AntiZikist: Peter Obi revolutionized education in Anambra State during his tenure as governor (2006–2014) through transformative policies and strategic investments aimed at improving access, quality, and outcomes in the sector. Here are the key ways he achieved this: 1. Return of Mission Schools Peter Obi returned schools previously taken over by the government to their original proprietors, mainly churches, which had a track record of better istration. This decision was backed by government funding to cover salaries and other expenses, enabling the institutions to function effectively while maintaining discipline, moral values, and educational standards. 2. Infrastructure and Resources His istration invested heavily in educational infrastructure, including: Building and renovating classrooms. Equipping schools with computers, internet connectivity, and laboratory equipment. Providing school buses to ensure ease of transportation for students. These initiatives helped modernize the learning environment and enabled better academic performance. 3. Funding and Scholarships Obi ensured consistent funding for both public and mission schools, covering teachers’ salaries and operational costs. Scholarships and programs for students further reduced financial burdens on families, particularly for those in disadvantaged areas. 4. Focus on Technology and Innovation He introduced ICT tools in schools, establishing Microsoft Academies in secondary schools, a first in Nigeria. This provided students with early exposure to technology and boosted their competitive edge. 5. Improved Academic Outcomes Under his leadership, Anambra State rose from 26th to 1st position nationwide in external examinations such as WAEC and NECO. Students from Anambra consistently topped national academic rankings, including winning international science competitions. 6. Collaboration with International Organizations Obi partnered with organizations like UNICEF and the World Bank to attract additional funding and expertise for the education sector. His model of reform was later recognized as a benchmark for educational development in Africa. These strategic interventions transformed Anambra State into one of the top-performing states in education in Nigeria, setting a standard for others to follow. 1 Like 1 Share |

Imo State: Imo State is notable for implementing free education at all levels (primary, secondary, and tertiary) under Governor Rochas Okorocha (2011–2019). His istration covered tuition fees for students in public institutions. 3. Abia State: Abia State declared free primary and secondary education in 2015 under Governor Okezie Ikpeazu's istration. 4. Ebonyi State: Although not fully free, significant subsidies were provided during the tenure of Governor David Umahi (2015–2023) to reduce educational costs. 5. Enugu State: Free education initiatives, particularly at the primary school level, have been in place since the 2000s, with Governor Sullivan Chime (2007–2015) expanding funding to improve access. —--------------------------- 1. twosquare:forex trade is not a tech field but business; buying and selling. The skill required to be successful in forex trading can also be applied to other businesses: analysing the market, Knowing when to buy and when to sell. Even a palm oil seller needs same skill. Learning forex trading alone does not guarantee a secure financial future. While some people do find success in forex, it’s inherently a high-risk market with no guarantees of profit. 3 Likes 1 Share |

This is my personal thought. As Trump wins US presidential election, he may facilitate the end of Russia - Ukraine war. Once this war ends, Ukraine will begin to rebuild the damaged country. They may need to amend their immigration policy to make it easier for foreigners especially Africans to troop in to help rebuild the country and economy. Therefore save money. If it happens, it will be a very easy and cheap way to japa. My thoughts ooo. 4 Likes |

ivandragon:your points are also very OK if implemented. But I think it should have been done even before subsidy removal. The sudden removal and the floating of the naira were just done without any plan on ground. This is not governance at all. But I still think that reintroduction of the subsidy will have immediate effect on the livelihood of Nigerians. Then other recommendations follow while the subsidy is eventually removed. |
