TeamLeader:
The thought is driving me mad cos i dont want to be a pastor o and i don't go to church but the signs am seeing couple with series of dreams i do have is driving me towards that.
If i could recalled it started about 7yrs ago when i traveled to uyo with my one time friend. So he invited me to their family church vigil. Casually, i followed him and immediately the woman in charge saw me, she said am going to be a pastor and I was like wetin dis one de talk. I impatiently wait for 4am before i dashed out of the church.
The other time in abuja, my friend invited me to their church. The pastor start to tell me all sort of things like i'll be so great and successful blah blah blah that I might end up being a man of God and he wanted to lay his hand on my head, i refused bluntly in front of everyone. He felt embarrassed one kine as hold his hand up but who cares.
Then series of dreams started. I really can't all the dreams I've had relating to this because it comes occasionally for years now. Some i till date some i just ignored.
I've once had a dream where a man like a pastor was sitting and his men about 8 of them were standing beside him and another man sitting on the bare floor backing the pastor. The pastor was seriously blaming the man on the floor for being disobedient. I ignored.
Another dream I had again. One man of God was having a mighty crusade and out of the whole crowd he called me out and lay hand on me. Still don't care.
And many more like that but just this morning i had a dream where i was preaching to 2 or 3 people like that and that makes me seriously worried.
Now my issues is these:
I don't go to church at all. I prefer to stay indoor and pray & worship, i enjoyed worshipping God though and sometimes i hold vigil because I've been battling with a spiritual attack that defies medical treatment which doesn't allow me to go to places for my business unlike before for about 3 years now. I only go to church once in a while on Fridays for vigil and na cele church.
Na this pastor thing de worry me.
What will happen if i bluntly ignore or refuse?
Even if I want to answer, where do i start from?
Should I just walk into any church and say i have a calling from God or i should just continue my cele church on a regular basis now.
I don't even know how and where to start with bible.
I need help and advice please. Sorry for my bad English and long write up.
Pls share your opinions i'll reply later cos am out of data now but i'll be reading on safe mode.
Thank you
Lalasticlala

Based on your comment, do you think this statement "The building has a smoke detector" is correct ?
No. Have instead of has, is the correct answer

Since it is blunders and not blunder, kindly replace with "have" and not "has". Thanks
Have is used with I, you, we, and they, while has is used with he, she, and it. The verb to have has many different meanings. It’s primary meaning is to possess, own, hold for use

Thought about that exactly from onset. But then, i am about punctuations

Mister punctuation, correct my comments as you see fit, if it will make you feel better.
Know where you should use full stop (.) and comma (,). It is important so we can read with ease.

And they have come with their generalisation, instead of showing low esteem by stereotyping, why not surf through the internet for thousands of people who don't punctuate, you'd see it's not a Nigerian thing.
Man, even what you wrote above have punctuation blunders.

Congratulations to her.
But why do Nigerians, especially ladies, find it hard to punctuate?

All you need is self esteem.
It's what many black people need.
You are focusing too much on your appearance and it's making you think very low of yourself.
Even if the whites relinquish the word white to you and adopt black for themselves today you won't still be confident. Your mind will still be looking for the negative meanings of color white.
It's your mindset.
If you can change your mindset from concentrating on very useless things as what people call you to what you can add to the world, you will begin to be happy with yourself no matter what name you chose.
You can only be limited by your mind. The earlier the black people know this, the better.
Black is just a color. And that is the color or word that has come to be associated with people of dark skin, most especially Africans.
What you are advocating is not different from what many "spiritualists" in Africa are telling their "clients" to do by changing their foreparents age-long family name before they can make progress in life.
It only serves a therapeutic or psychological purpose. Beyond that, it doesn't change who they are. After some time they will be back to the low self esteem-underachieving state of mind.
By focusing on doing what you do very well and making a mark, you would not only have disproved the naysayers, you would have changed even the socalled negative perception of your circumstances.
People who succeed and go ahead to change the world don't sit down brooding about the definition of colors. They don't even care.
Blackberry was one of the most successful, safe, business-friendly smart phone ever. The founders didn't even think of the definition of color black in any negative way.
Blackrock Inc is currently one the biggest investment management companies with over $6 trillion in asset under management. Again, the founders didn't pay much attention to any blackness in their name.
There are people who call themselves devils, wizards gladly. Thatcher, Bush, Stone, Laggard, Black, are some of the names that have been associated with very successful people in the world. No one cares about the meaning of those names. People focus on what they do and how they do it.
I can’t seem to understand why this confuse you
You are completely off point and I don’t think you will ever understand

