That is why you are a teacher if you cannot study and observe both the financial and psychological needs of a student and his or her sponsor then you are not a teacher at all. Education is not cheap that is why the government plays a part to contribute to the education but if they don't then how will the country afford it? Nigeria is relatively poor with people earning than people in the UK but you want them to pay and foot bills like those outside Nigeria when they can't even earn something reasonable? Lets not bring regional politics into it because it's something that goes round Nigeria not just in one region. How will they be able to provide when they are poor? Do you know how expensive things now is in the market? When things were cheap,govt didn't bother to capitalise on it and improve education. Next time if you want to compare make sure you also add how much they make a month compared to how much they make here in Nigeria a month. People get money that is why they send their children to schools with roof and ceiling.

Nigerian environment is not sustainable or suitable for practicals because of affordability of learning tools and availability of learning infrastructures. You might find some of this things in top notch private schools and not government schools. People that can hardly buy basics for their kids to use in school na em wan buy tools used for practicals? How much be cement now? How much be block? Western and Eastern environment allow this to thrive and not to talk of how the parents earn which enables their children to get most of its needs. Their education is subsides that the government provides all the learning facilities so that the parents can provide the rest but for here how much person dey earn wey e wan buy 1 bag of cement for em pikin to use as practical? Roof and ceiling no even dey some Govt schools sef.

I have a student of mine who schools in one of the cheapest UK schools, and am very sure that what he pays in a term is more that what he could pay in Nigeria for 6 years. Education is not cheap and is never cheap anywhere in the world.
Check the way we even prefer foreign expatriates over duly qualified engineers in civil construction.
Take for instance, Anambra State that offers free tuition for all high school students, yet you still find people complaining that they don't have money to buy basic items for academics.
This same person will collect 2k to vote in a riffraff simply because he is from his region.

I ed my days as a teacher in technical school. We introduced students to these kinds of experience and it is the same Nigerian parents that used to attack us teachers, that that was not they sent their children for. Ask them to buy ordinary hand tools, you see parents ranting as if things just happen out of the blues. Nigerians and in extension, Africans don't believe in local tech, they always prefer what the oyibo man does.

I bet the op is high on religion and it's practices. There are outrightly no such things as Christian songs; all songs are worldly songs. They are sung in different contexts. Burial, birthdays, holiday outings, casual outing, institutional songs like poems and anthems, club and fans of sports, folktales for moral stories.
