You're coming up as a ballpoint pen artist. I do not known your intent at creating this post, but if it was for exhibition or promotional purpose, I suggest you tidy many things up. E.g you need to define your margins and scaling properly before creating the images so that your text can sit well in the concept arrangement. I also think you need to improve on your shading. There are some images where you used crosshatching but you didn't create the typical shade background upon which such heavy shading should rest. I think you need to improve on real-life drawing too. There's what we call ambience. For instance, your capture should have little real-life details like sky, birds, vegetation etc, it makes your drawings holistic. All in all, I rate you 5.5/10.. Wishing you greater heights. 4 Likes |

JaceBlaze: If you're South African, you should have no business commenting here, talk less of giving me a mention! You know why? Your stupid and shameless attitude just corroborated part 1 of my view... And if you're Nigerian typing this scum, I'd say you're worthy of your ignorance! How widely have you traveled? You asked me for an example and your dumb skull didn't tell you to await my answer before you jumped onto the conclusion that I have none! So, I ask you again skunk; how widely have you traveled? Go to Mauritius close by and see SA citizens flocking in like migrant birds! If you need more examples, visit some of your characteristically nauseating embassies around the world! While you're at it, let it sink into your numb skull that the xenophobia SA is promoting today will lead her into Apartheid II. ![]() And talking about smartness, Hey! I just fixed one of your poor grammars for you up there! Good day! 1 Like |

There are 2 angles to this view: An ungrateful SA ing derogatory remarks on fellow Africans, who fought tooth and nail to see her become genuinely free and sovereign Black nation... And some parasitic SA neighbors far and near who often are keen on seeking better and ready-made alternatives to building their own homegrown facilities! My take: SA citizens should stop acting like their own compatriots aren't littered around developed nations, seeking better lives too! - what goes around, comes around. Other African nations too should gear towards progressive development instead of seeking to be dependent on other nations - as you lay your bed, so you lie on it! 4 Likes |

Culture is a complex aspect of humans. Whether in the study or practice of it, culture often cut across many areas or subjects. From the Arts of Sociology to Anthropology, the Sciences of Palaeontology to Chemistry; the mention and definition of culture remains recurrent. In the everyday use or disuse of language, culture impulsively gives off its meaning summarily as the means of identifying someone's or some people's social background by visible or audible traits such as their native language, clothing and dressing, cuisine, interpersonal relations such as in greeting... And to a lesser extent the material things they use such as utensils, architecture and so on. And whereas other aspects of the human society are deliberately altered and changed progressively, culture is usually advocated to remain conservative! So, in Nigeria today, despite the wave of modernism, some parts of the country have done a great deal of conscious effort to preserve their culture with little or no alterations as it were. In my opinion, when it comes to clothing, dressing and the lingual elements of culture, I think we can give it to the northern part of Nigeria, especially NW and NE. When it comes to folklore and traditional music, I vote for SW, while SE has no rivals in the preservation of cultural rites such as in marriage, funerals and community association. But to be more specific about the deep-rooted connection of a people to their ancestral ways of life, especially living in defiance to the imported revealed religions and sophistication, such that activities like invocation of spiritual powers and adulation of divinity (Black Magic if you like), I think I'll give it to the Binis and her neighbours. The Benin culture is arguably the best preserved culture in Nigeria. For instance, no matter how highly placed or influential you are; as a son or daughter of the soil you pay obeisance to the Oba right on your knees! I have also observed with keen interest how in spite of the deep involvement of a Benin native in the spiritual activities of the revealed religions, they always showed reverence and subordination to the spirituality of their culture... This is not a common disposition to culture among other Nigerian peoples to their original cultures. So, which state, tribe or geopolitical zone would you say qualifies as the cultural capital of Nigeria? |
