The editorial of Punch did an awful job with this one-sided and biased reporting.

An unbiased reader of this report may think that this report seem like a hatchet job by the proscribed IPOB group lawyer in collaboration with the Punch reporter to instigate Punch newspapers readers against lawful authorities.

Why use the word invasion when this is a lawful exercise? Why was the spokesperson of NAFDAC not ed? Why is the report centered on the speech of only the IPOB lawyer? Why is there no a reference to the legal unit of NAFDAC to even confirm if there's such a correspondence? Why is the report looking like a sponsored post?

Unfortunately, this is what NAFDAC got for not prosecuting those directly involved and their collaborators who kept mute when crime of drug tampering and adulteration was being committed around them.

NAFDAC should stop issuing just fines and confiscating and destroying the exhibit, they should do like NDLEA and prosecute the suspects. That's the only way they can avert this kind of scenarios. Anyone arrested should go prove his or her innocence in court.

you created a thread yet hatred could not let you read what you created. Or you read and did not understand. It's very pathetic.

So we should not build electric vehicles until there is 24/7 light across Nigeria?

The world doesn’t work like that.

India and Pakistan have power cuts till tomorrow, yet they are even building spacecraft.

You people need to stop thinking small.

You’re too timid in the way you reason, some of you. 🤨
don't mind those shallow minded people. Why did he buy a smartphone and other electrical appliances in a country that is unable to have 24hr electricity.

Here’s a simple layman's summary of the article:

🗣️ What Happened:

Afenifere, a well-known Yoruba socio-political group, criticized President Bola Tinubu, saying he has failed Nigerians badly after one year in office.

🔍 Why They’re Upset:

Rising hardship: Prices of food, fuel, and transport have gone up, making life difficult for ordinary Nigerians.

Security problems: Kidnappings and violence are still a big issue.

Poor economy: The group says Tinubu's government hasn't improved the economy or created enough jobs.

📢 What Afenifere Said:

They said the government is “clueless and incompetent”, and accused Tinubu of surrounding himself with selfish people instead of solving real problems.

📝 In Simple :

The group believes President Tinubu’s leadership in his first year has made things worse for most Nigerians, not better. They’re calling for a big change in direction.

AI summary:

Here's a simple summary of the article:

🛢️ What Dangote Said:

Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man, says the price of petrol in Nigeria is 55% cheaper than in other West African countries, thanks to his Dangote Refinery.

🏭 Why This Matters:

Dangote’s refinery, located in Lagos, started producing fuel in 2024.

It reduces Nigeria’s need to import fuel, which used to be expensive and caused fuel shortages.

With local refining, petrol prices have dropped significantly.

💬 Dangote’s Point:

He emphasized that Nigeria now has cheaper petrol because it produces its own through his refinery — while other West African countries still import fuel at higher costs.

💡 In Simple :

Thanks to the new refinery, petrol is now much cheaper in Nigeria compared to neighboring countries. This helps reduce costs for Nigerians and improves fuel availability.

2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 Coupe and the 2017 Mercedes-AMG GLE 43 Coupe.

1. Reliability & Common Issues

#### **2016 GLE 450 Coupe 4MATIC**
✅ **Generally reliable** for a luxury SUV, but has some known issues:
- **Air Suspension Problems** (AIRMATIC leaks, especially in older models)
- **Electrical Gremlins** (infotainment glitches, sensor failures)
- **Transmission Hesitation** (9G-Tronic can be slow to shift in some conditions)
- **Turbo Lag** (minor delay in throttle response)

🔧 **Maintenance Tips:**
- Regularly check the air suspension for leaks.
- Keep up with transmission fluid changes (often overlooked).

#### **2017 Mercedes-AMG GLE 43 Coupe**
✅ **More performance-focused, slightly higher maintenance needs:**
- **Same AIRMATIC issues** (but AMG-tuned suspension is stiffer, which may wear faster)
- **Brake Wear** (AMG models have larger, performance brakes—pads & rotors cost more)
- **Engine & Turbo Stress** (higher boost pressure than GLE 450, but still a robust engine)
- **Exhaust Valve Issues** (some reports of rattling in AMG exhaust systems)

🔧 **Maintenance Tips:**
- Brake jobs will be **more expensive** (AMG brakes use larger, performance-oriented components).
- Use ** fuel only** to prevent carbon buildup.

**Winner for Reliability?**
The **GLE 450** is slightly more reliable due to less performance strain, but neither is a Toyota—expect **higher-than-average maintenance costs** for both.

---

### **2. Ownership Costs (Maintenance, Repairs, Insurance)**

| Cost Factor | **2016 GLE 450 Coupe** | **2017 GLE 43 AMG Coupe** |
|------------|----------------------|--------------------------|
| **Annual Maintenance** | **$800–$1,200** (Mercedes luxury tax) | **$1,000–$1,500** (AMG parts are pricier) |
| **Brake Job** | ~$600–$900 | ~$1,200–$1,800 (AMG brakes) |
| **Tires** | 20" tires: ~$1,000/set | 21" AMG tires: ~$1,500+/set |
| **Fuel Economy** | 17 MPG city / 22 MPG highway | 16 MPG city / 21 MPG highway |
| **Insurance** | Moderately high (~$1,800/yr) | Higher (~$2,200+/yr, AMG ) |

**Key Takeaway:**
- The **GLE 43 AMG** costs **~20-30% more** to maintain due to performance parts.
- **Tires and brakes** are the biggest differentiators.

---

### **3. Depreciation & Resale Value**
- **GLE 450 Coupe** → Depreciates **faster** (less demand than AMG).
- **GLE 43 AMG** → Holds value **better** (AMG badge helps).

**Current Used Prices (2024, approx.):**
- **2016 GLE 450 Coupe:** **$25,000–$35,000** (depending on mileage)
- **2017 GLE 43 AMG Coupe:** **$32,000–$45,000**

**If you plan to sell later, the AMG will lose less value.**

---

### **4. Which One is the Better Buy?**
| **Choose the GLE 450 Coupe if…** | **Choose the GLE 43 AMG if…** |
|--------------------------------|-----------------------------|
| ✅ You want a **smooth, luxurious ride** | ✅ You prefer **sharper handling & sportier feel** |
| ✅ Lower maintenance costs matter | ✅ You don’t mind **paying extra for AMG prestige** |
| ❌ You don’t care about AMG branding | ❌ You’re okay with **higher tire/brake costs** |

---

### **Final Verdict**
- **Budget-conscious + comfort-focused?** → **GLE 450 Coupe**
- **Enthusiast who wants sportier performance?** → **GLE 43 AMG**

If you’re looking at **long-term ownership**, the **GLE 450** is the more practical choice, but the **GLE 43 AMG** is more fun and holds value better.
