emerich: This proposal is for the UK only so unless you reside there this has nothing to with you. I think Cameron's proposal to ban encrypted messaging services or for said services to provide a back door for intelligence monitoring by the authorities will most likely not succeed. Such suggestions usually gather steam in the wake of media gripping terrorist incidents but later on die away without taking effect. Privacy is placed very highly in places like the UK. 1 Like 1 Share |

Buhari is yet to convince me that he is a democrat, let alone fit to be president of a modern Nigeria. I think it is a big shame that we even have to consider a former dictator, one who hasn't bothered to equip himself with the necessary knowledge needed to build a modern democratic society, as candidate for president. Shame that GEJ has reduced us to this level and a double shame that many think that Buhari is the messiah we need. 4 Likes |

See the kind of hogwash many people like to believe in. This story is straight up nonsense. This is fodder for Jihadists and conspiracy theorists who are always looking for somebody to blame. 1 Like |

LRNZH: Are you saying you expect a press release everyday condemning every act that Boko haram engages in everyday during this war? What does that achieve? The FG's position against Boko Haram has been stated serval times already. In fact we should all be weary of press releases condemning BH, what we should clamour for is the final statement from the govt that Boko Haram has been contained. |
![]() |
@LRNZH The battle against Boko Haram in the north is on going, it is a full military campaign. Surely no reasonable person expects a press release everyday from the FG while it wages this war. Take the govt to task on other serious matters not this. This is just petty politics. 1 Like |

LRNZH: The OP is being disingenuous. Virtually all countries in the world have issued statements of solidarity to , are those countries without their own challenges? Besides the press statement issued by FG doesn't cost anything or somehow reduce the effort in its own campaign against Boko Haram. Using this as salvo against GEJ is lame and childish, OP could easily bring other weighty issues against GEJ that will merit attention not this non issue. 1 Like |

Terrorism and violence should be condemned wherever it rears its ugly head. There is absolutely nothing wrong or out of place for Nigeria to condem the Paris attack even while it faces challenges within its borders. Criticising the FG's solidarity statements to is outrightly lame. There are a dozen other areas where we can all rightly call the FG to order not this one. It's because of the elections that why many people have thrown reason out of the window and blindly talk down on every action of the govt. This needs not be so. BTW are Buhari ers implying that should Buhari win there will be no more terrorist attacks in this country? I hope if he wins and attacks still occur they won't take the easy way out and blame it on the opposition. 2 Likes |

This jpphilips is a trip! Oga stop making condenscending remarks when addressing people here. With your supposedly superior education you have not been able to clear up the questions people have been asking instead you hide behind vacuous statements. Answer questions clearly, surely your exceedingly high IQ can help you. PS: I hope you will not use this comment as a further excuse to run away claiming that your supreme self has been offended. ![]() |

jpphilips: This guy is too funny. I didn't research jack! It's obvious because you are campaigning for Buhari so you are oversimplifing the issues at stake. I'm certain Buhari has not for a second considered the objections that the likes of joeboy03 have presented to his plans. |

jpphilips: LOL! This is the same type of behaviour that people with a shallow grasp of issues display; feign irritation when their own assertions are questioned so as to wiggle away from the spot light. This discussion is primarily about Buhari so I will not leave him and his comment out of it. Let me repeat myself again for all and sundry to hear: There is no singular measure that OPEC or any nation for that matter can use right now to revert oil prices back to what it was before. Everybody will ride this out till demand picks up. Reduced demand from China and Europe, coupled with increasing domestic production from the US,the global demand for OPEC's oil dipped resulting in the fall of oil prices. This crash in oil prices was practically outside the influence of OPEC, if there was anything they could have done to maintain the former highs they would have done it.Some OPEC even sought to cut production from the cartel to stem the drop, others refused as it would mean that they cede market share to other countries. It is with this in view that Buhari's claim of stabilizing prices is completely ludicrous. OPEC as a cartel is unable to halt the drop in prices, even mighty Russia a significant oil producer but non OPEC member is powerless here; notice how Putin has been quiet lately. It is now Mallam Buhari that will magically stabilize oil prices to its former levels. How? Buhari does not know what he is talking about! BTW I'm not sure you understand the term "foreign policy" properly because its use here is unneeded. Foreign policy is generally used to describe a country's strategy in dealing with other nations. Saudi Arabia's relations with other countries is of no relevance to this discussion perhaps you mean to ask how Saudi itself is dealing with the fall in oil prices. Well that's simple: Saudi Arabia on of its massive reserves (around $900bn or so) can withstand low oil prices they can ride this out for a very long time. And no, do not try to link Saudi's reserves to some kind of interpretation of Buhari's clownish comment - Saudi has not "stabilised" any oil price! |

