Christian Chukwu was a colossal figure at the back for the Green Eagles now Super Eagles. A huge presence at the back for Rangers and Nigeria and good on the ball. He and Keshi are probably the defenders that commanded the most aura in the GWG.


Muda Lawal... a legend of the Nigerian Middle game. Led Shooting Stars of Ibadan to Continental glory (First Nigerian clubside to succeed on the continent) and also starred in Nigeria's first Afcon triumph. Muda was a midfield General and scored some iconic goals too.

Well said Dr. To be honest, I was being mischievous with the first 2 names but they are absolutely great players. The greatest defender for me is Stephen Keshi. Taribo West, Uche Okechukwu. I would also say Ricky Owubokiri, didn't do much for Nigeria but men, as an individual, he was phenomenal.
