Samantha125: Those names... Nothing really suggested they're from SA precisely. Maybe from Southern Africa? Yes! Cos I can see names native to Botswana, Namibia, even generic faith-allied names. Convince me to the contrary! |

FreeStuffsNG: I recollect the anecdote told about a young cattle herder who usually does hang around a public school. He would always pick interest in a particular class and would peeping from outside through the windows, solve some of the arithmetic problems on the earth... A particular fellow (I think a missionary) once picked interest in this cattle boy and found him a piece of intellectual potential. Fast fwd when the herder boy would sit his final exams after being enrolled in the mainstream school system, he was reputed to have answered the compulsory 4 out of 6 questions, ruled a line at the bottom of his work, solved out the remaining 2 questions and noted with an asterisk *For further knowledge purpose*... |

The survey would have better been titled "Most Educated Countries in Europe, Asia and the Americas"... From valid records, many African nations produce by far higher percentages than what's been touted up here! For e.g Seychelles boasts a 97% literacy rate. Even Nigeria with an overwhelming 300+ Universities (Public and Private combined) couldn't be rated lower than 35%, yet I saw some countries rated 6.9% here... Haba! |

Racoon: Op, at the geographical presentation, you made factual points save for the erroneous supplanting of "Kingdoms" with "Countries" ( the UK is actually a merger of 3 kingdoms and one territory into a a nation). Also, on the currency, I don't agree with your idea of differentiating between the 'Pound' and "Pound Sterling"! Actually, they are not two separate currencies. The difference is just in the appellation. There's only one currency - the Great Britain Pounds (GBP), but preferred to be called by different : Pounds, British Pounds, Pounds Sterling, Sterling, UK pounds etc. Plus, you may want to include also that some of the expressions are quite colloquial. E.g , modern seldom calls it "Great Britain", the standard term (post declaration of the United Kingdom) is simply England. English is native to England Irish native to Ireland Scottish native to Scotland Welsh native to Wales. |

If we have to take the stock ... Since the return of democracy in 1999, OBJ still stands tall among ex-Presidents to have delivered the most positive economic impact on Nigerians. Whether T-Pain will beat that record is left for time to prove . 3 Likes 1 Share |
