This is a very good idea... If we don't go to Libya to get them, after several years of training in Libya with Libya's vast state infrastructure, ISIS will be formidable enough to start spreading rapidly across Africa. With their striking success in Iraq, most African states with their fledgling armies will be of no match.. Tackling ISIS in Libya NOW is the best way forward... But again is the Americans going to like that? ISIS is a very good destabilizing force. And the destabilization of Africa fits Americas foreign policy drives.., so?

Destabilisation of Africa fits America's foreign policy drive?

Care to explain what policy that the Americans have that encourages terrorism overseas and continually puts their homeland under the threat of attack? Can you provide the explanation rationally without including elements of conspiracy theories too? Thanks

Just finished the first season of The Newsroom and I have to say that for all it's high brow intellectual appeal it's undoing is the erratic fireworks show that is the life/relationships of its characters. One moment I'm watching a show that deals with realistic and serious grown up issues of state, governance and society the next moment it is reduced to a teen drama shouting match. Haba. That McKenzie lady is practically psychotic, why all the yelling in the center of the office? Almost had to fast forward her scenes...

Anyway will move on to the second season, it's still a very good show, I just hope the characters will all grow up relationship wise.

Like I said earlier, nothing new worth watching. I don't like Agent Carter, just like I had nothing but disdain for Gotham, Constantine, Agents of Shield, Arrow, Flash and Smallvile. They are all poor interpretations of the comics. Besides, I don't consider myself a fan of Marvel.

Lol. Sometimes I wonder how it is that I followed Gotham past the 3rd episode.

Edit: We have to realise that there will never be a comic story(from Marvel or DC) made for mature audiences.

Since Jordanian president could fly to revenge for a pilot life, I dont see why Buhari shouldn't visit chibok...not gej, because GMB is already d president.

Anyways, I only applaud him because he made it a shock and voluntary visit unlike how GEJ could have alerted even china for the pilgrimage to chibok out of fear.

The Jordanian King did not fly anything to avenge anybody, that story was fabricated. Buhari's campaign team have also debunked claims that Buhari visited Chibok.

From here on out I advise that you not swallow any story you see twitter or on one funny blog without weighing its credibility, see how embarrassing it can leave you. Cheers

Hmmm.. Someone sounds bitter!! grin

"The Newsroom" is not for everyone, Yup. At least, not for people that had taken a serious liking to Teen shows like The 100, Beauty and the Beast, and Vampire Dairies. grin grin Or had refereed to "Supernatural" as the greatest horror show ever. shocked grin Or had hyped silly shows like "From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series".grin People like that wouldn't be caught dead watching pure qualities like The Newsroom. They are allergic to Shows that challenge one to actually think. No siree! grin

Stand down trooper. Stand down.

Ok.

Someone said that the human mind is like an umbrella, it works best when it is open. You are already denying yourself the chance to see if you will enjoy yourself or not based on a bias.... Oh well.

Yes it does. I haven't read the book but I've heard some reviews from people that have read it saying that the show is intriguing and a pleasant surprise. And it all makes sense because when it comes to TV shows and Movies, people like to be surprised, else what's the point?

Hmmm. Your comment will be excused because you it to not having read the books. If you read original story you will surely agree with the many followers of the story on forums like Westeros.org that the additions are indeed distracting and only pander to hollywood's desire for formulaic storytelling.

This is a no spoilers thread so we can't discuss in detail how the books differ from the TV series, I don't want Oga Seun's ban hammer falling on my head. smiley I will quickly it though that the TV series has done a good job in sticking to the real scripts - in fact that's why it's been enjoyable so far. The additions leave you asking why the producers even bother with them.

Most of the people commenting here are mumu, think first, if govt still control it, it will be like all our Telecom and IT agencies govt couldn't handle.
Sell it to people who can run it, let it be put into extensive use.

My thoughts exactly. This forum is being overrun by dunces every day. The kind of comments we see here are ridiculous, these people are quick to criticise and politicise everything.

See them crying that the govt is privatising its agencies, the same agencies that the government has a poor record of running itself. What should be of concern is that the privatisation is carried out properly and fairly. It is a well known fact that organisations that are privately run tend to fare better than when under state management so one wonders why the uproar here. Apparently there is no reasoning with dolts, it's a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation.

