Meet Mr. Bob Okey Okoroji, a Lagos-based constitutional lawyer, who has not not given up on his quest to govern Lagos State.

According to him, he is eminently qualified and can do better than the governors the state has produced so far.

Mr Okoye Okoroji who sought to govern the state twice, in 2011 and 2015 under the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, said he was encouraged to do so because he thinks he has what it takes to deliver.

Speaking in an interview with Daily Times, Okoroji argued that his ethnic origin should not be a factor, noting that as one who has lived in Lagos for about four decades, he is a complete Lagosian who can aspire to any position.

WHY LAGOS?

“I have always said it, and I will say it again, that I am still interested in governing Lagos,” Okoroji said. “And at any time I’ll make my attentions known. See, I have what it takes to take Lagos to the next level.

Not just that he is NOT bold but a silly scallywag, he is very UGLY! grin grin grin grin

See lagosian! grin grin grin

Not only lagosian, but abiasian! grin grin grin

If narrow gauge is the same as standard gauge, why not make the Eastern railway to be standard gauge so that eventually trains can run all over Nigeria without problems of one part of the country only having a certain category of trains that will run there from another part of the country?

Everyone knows the deceit that Amechi is unsuccessfully trying to hide or even justify. This is the reason why Nigeria will never develop!

the money being poured into this airport project can get Anambra 12 flyovers if that is what obiano wants.Already,he has built 3 flyovers and many bridges. Every state has its own area of need and obiano has invested heavily in agriculture and industrialization.
Another point to consider is that umahi has borrowed heavily while obiano is still keeping anambras debt profile low.
Also,if obiano implements the tax regime umahi did in Anambra, the state will boil over. Umahi taxes heavily business like those engaged in providing water (which is very essential in ebonyi)

I didn't want to give that one a benefit of any response. With due respect, I congratulate Umahi for all he has been able to do in Ebonyi state. I am so proud of Gov. Dave Umahi. However, to somehow suggest that he achieved more than Obiano is beyond hilarious. I guess since we didn't expect so much from Ebonyi and expected a lot from Anambra, we became so impressed by Umahi's achievement and took Obiano's achievement as merely "expected".

If he claims that Umahi performed better than Obiano, please let us list their achievements side by side and see who did more. Not minding that Ebonyi has only about 20% of the workforce population that Anambra has. Abakaliki where 95% of Umahi's projects are located is the size of Nnewi, and Afikpo is the size of Aguleri or Ihiala. Yet Anambra does more for many other towns and cities than Nnewi or Aguleri. Anambra also has the highest number of pensioners in SE and SS region! Yet, everyone of them will tell you that they are paid their emoluments on the 26th of every month! Even the amount of roads and hospitals done by Obiano in Aguleri alone trumps what Umahi did in Afikpo.

I would have listed the comparison of Obiano and Umahi side by side here. But, i don't want it to divert attention from the issues into something between Anambra vs. Ebonyi. Which isn't my point or my intention as i commend both men for their massive achievements.

However, from the length of roads completed (KM), number of bridges & total length in KM, agricultural intervention (including rice production which Ebonyi used to 1st), 5 star hotels, real estate development, Security interventions, Street light policy covering the entire state, new markets/ new SME production outfits/ industrial clusters, electricity to forgotten communities, airport, educational interventions to create quality schools, hospitals upgrade from primary healthcare to tertiary teaching hospitals, encouraging and getting foreign direct investments etc. Obiano beats Umahi hands down.

The only issue here is that everyone already viewed Anambra as the leader and Ebonyi as the underdog. Therefore, when the underdog performs so well to challenge the leader, everyone applauds the underdog for a job well done. It does not mean that Obiano still hasn't done better placing everything side by side .

I totally agree with you. Gov. Willie Obiano is truly the best. How he manages to find the money for all these projects is still mind boggling!

He is indeed a blessing to Anambra state. That is why criminal foreigners who hate Anambra always start their venom through expressing how they hate him. They are so frustrated that he routed criminals from the state. They prefer Anambra where they come from their states and rob and escape back to their area.

Anyway, i am glad that the ICC Awka is still progressing well and they left adequate space for where they would build the 5 star Awka Intercontinental hotel next to the ICC. It looks like they want the ICC and the hotel to share the common parking space between them.

Splendid!

Oga Chima, you are too much o! I had to embark on a little research to understand how you were able to come up with the probable runway number!

Yes, I agree with that RWY 22 should be the approach/landing runway. I tried to align the excavated runway area as much as possible with the cardinal points and i think the runway numbers may be 05 - 23 (L,R) or 06 - 24 (L,R). Although when the exact placement of the runway becomes updated in satellite maps it would be much easier to see the orientation. Of course by then, the engineers would have done the on site calibration with com to figure the exact orientation of the runway and the numbers. My prediction is that it will align most with 06 - 24 (L,R). Either way, whether the number ends up being RWY 22, 23 or 24, it makes absolute sense for that to be the approach/landing runway with the ILS systems.

BTW, I love how you guys help me learn new things everyday here! It shocked me that the runway numbers of every airport on earth matched the numbers in that chart if you can overlay the orientation of the runway perfectly on the chart pointing north! shocked shocked shocked
I didn't know that how they got the numbers written on runways! cheesy

It's highly likely to be one of the three pairs of runway numbers listed.

nteje airport road bridge nearing completion
Sweet bridge!

