I am invested in Ella Lakes. I have confidence in the company. I believe in the vision and believe that the management has all it takes to deliver on the vision. How I wish more Nigerians would think more like them and Dangote; Invest to solve a need. And the need here is clear. The stock market was created for companies like this… creating a platform to raise capital and reward hard work. The last few years have been challenging for even the Blue Chips. “Green chip” Ella is weathering all the storms and will excel. That FPF is already available is heartwarming…and just that the mill is not ready yet but is still ‘work in progress’. Once the mill is running, the price will shoot to 10. That will happen soon. The team cannot fail. They have brilliant minds. And, Chuka is one of Nigeria’s best minds. The land bank is massive…from the audit report… and should provide some comfort for long-term investors. This stock is not for trading. Sink in only funds you won't need for the next few years. Those in Ella Lake, stick in there. Time will reward. Everyone has to be ionate about something.

You gerrit, don't want to hold that much funds for long term on Ellah again. I also don't like that they've not released their Q1 up till now and no news about their activities so far. Especially the factory they said will start at Q1

I am still in with my original 75% stake, maybe the interesting part will recover my 10% loss and then continue to move with una

Their year end changed. Adopted at the last AGM.

E gba mi o!

Depends on when exactly they sold. Initial started at 0.50 and as of yesterday sold at above N9.0. Rights are sold based on perceived market trajectory. It’s not a gift offering. It might have been best if you gave a limiting price. It’s unfortunate as you could have gotten more.

What happened is this as stated on page 11of the financial statement

Basic earnings per share are calculated by dividing the profit for the year attributable to shareholders by the weighted average number of ordinary shares in issue during the year.

The calculation of basic earnings per share as at 31stMarch2025 was based on the profit attributable to ordinary shareholders and weighted average number of ordinary shares outstanding:

The figure circled in yellow was what was used to calculate the EPS which was then annualized

35,800,740 / 17, 858,502 = 2.004689

Annualized 2.004689 * 4 = 8.0188 approx. to 8.02

l am still trying to understand the factor that they used to arrive at the weighted average. They have been using this method. l went back to review last year's quarterly financial statement and l noticed this same patten was used to calculated and arrive at EPS for each quarter which was then annualized

In other words, something must be right or CBN, external auditors, all the egg heads in Wema etc., must be wrong to approve year end 24.

With a change of CEO, will be prudent not to assume that the trajectory would be automatically sustained, though could be sured. The taste of the pudding is in the eating.

Take the PAT and divide by the OS for the Q1. Multiply by 4 to annualize and you are still way faar from the EPS they reported

ZENITH BANK 2024 FINAL DIVIDEND.

This is the first time dividend is paid, and am yet to be credited. This is strange, despite having a valid e- dividend mandate for dividend in the same bank for dividend. Do we now have to wait for T + 3 days. I thought dividend payments is instant. I also thought having the same bank for dividend is a added advantage ( though, it was Veritas Registrars that change my dividend bank without my consent when they discovered I have an with Zenith Bank)

No wonder someone was trying to find out the best Registrars on this platform , so that he can consider their stocks. I actually felt that Registrars doesn't matter as what one should focus is a good stock. Well, I have no option but wait as I have discovered am not the only one with this issue. But, Zenith Bank needs to improve as dividend payments ought to be seamless especially having their Bank for dividend. I have no choice but to wait. The vulture is a patient bird according to James Hardley Chase. In investment patient is a virtue. grin

Lesson learnt: Never spend money you have not received.

Sorry, it can be quite frustrating. Give Veritas till tomorrow close of work. If not through by then, send a nice email. They are good with emails.

How come on the report, 2024 full year PAT of N87.4 Billion have EPS of 483 kobo while Q1 2025 with a PAT of N35.8 Billion is having 802 kobo.
Maybe I am not seeing well. Something is not adding up or I am not understanding something here.
Shouldn't a lower PAT mean lower EPS even when the company is having more OS

Its annualized

Using a projected PE of 5 may be too conservative for these types of companies, it is fine for banks. It would definitely result in early exit. I expect them to match up to an average PE of 10 especially if they pay up to 50% and above of EPS as dividend.

I like to play safe sir, unless I am buying to hold. Important thing is that at the , its at a . Its good here at its for at least a 50% appreciation you would agree sir. Can always adjust at Q2…if I am still in by then. Having a target allows one to enjoy the proceeds. Its only cash if banked.

APR

It’s good for those already invested into it, having already received bonuses, and now still the prospects of getting at least a 50k dividend in FY 2025. Not so good for a new investor as 2025 yield at the current price may seem an embarrassment. Front-row seats are already filled. You just have to wait for something catastrophic to happen to jump in ( our prayer is of course that no such thing happens for all our sake). Train gone way past the station. Let’s not pick a fight with those already in the stock who will not agree with the current valuation having made their gains and plan to hold on tight.

@that say me please.

I personally feel that heavy dilution and still maintaining high stock prices/ and about the same dividends is a strategy to ward off deep-pocket mercenaries. Only initial investors are winners for years till value comes at par. Quite some sense!! Just my thoughts.

Set your Zenith bank alarm to 10 am today and start to watch Zenith bank trade volumes in the first 1 hour of trade. Can draw interesting assumptions before the Q1 release. If Q1 is not released at or before the market open.

Common Sense target for NIgerian Brewries N60-N104. Probably over a year. However should rapidly climb above N50 if nothing catastrophic happens.

Whosoever cannot decode between the lines should continue to listen to those spreading panic.

OANDO is not like DS/NS, those ones went up as a result of merger which was later put on hold.

I won't advice anyone that picks at high price to sell at loss.
If you can get other funds, just keep it for averaging down once the tide is about to change.

An Upstream Company selling at ridiculous price, yet someone who's praying to enter cheaper, and ironically the prayer is being currently answered will continue to do and say anything to get his wish granted.

When retailers finished granting billionaires their wish, then billionaires will take it up to their desired price.

So beautifully put I couldnt resist not archiving for future general reference. Simply put yet brilliant and true. 🫡🫡🫡

The vulture is an interesting animal and don't blame some who regard it a disgusting bird, in the wild, the way it lurks around seeking and possibly praying on the vulnerable.…lets not forget that shares are peoples funds and investments. A stock crash can be painful without funds to average down. But even more painful is the lack of empathy on a down turn. Lets tamper our buy the dippty dips with empathy. Averaging down is one of two proven strategies to beat the market….when the resources are available.