^ Must insults and abusive language be used because people are campaigning? How can there be change when everyone is going about this business the old and dirty way?

jpphilips: Do not let your love for Buhari leave you in delusion, no nation or group of nations can "stabilise" oil prices. OPEC the oil clique is still very much in play yet in spite of their efforts global oil prices have fallen from >$100 to about $50. Demand from oil thirsty countries has dropped, the US has stepped up its local production by exploiting shale. There is no singular measure that OPEC or any nation for that matter can use right now to revert oil prices back to what it was before. It will only rise when demand from countries like the USA and China pick up. Thats why it is completely ridiculous that Buhari claims he can stabilise oil prices. His comment alone speaks volumes about his ignorance about this matter and it shocking that someone who claims he is better than than the current leader can be so bold with such ignorance. It is a big shame that this is the kind of person we want to lead us to greatness after the disappointment that GEJ has been. What is the point of replacing a dumb leader with an ignorant one? EDIT: Re: Your post. What foreign policies are you talking about? All the countries that have been hit hard by this drop in oil prices are reeling from the pain. |

sidecheek: Please share with us the plans Buhari has for Nigeria and tell us how it will be better than what GEJ has. So far I have been very disappointed by what I heard the general say. The fact that we are disappointed by GEJ shouldn't mean we should replace him with someone worse. 1 Like |

Toktee: Please kind sir explain to us how this executive power works. When I hear chants that Buhari will wipe corruption away from Nigeria I wonder how he intends to achieve this. Will he double as judge and president? Will the judiciary process be set aside? Will suspected corrupt persons be prosecuted and sentenced by Buhari himself? It would be greatly appreciated if those in the know will kindly throw some light on how Buhari intends to get rid of the corruption that plagues this nation. This is arguably the strongest point he brings to the table - in fact it is his only point because on the other issues like economy, power and infrastructure he has said said zilch- so if it's well explained he just might earn himself a few more votes. 2 Likes |

What nonsense is this? Is this the change Buhari and his crew want to bring about in this country, to burden the country's finances by reducing it to a socialist state? Where will the funds for this scheme come from? How long will it last? Is this one of the pressing issues that we face as a nation? Negro please. Buhari with this statement is confirming what I always suspected; he is unfit to lead this country to greatness. The idea of providing free food and meagre allowances for youths is from a bygone era, a remnant of unsustainable socialist policies from the 1950s. This plan breeds indolence and an unjust sense of entitlement in young people, it is wrong! I will not vote for Buhari if this is what he is all about. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Is APC going to let this blow over? This certificate saga should be and could have been settled long ago. Buhari should present his certificates so we end this drama and focus on what his plans for Nigeria are (if he has any) and how they will be better than GEJ's.

tonytony208: Try again. This time with a credible link like a renown news site not some misty Facebook page where any half-wit clown can conjure up stuff. The reason why that comment is in doubt is because Australia is a first world country and like other countries in that class it always strives to maintain the political-correct image; they will always maintain that they are multi ethnic, multi-religious and that their minorities will always protected, yada yada. That kind of stuff. The day any leader, let alone a whole PM, from such a country (excluding Israel, of course) makes comments like you claim it would be breaking news on all news networks and most likely political suicide for said leader. PS: In fairness to you I state that I didn't even bother reading the link as its a Facebook link and will require me to . I no get that time to dey enter FB this night. Lol |

tonytony208: What the heck are you talking about? Australia is a secular country. The PM of Australia never made such a comment, I dare you to provide evidence of your claim. How can Buhari singularly turn Nigeria into an Islamic state, will the senate cease to exist if he wins the presidential elections? Stop this FUD mongering, let everyone approach this elections with a balanced outlook, not fears and untruths. |