Based on the cardinal points orientation, the Anambra International airport runway is likely to have runway numbers 04 - 22 (L,R).

I wish the ILS would be on runway 22 so that landing or departing planes will not be seen, except you go to the airport area for plane spotting. grin I love cities with major airports where you will never see the planes coming or leaving except you go to the airport. One of the reasons I hate London and Lagos is the noisy planes all the time.

Nigeria does not allow food from America and other major agricultural countries because they didn't want their food to damage development of agriculture in northern Nigeria.

The south MUST reject the food being brought from the north to damage our agricultural development.

Silly goons!

Nigeria isn't better together. In fact, it has never been one country together. Else, how can you explain that the FG will have one set of laws for some Nigerians and another set of rules for others? How can you explain that the government will exploit people from one part of the country and impose huge taxes on them, while denying the same part of the country any investments?

How can you explain that people from outside of Nigeria are encouraged to go to the south and destroy farmlands, kill and pillage local villages while the so called government of Nigeria looks the other way and stays dumb? There are too many examples why Nigeria has never been together as one country and will NEVER be together as one country. The least we can do now is to discuss how to set up a confederal arrangement for the various regions, else nobody can stop the ongoing disintegration from running its natural course.

Southerners should confront fulani herdsmen and embrace farming. I will be uproating cassava this evening. The north should stop bringing us food

Their agenda for sending herdsmen from all over Africa into farms in southern Nigeria is to totally destroy agriculture in southern Nigeria and make it easy to conquer southerners.

Their plot is now visible to everyone who had doubted this plan for ages. The southerners should therefore totally prohibit open grazing on their farms and rise to the challenge of feeding its people.

Not to mention that petroleum products must be stopped from going to Fulani areas too.

DANGOTE is a Typical Fulani man. They are greedy to a fault. They want to totally monopolize Nigeria and exclude everybody else.

The worst thing is that they are too shallow in reasoning that such behavior makes people to oppose them more vigorously. Very soon Dangote's refinery will be allowed to use only oil from Chad basin and not oil of the southerners. Lets keep going and see where all these plots by Fulani to emasculate other Nigerians will lead.

Soon, the same Fulanis that have done everything to destroy agriculture in the south will come back begging for southerners to buy their food.

It is obvious that this has been an age long Fulani agenda to destroy agriculture in the south using rampaging herdsmen. Today, they are playing that card and it will fail woefully. But the lesson about their evil plan against agriculture in the south should never be forgotten by anyone.

NOTE: This thread is not created for hate purpose against any region

IF we observe carefully since 2015 look how things has been goin

.First blocking all southern nigeria borders. but left the north boarders open
(excuse they want too boost naira)
.Unleash mahem on southern farms with fulani herders
chasing our farmers from their farms

Now they stopped trade with the south Because the south asked them to stop terrorizing the region
or where they expecting the south to thank them or romace them for there criminal activities, check the north now almost a war zone due to there stupid romance with bandits and others

My Question what is the main goal of the north in all this.

It is good that Fulani have finally stopped being cowards and came out in the open with their plan to destroy agriculture in the south using Fulani herdsmen.

Now that they have come out in open with their plan, we must prevent that evil totally.

Nigerians are on a real bumpy ride.

Those Fulanis in DSS are the masterminds of all these. The Fulanis are plotting a militarization of the East. However it will backfire on them big time.

The Fulanis have been asking for war and pushing people beyond a point they will react. They should be ready because when it comes, it will not be like 1967. Both in tactics and scope.

Good job brother. Awka International conference centre is the best and finest in the entire eastern region. Adiro ama aka.

Hopefully, they will be serious with transforming the environment with flowers and trees. Even the Abuja ICC would have been a rubbish glass building if serious effort was not devoted to transforming the entire environment with flowers, grassing of open spaces and trees. One hopes that they will start now to map out the roads so it will be clear where they need to plant trees and flowers now.

Similarly, the Ibom resort which in itself is an ugly structure was transformed into a beautiful site because of the seriousness devoted to landscaping with trees and flowers. I heard Akpabio bought massive quantities of organic manures from local poultry farmers and inorganic fertilizers to treat the top soil to make the grasses lush and trees to grow quickly. The result is a true resort and lush golf course.

Many times, serious landscaping and attention to detail are more important than the design of the physical structure itself.

In all this hard time and no job, you are demolishing what you cannot provide? Why not confiscate and convert the FM station into state property, and then keep the people employed ? Doesn't Hope Uzodinma know that families depend on these businesses he is demolishing?

Is it not too late now? This should have been done since 2016, instead of shooting and killing unarmed street protesters for merely exercising their democratic rights to protest. Simply out of bigotry that these IPOB youths are more or else Christian Igbo youths, the Nigerian military had express orders to arrest and execute them to scare them away from agitating. Has that heavy handed tactics worked?

Truth is that it is too late now. They don't trust this government as this government does not want nor trust them.

This is why nobody can enter any plane run by the government and expect to come out alive.

The government does not maintain planes due to massive corruption. They just keep misusing the aircraft until someday it finally falls from the sky. They treat it like government vehicles which are given as brand news and after 6 -12 months of non-maintenance, the vehicle falls apart.

RIP to the dead.

That is why they sent them to the south to be doing kidnap business for them using southerners. They never condemn such evil.
But they frown at it when northerners are extorted by Fulani herdsmen abi?
