A country of more than 300 million people, split along ethno-religious lines, where the social, financial and academical illiterates and bigots decide the leadership and system of governance of the country. Education is the key. Not just academical education. It's not that the system isn't working . It's perfectly working, as they intended. |

iwaeda: The price of fares of the safest means of transport currently retails above minimum monthly wage. For this yultide season, the price of tickets are more or less 55k. If the security bubble around air transportation in Nigeria pops, perhaps the middle and high class can have a rethink of the axiom; water eventually reaches its level 7 Likes 1 Share |

The CBN is one of the highest perpetuators of economic and financial crimes in this 10,000 is currently less than 18 dollars and this is the maximum a Nigerian ATM usually dispenses albeit unnecessary charges including ATM maintenance and co. In several countries I've visited, only in Nigera have I found ATM not dispensing due to unavailability of cash or network issues, bank apps not working properly and pos dispense errors being the order of the day. This country is worse than cursed. 2 Likes |

The irony of the Nigerian constitution is that there's no provision for referendum In a country where peace and unity is but a myth. If the Igbos want out of the forced union , why not let them vote amongst themselves? |

amuwo1980: It's no dick measuring contest jiji San. Judging by what you think tertiary education is for, I would rather be uninformed than misinformed. Please do not equate building non functional institutions and freedom of speech to being the qualities of a first world president. Clearly you know nothing about the reality of first world presidents. Evil prospers when good men do nothing. GEJ never moved a needle in the following indexes of what makes a country first world SECURITY HEALTH CARE ECONOMY EDUCATION INFRASTRUCTURES POWER GENERATION TRANSPARENCY AND ABILITY CORRUPTION AND BRIBERY Never mention GEJ and competency in the same sentence sir. |

This is a state whose ratio of internal generated revenue to federal government allocation is apparently nothing to write home about. From a business perspective, this state should have declared chapter 7 bankruptcy and liquidated into the absyss of failure But Nigeria is a country where the resources of few is regrettably shared and mismanaged by many 1 Like 1 Share |

lastclaire4: I beg to disagree Raising interest rates without solid fundamentals is useless It's like trying to switch seats in a burning car. If developed countries can raise interest rates to stimulate their stock market, I very much doubt it'll be effective for Nigeria Also, sometimes, the stock market can be decoupled economic health of a nation as we're currently seeing with US and developed nations |

Like it or not, we're all going to pay for these loans via taxes and treacherous inflation which is reduction in buying power. This problem stems from past istration as well. The inefficiency and mismanagement of borrowed funds is one undefeated hydra in Nigeria. How can you attract foreign investors when you can't encourage local production and distribution of goods and services across the country? I wanted to list the common problems the average business owner faces in Nigeria but I'm too exhausted for the long list. 42 Likes 4 Shares |