So I met this youth corper lady in abuja when I escorted my friend Whose babe pushed buttons for an appointment for him to meet with a dignitary in brit high Commissions, in order to secure visa to Europe and job connections on arrival to the UK. Who recalled I created a thread about my friend who was about to leave everything he worked for, to travel along with his rich babe? Well, dude just left days go.
Well, that aside. Prior to meeting this pretty corper who just came back from camp, I just came out of a messy break up which left a vacuum in me... We got talking and loved up in 2days cuz she also lodged in the same guest house as we did, and at night she would come downstairs to relax, as even i too would.
We got down, We became so close in a short space of time as we exchanged pleasantries, thoughts and ideas and we laughed about the funniest things together. Told her about the opportunities in Port Harcourt and how I would love her to come serve in PH, and that she could live with me.
She's 23 and she has a very humble spirit and a good vision. On my proposal, she declined and her reasons were the security threats and rumors about evil practices and she hasn't been to PH before . I tried to assure her to keep her safe if she would allow me work her transfer to PH. Guys she agreed, and that evening I put a call across an uncle who's a Brig.General who pushed buttons the following day... And by January she is to be in PH for service .
My friend left for Lagos on the 5th to meet with his babe so they would catch their flight and I couldn't follow him because I had to stay back to make preparations for her to come stay with me in PH. Beforehand, I had introduce her to my guy and he told me to be careful with this one but he liked her vibe and everything about her. She then took me to see her elder sister who is married in Niger state before we would both be leaving for PH. Her sister was mean and harsh at first, but I spoke with her husband who was from my home town and he talked to his wife so I could take her sister with me. We would be leaving on Wednesday as my 2weeks work leave expires this Tuesday.
Now guys, I don't know why I feel like I've started stepping out of my boundaries, like I'm moving too fast and doing too much, just too early... Now that she's coming over to PH, I don't know what the future holds tho but I really like this lady and I want to build her up...But do you think moving in together in a short time of knowing each other is bad for us? Any suggestion whatsoever ?? Do I get her a place so she could have a roommate so we could at least keep space ?
Bro, you only have to take things slowly. take your time to learn about each other and give yourselves required space.

So basically, no knowledge or understanding of what you're advocating.
Just another loud and empty barrel, chanting a tired line he doesn't understand.
Look at all these accomplished people of African descent who identify as black without any qualms, but on this forum an obscure online character would rather be described as brown and is mindlessly unable to communicate his stance or convince anyone to take him seriously.
GTFOH!
You finally proved what i mentioned earlier, a dimwit and a dullard.

Typical response when you've run out of ideas to your inconsistent stance.
Why is it okay to describe brown with quantifiers, but black has to be absolute?
Answer this question without your trademark meander.
You will never have common sense. I don’t know how this topic concern the nonsense you wrote above

You deny thay black is a spectrum of colours, but you accept brown as a spectrum. Haha.
All these men are brown, according to you. These are pictures of Hispanic, North African men who historically identify as brown, and West African and Sudanese men who historically identify as black.
And the reason you're so ionate ing the word 'brown' to describe African people is to curb racism yea? Ridiculous.
I think you need to be comfortable in your skin first. Somebody needs to get their confidence back.
Have you recently moved from Nigeria and experiencing racism, hence wanting to change your racial identifiers in the hope this changes how the white population perceive you?
Never gonna happen.
I can help you come to grips with this reality.
Send a DM if you need my help.
Cheers
Who is talking about comfort in skin colour? I have not severely experienced racism except crucial airport checks (of which i take responsibility for because of the image our brothers gave to us) or xenophobic treatments but that, entirely a different topic.
I can’t believe you are so dumb you cannot differentiate between black and brown (either light or dark brown)
Arguing with you seems like i am doing so with a dullard

You're being petty and craving for white validation. Simple as that.
Simple question
After you succeed in adopting "brown " to describe African people, would everyone below still belong to the same race?
You're against the descriptor black because you're of a lighter hue and think brown describes you better compared to white people?
Compared to Asian and north African peoples , are you going to further describe yourself as "darker brown"?
Compared to some of these beautifully melanated Sudanese models, are you now going to be lighter brown?
Haha where does the madness end?? Now im genuinely messing with you.
All of this heehaw will be avoided if you weren't chasing white validation.
If you are not foolish with what you posted, you can identify the difference between the pictures you posted and black
Btw you keep using forbidden words in my dictionary when you mentioned “white validation” you clearly even lose the point continuously. Stop writing out of shame

It doesn't matter at all if you forbid it or not; that's beside the point.
Until you're able to come up with a skin colour categorization that includes more African peoples than the current descriptor "black", we'll carry on with the status quo.
Changing your race from black to any other colour will not in any way, change how a non black person perceives or relates with you.
As long you keep associating with with word black, you are a slave illegal for all i care.
Goodbye since you are so blind you cannnot relatively say the exact colour of your skin.
This is beyond your comprehension

ion007:
I did think this was what you were on to. My point is brown skin is not inclusive at all, as a descriptor for people of African descent, particularly of sub saharan Africa.
Brown skin, in modern context, describes people of Asian descent such as Indians. Neither of these colour appellation claims to categorize every member of the racial group they describe. [s]Black is a spectrum of colours, and not only "charcoal black" [/s]as you wrongly assume, which is perhaps the cause of your confusion.
Your other point about dark skin. Dark skin, black skin, po-tay-to, po-tah-to. What's in a name, my friend? Through history we have censored many racial slurs which were considered offensive, but [s]being described as a black person is something I proudly identify as[/s]. If you describe yourself as lighter skinned, that is simply an adjective that describes your colour relative to a darker member of the group. But this is one group nonetheless.
[s]We need to decolonise our minds. Be proud of whatever hue of black you are. [/s] Racism is not how you describe yourself, but how other people of a different culture may perceive you, often fueled by perhaps their existing bias and prejudice. But to bend over backwards and deny other of my racial group in the hope that I'll be accepted by a non black population is something you and me should never have to do. It reeks of inferiority.
I forbid such a mentality. It reeks of ignorance
For the selected in red, i am saying they have subjected you inferior and illegal and you cannot think clearly for yourself
