So 3 weeks after the devaluation of naira, the promises of a better and favourable forex regime, we're now back to base. Somewhere on this forum, a fellow was advocating for the panic sales of fx sales. Dollar traded for low as N320 at the parallel market while rates of N283 per $1 floated the air for interbank exchange rates 3 weeks ago. CBN intervened and much more than 6 billion dollars was traded at the interbank market to calm down wavy waters. Now the forces of market dynamics have prevailed and dollar is back to 355. Banks still charge up to 340 for a dollar on online transactions. Now, I beg to ask, what was the point of the whole naira devaluation stunt ? |

Hmmmmmmmmmmm Am speechless ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I wonder if the things like PTA, BTA and school fees are what really governs the market dynamics. Demand for fx will inevitably surge north of the 350 price in a few months. Finally, I hate whatever news doesn't translate into reality for the average man here in Nigeria. Dollar still 350 at the parallel market and 340 for online shoppers ![]() 1 Like |

CBN: I will intervene depending on market dynamics Market dynamics: import based country, low foreign reserve ($26 billion) Demand for dollar will always continue to be high as long as we always import majority of our needs. ![]() You whiling if you think dollar will someday be 280 USD |

acunon: when i said 187k - i meant in cumulative i only accepted 140k to just end everything and move on - funny how a tv you sold for 170, you now resold for 140. I accepted the loss and i've moved on |

Yes. I was refunded 140k ( out of 187k ) still a horrible experience and i would never recommend anyone to him as he is a self centered fellow please close the thread 2 Likes 1 Share |
