Mujtahida:I never knew there was going to be an outburst from one of the team's star players before I concurred with you on this. The recent chaos in the Eagles' camp further corroborate the above assertion. Our local coaches, be it ex-international or not, must first prove their mettle both home and away before being considered for the NT role. It is no brainer that without this, no Nigeria senior player will respect and submit to such class of coaches. Ex-international should forget their legendary status, humble themselves and build their portfolios before thinking of taking national team coaching role. Enyeama and Oliseh Dejavu! Unless we learn, we will continue to go in cycles. My summation. 1 Like |

Mujtahida:God bless you. There you have it. The summary of it all. The one and only reason a local coach will always struggle as a Super Eagles Gaffer unless he has godlike presence. |

Football no longer interest me like before. Is anyone in here experiencing the same? The game is so much mechanized that you can predict the outcome of the match before kickoff. No more magic, no more flair. Just some kicking around for 90mins. Players no longer take personal initiative and do the impossible. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Thank you Bascovanveli for sharing the highlight of the friendly match between NGA and GHA. Dessers did well in such an important game. Most people here forgot that we played Ghana,an arch-rival. Irrespective of the nature of the match, it will be keenly contested. I Ghana defeated the Super Eagles 4-1 in a friendly match played in London years ago. We were outclassed and outplayed that very day. It took luck for the SE to get a consolation goal witch came via a well dispatched spot kick by Taye Taiwo. From the shared video, Dessers ball awareness, off the ball runs and timing were absolutely spot on. He brings a different game to the table. I saw him drop dip to pick up balls, linked well with his team mate, his positional awareness are top notch and calm dispatched the penalty kick. He will only get better from here. I await the match against Mali to draw conclusions on the wide players. 3 Likes |

I do not understand the rationale behind singling out players for blame in a team who played it all to the final. Pointing fingers to one or two players is uncalled for. The boys put in a great shift through out the tournaments and so must be encouraged going forward. If I were to pin down the team's failure to lift the coveted trophy to anything. Then it has to be FATIGUE. The players were both physically and mentally tired. That was the sole reason we lost the match. The entire team(first 11) were tired and worn out as at the semis. It reflected in the final match. There was no more gas in their tank from the 40th minutes. The midfield collapsed, the defense weren't helping and pressing from the front was non-existent. Poor player rotation was partly responsible for this. CAF(the tournament organizers) made room for 27 players, we took 25 players to the tournament. Reason for this is unknown. We ran out of options the moment some players took their foot off the gas due to tiredness. Going forward, I'll suggest top quality Physios and Psychologists be employed if not always, but during tournaments like this one. Quality Recovery session can't be over emphasized and are very important to getting the best out of the team in the next game. Iwobi should be spared of all this insults. Dude wasn't even on the pitch when we conceded the goal against SA and likewise the second goal against CIV. He has been unfairly criticized. I hope he recovers from this. Gracias! 4 Likes 1 Share |

AIG07:This isn't a coincidence! This was the turning point for us. It was at this moment I knew that Vincent Enyeama has forgiven Eagles and bless the Goal Keeping Department. |

AIG07:Kelechi Iheanacho had one job in the whole tournament. He was saddled with the responsibility of leading the country into the final and he delivered. On the verge of been knocked out, Kelechi Iheanacho stepped up and converted his kick. What a moment! Congratulations to all football loving Nigerians! Soarsupereagles! 2 Likes |

I want to believe Finidi George has greatly done some talking to Moses Simon. Dude has greatly improved with his decision making as a winger. No unnecessary dribble. He now choose Productivity above Flamboyancy. Good job to the backroom staffs. 1 Like |

I have not seen a Nigerian team(SE) play with so much ion and dedication in a decade like this current set at this tournament. So much fire and less fear in the lads. So far, they've not put any foot wrong in this competition. Each player called upon has executed his assignment well. I wish them success to the very end. Naija Forever! 12 Likes 1 Share |

Congratulations to all football loving Nigerians! Glad Ademola Lookman has finally clicked in the GWG. His performance yesterday reminiscence Victor Moses 2013 AFCON show. He was all over the pitch yesterday. I saw hunger and fire in his face right from the blast of the whistle. The entire team look different from what they use to be prior to the tournament. Jose Piseiro and his backroom staffs deserves some accolades for this transformation. Long, may the Eagles continue to Soar! 14 Likes 1 Share |

First it was Ndidi, then Boniface now Sadiq Umar + an half fit Kelechi Iheanacho. The team has been seriously depleted no thanks to injuries. We can only hope for a miracle. Going into the tournament with low expectations. 3 Likes |

AndSunGorilla:If the draws were to be made today, In a worst case scenario Ghana(currently outside top 9 on the continent) is the only country we are likely to get grouped together and it didn't end well the last time we were grouped together. |

Danielnino00:That will likely be a minimum of 10 games for each country. That's going to be a marathon. 7wins should easily ensure qualification for any side. |

Unpopular opinion, Rohr, though not a sound tactician, should be offer a position of a chief scout for the National Teams. Man seem to have Nigeria at heart. His post world cup qualification interviews are touching. Man sounds like someone who is adopting Nigeria as his second country. Amaju, pending the glass house election later in the year, should stick to istration and stop canvassing for foreign borns. He sucks at it. Iwobi's moment of brilliance against Zambia in 2017 WCQ keeps playing in my head. V. Moses, Iwobi, Balogun and Ekong have been the biggest steal in the last decade. Others haven't really lived up to expectations 1 Like |
