024, Azure was doing better than Google Cloud with 20% and 12% market shares respectively (according to statistica.com). Thanks for sharing your insight. 1 Like |

I like her, because she's fine but honestly I don't believe this story. I know a fake story when I see one, especially by a bad liar, it'll be filled with unnecessary details, aimed at concealing the falsehood. If the man was calling her in the night with his proposal, she should just release the recording shikenan. He can now deny and say it's AI-generated then the court of public opinion will drag in forensic experts to access the recordings for validity. I no like nonsense wallahi. 1 Like |

Editorialtimes: What are they going out to study? Courses available in Kano or not? Wouldn't investing the resources into North West University and upgrading it to international standard or creating more jobs for the unemployed graduates on ground make more sense? You're shipping limited resources over to Europe when our own educational institutions are in a deplorable state. People will go to the ends of the earth to study only to come back and work the same jobs as us who went to public universities in Nigeria. Some of them are even unemployed. Where's the sense in this? 1 Like |

Kobicove: I understand your perspective—perception matters, and businesses naturally want to align with client expectations. As you've already noted, appearances can overshadow intent. But this raises more questions: Why do labour laws include anti-discrimination protections? Who crafts these laws, and who do they prioritize—employees or employers? If diversity policies risk alienating customers, why do many Western companies, especially in the U.S., actively promote them? Is it purely fear of lawsuits, or could embracing diversity improve a business’s reputation and profitability? Businesses lobby against harmful regulations, yet many comply with diversity mandates. Doesn't this suggest such laws also serve corporate interests, or is compliance a grudging concession to societal change? Lastly, let me cite a series of studies by McKinsey titled Diversity Wins, about how diversity is good for business. https://www.mckinsey.com/featured-insights/diversity-and-inclusion/diversity-wins-how-inclusion-matters Could ‘projecting diversity’ attract younger, "socially conscious" consumers, offsetting risks of alienating traditional clients? For all we know, this could be a coded PR stunt by Walmart after studying their customer base and realizing that this kind of stuff will buy their loyalty. And by the way, where the supermarket is located is VERY relevant. You simply can't down play the role culture plays in economics. 1 Like |

Kobicove: Where's this hypothetical supermarket located? What is the culture of the place? For example, my job doesn't allow common dreads, meanwhile, its equivalent in other places have people who wear this hairstyle without issue. Dreads or tattoos alone don't necessarily mean that a person automatically has a bad character, and not every culture views it that way. |

Arrowhead71: So, the Holy Spirit s the seizure of Gaza and the construction of a holiday resort on it? Would the Holy Spirit inspire a post like Trump’s? That’s the real issue here. I assume you’ve read the Bible or are at least familiar with the historical s in the Old Testament. If so, then you know that Israel’s conflict with its neighbors predates both Christianity and Islam. The core of the conflict has remained unchanged, it's the portrayal that is used to evoke sympathy and rally for different sides that takes on a modern flavour. What I’m asking you to do is objectively assess the morality of Trump’s plans—particularly his post, which is the focus of this discussion. Then, with your conscience as a Christian, ask yourself: is this the kind of message a "Christian" world leader should be putting out? 1 Like |