Let NigComSat and co be privatised. It's a good move.

Aaron Sorkin genius can be only be matched by that of Vince Giligan's. Both men know how to creat a masterpiece out of real life situations. Calling The Newsroom a "Good show" is an understatement that can be quantified as an insult so grievous that it's practically a taunt. The Newsroom is a modern day MASTERPIECE, the David of Modern day TV shows. Too bad it wrapped up so soon. angry

I only just started and it's not like I'm watching the show with an eye to spot any discrepancies, nah that's not me. smiley. I enjoy intelligent shows and this looks like a good one, I looking up certain words I didn't know after watching it (like fiduciary and addled)

I just hope there are less of those overly dramatic scenes like the Valentine day one where Maggie's flat mate came barging into the office because she was stood up by her colleague Jim. That was unbelievable!

I like that Sloan Sabbith lady though. She's too hot to be a nerd. grin wink

It was too easy for Frank, you seriously believe all the political juggernauts they outwwitted in such short time can be thst naive in real life? I think not!

If anybody came and wanted to tell me a story about a politician who became president without standing for election I would have dismissed the person's story as fantasy and implausible . . . but with the particular series of events that occurred for Frank Underwood to land in the oval office I can buy it.
Besides it not like the Underwoods have outwitted everyone, they have only manipulated certain people so they come out ahead. Their manipulations and successes aren't permanent and it all very obvious they will meet their comeuppance soon. It's all a house of cards.

It's if we were told, or led to believe that their schemings were totally successful that's when I'd say the writers must take us for fools. The so called juggernauts will strike back, let's watch.

Any show that has wit and intelligent dialogue will get my attention even if the plot is far fetched. Case in point, 'House of Cards'.

Same here. But House of Cards isn't far fetched na grin all that's needed to make it believable was the broader context of events and they did provide us with that context.

The Newsroom!!! Within 10mins of the 1st episode, I was sold. I could just memorise that rant by Jeff Daniels grin grin grin grin

Wow! I decided to check it out based on Koice's recommendations, I'm currently on the 6th episode. Yeah it's a good show but there have been certain elements of it that I'm not buying at all. I mean the dialogue is witty and intelligent and the issues they deal with when on the news are quite interesting, what I don't believe is how they think it's normal for seemingly intelligent people to squabble about their private affairs in the middle of the office in front of everyone. Those moments made me ask who the hell was writing the story. (Actually did some small research on Aaron Sorkin, the show's creator). Anyway will see how it goes...

Archer is another animation I'll lyk to get started on. Don't really lyk Family Guy

Archer is mad funny, it's certainly not for the family though as most of it's humour is of an adult nature. Same can be said of Family Guy; when it is not being outrightly offensive - there have been episodes I refused to watch because they were insulting - it can be downright hilarious. There have been many times I have paused FG just so I can laugh properly then resumed watching. Seth MacFarlene is one insane person.

True. The additions to the original story didn't improve the overall story IMO. That's just Hollywood and its conceited adherence to ratings and what they think audiences always want to see.

What I am curious to see however is how the relationship between Petyr Baelish and Sansa unfolds in the coming season. This is particularly interesting to me because this is one point where the series has caught up with books, are the producers going to sideline that part of the story or will they come up with an extraneous subplot filler?

Breaking Bad is a top show, probably the greatest in the last 5 years, but saying no anime can be better is pushing it. The Simpsons is heads and shoulders above it.

Just so people don't get confused, anime refers to Japanese cartoons so The Simpsons cannot be called an anime because its inherently Western.

This is like the guy who couldn't read but always made sure that he was seen with a book pretending to read, alas the book is always upside down.

The words of Jay Z describes this scene perfectly: You can pay for school but you can't buy class.

Death Note

You an anime person huh? I used to be one myself till... till life happened. Now I find that animes don't hold my interest for long these days. Death Note, Bleach and Naruto are no longer in production right? I've tried to follow Attack on Titan and Rail Gun but no way, can't see where the interest will come from.

The cartoons I watch now though are Archer season 6, Bobs Burgers season 5 and Family Guy season 13. American cartoons are just too funny.
