I noticed rough idling on my Corolla 2003. Got it scanned and it threw up the P0300; Multiple Engine misfire. I changed all four plugs, had the injectors cleaned out... The vehicle was rescanned and the codes cleared. The check engine goes off After driving for about 10 minutes the check engine lights again and the rough idling resurfaces. Now the mechanic is suggesting so many things; timing chain, leaks and even dropping the engine. I'm not comfortable with his guess work... I bought it toks August last year... |

I noticed that each time I use the wipers, AC and maybe headlamps, the battery icon lights up and the power steering stops working until I switch off the AC. What could be wrong? Vehicle is a 2005 Corolla.

I've wondered same. A 2005 Nigerian used is still priced between 1.2-1.6m. A colleague bought a Nigerian used Corolla 04 in 2017 for 1.2 million today he's reselling same at 1.35. Are there no alternatives to a Corolla ![]() 3 Likes |

thatigboman: Just give it time. I hope you get a refund too... I think going forward, before a web transaction is approved, GTBank will email you, to keep you in the know. You'd then be debited the next day, that's ample time to cancel the transaction, if you suspect it's fraudulent. That means, your email should also be safeguarded.. 1 Like |

I had a similar experience with GTB. I use a hardware token. Never have I disclosed my PIN to anyone. Card was in my wallet the whole time the transaction was taking place. I only got to know when I got debit alerts. Instantly, I dialled *737# to at least salvage what was left... All to no avail. I ed the bank, was directed to their fraud desk where i was given a form to fill.... After about 3 months I got a FULL refund and was advised to get a new card since the old one has been blacklisted. I got to know that, when transacting with foreign merchants, an OTP isn't required to complete the transaction. Just the 16 digit of your card is enough. 1 Like 2 Shares |

This headline is misleading. The 1800 naira is for customers who consume less than 50kwh and are on the R1 tariff. The R1 tariff is for very low income households. Now to the issue of capping power use, it means that, for instance a residential customer in Shomolu Business Undertaking will be billed 321Kwh at the end of the month of he uses a 3phase 4 wire connection. The bill will this be 321*21.80 = 6997.80 +7.5% VAT = 7522.64. NB. Cost of tariff in Ikeja Electric for R2T is 21.80 and it differs from one Disco to another. I think NERC is trying to force the hands of the disco to meter asap. Newsflash, one Disco conducted a POC to meter all customers on its 11KV feeder and the Substation DTRs. At the end of the day, revenue did not improve owing to technical losses which would require heavy investments over a long time. Discos are in for it. 3 Likes |

This current system cannot hold for another 5 years. The GENCOS will one day come to a grinding halt. The 11 discos owed a combined 348 billion to the GENCOs as at 2018, the figure would have doubled by 2020. Remittance to the market operator by the 11 discos stood at 31%. In essence, of the total cost of the energy generated only 31% is paid for by the discos. Since the generated energy cannot be stored the GENCOs are agitating to sell the power to reliable buyers and neighbouring counties. Some private estates in Lagos charge a tariff over 70 naira per kWh of energy. The discos are asking for a cost reflective tariff which the government, thru NERC is unwilling to do. It is not done anywhere that the government fixes the price for energy. Saying that Nigerians would be unable to pay above a certain tariff, citing minimum wage and all is not being objective. However, if the customer is metered, he can decide on how much power he can consume and is able to pay for. I'm against a buy back. Let the customers be metered first. Then full deregulation should follow. 1 Like |

Jabioro: For the DSS, intelligence gathering involves breaking into of the opposition's homes at the wee hours. That terrorism and kidnapping continue unabated really questions the motive of the DSS in today's democracy. 1 Like |

In Nigeria, criminals are heavily guarded by both the police and other security agencies. Imagine if Wadume had won the elections... He would have access to the police, DSS, to do his bidding. Someone's I don't feel pity for the police... When the public gathered to protest the state of fthings in the country, the shot and maimed them, forgetting that what affects the eyes, still also affect the nose. Another disturbing headline is the one where a police DPO paid the random for his own kidnap. We are officially in a banana Republic. We have altogether become victims of our own corruption. 4 Likes 1 Share |

I think the arrest of the suspect would have led to the indictment of several key persons hence the order from above to rescue the suspect at all costs. Our security agencies have been compromised. 3 Likes |

Those miles quoted are believable, not like other dealers that post same with mileage below 50k for a vehicle manufactured in 2004 and preowned. Like many others, I'd like to know cost estimates for clearing and customs docs.... And a testimony too... Btw I need a Yaris 2005. Following 3 Likes |
