Please does anyone know why you can't pay your SEVIS fee with your Nigerian Debit MasterCard even though the website says MasterCard debit card can be used to pay SEVIS fee?

Due to using third parties card related to scam and other money laundering things but you won’t be told directly.

To all those that sent me pm for sevis fee and wants it urgent and I didn’t assist or get back to them due to high demand, FCY scarcity and increase in rate due to new policy by CBN on FCY and BDC taking advantage as usual please don’t be offended.

If you guys still need to pay the sevis fee or there are people here who still needs to pay sevis fee, just notify me via pm ASAP.

Yes I have been able to book an appointment with its however, logging in to my internet banking, I couldn't find any HISTORY of payment hence I couldnt a receipt .

You didn’t do it well but trust me it’s there. Go to airline and travels after logging through internet banking via www.gtbank.com then click US visa there and it load and show you

Please I have an issue with the receipt from gtbank, I paid my Visa Fee via the Gt Mobile app but I haven't gotten a receipt, the only receipt I have is the "Gtbank Online Transfer Advice" I will like to know if this is sufficient.

Go to the Internet banking of your GTBank then and go to the airline and travel section and click on pay visa fee USA and you will see where to print your receipt there which is different from the one you posted here.

My interview lasted about 10 minutes. Here we go:


The moment I entered the hall, I noticed that there were three VOs interviewing people at the counter, two females and one male. I realized immediately that the male was the guy who denied me last year and started praying that I should not come across him again. He had already denied about three to four persons right there in the hall. Unfortunately, I came across him again.

The moment I ed my port and i20 to him, he looked at me and said, "I denied you last year and sorry I cannot interview you this time." He then directed me to another VO, an elderly woman. I can't the window. Now the interview proper.

Me: Good morning ma

VO: Good morning, me your i-20 and port then place your hands on the scanner for the biometric capture.

Me: Okay ma. (I ed the documents to her and placed my hands on the scanner)

VO: Where are you going to?

Me: I am going to MSU, Starkvile, to pursue my PhD in Sociology with concentration in Criminology.

VO: I see. So, why this university?

Me: I settled for MSU because I was able to find a wonderful Prof. in the person of Professor XYZ who not only shares my research interest but believes in my abilities to excel at graduate school. For me, that's priceless. I also settled for MSU because the program is fully funded.

VO: I see that you've got full tuition waiver. Who's paying for the decifit?

Me: Please check ma, I do not have any deficit. The stipend from my assistantship covers my living expenses.

VO: Okay. Alright (kept typing into the system)

VO: What other school did you apply to?

Me: I also applied to Northeastern University, Boston, but I was not itted.

VO: Did you write GRE, if yes, your score? (I was asked this same question the last time by the male VO)

Me: 300

VO: Where do you work? (I asked the last time too)

Me:I work with XYZ, a Lagos based NGO

VO: Have you travelled out of the country before? (Was also asked the last time)

Me: No


VO: Sorry bla bla bla and hands me a green paper.
Me: (dumbfounded)



PS: Gurus in the house, Fairheart, Walspring, Chonco, and the rest what do you guys sense as the reason for my rejection? I'll appreciate your views because I intend to reapply. Thanks.

Have you deal with your village people before going ? Because why would you open your mouth as said other school didn’t grant you ission?

Am damn confused here because after you told VO that you settled for MSU and it looks as if you had more than 1 school who granted you ission? But you later mentioned another school and said the school didn’t grant you ission.

Anyway that’s just my own view and opinion.

Also I was able to get 2 external scholarships this fall. $5000 for aidsmemorial and $2500 yearly scholarship from the United Negro College Fund. The rest of the costs would be taken care of by my uncle.

Me: as I said I got a full ride scholarship, then when itting me, EWC put me in their honors program. Which means that I get to pick a professor in my major that I can carry out summer research with, I would be given priority access to research and internships and I would be assigned an excelling senior in my major that would Integrate me into the Edward waters college community.
V.O: I cannot issue you the visa at this moment, this letter would explain more.

I was so so surprised.

Bro look at the answers to WHY you choose the school ? You based it only on scholarship, I feel you should be telling VO the knowledge or what you will end up gaining in the school that other student gained. Do you get ?

I paid for GRE using my Paypal in August, earlier this month i also paid for my exam to be postponed using the same Paypal .

Am sure and in August it works fine before CBN brought up new policy again and lemme ask you have you tried last month or this month with your card because GTBank card has been deactivated on Paypal when I called and I was told that funny answer and some other banks too. While some banks haven’t deactivate their cards yet.

In addition few people send me email about doing payment that their card doesn’t work and I asked they to link with PayPal and they said the same to me but one said his card is working but has $100 monthly limit and he wanted to pay above $100

You guys can partake in the discounted offer for GRE and TOEFL organized by some benevolent guys on this group but they just wanted to be anonymous which I stand in gap to help make sure it goes on smoothly.

Please note that it’s all about your choice and not by force.

To all those that maybe be wondering why Walspring being quoted here and there

The main reason why I told people to post about their sevis payment and GRE/ TOEFL discounted offer registration which is organized by some benevolent guys on the thread is for those who needs assistance and are scared or afraid can be guided not to fall into wrong hands in order to assist and help them.

But many doesn’t understand it that way but thought maybe they do come and post it and thinking they are working for me indirectly so as to lure them inside trap or maybe I have multiple monikers. SMH

I have been on nairaland since 2013 if I am not wrong and a house hold name I have created, I don’t think I should spoil it just because of what won’t add values to my destiny.

I had the same issue, went to my centre to make enquiries. Apparently you will be allowed to use either of the following:
1. National ID card ( not the slip)
2. Driver’s License (Not the temporary)
3. In some cases permanent voters card.

I’ll advise you go to your exam centre to find out before your exam date.

It was written boldly on your test ticket that only valid means of ID for Nigerians is their international port.

Is likely a new development has come and they have revert back to other means of ID card

I'm trying to pay for the css profile using a sterling ATM card, it's a verve Card, not MasterCard or VISA, on the website it's not bringing the option to use a verve Card, please is there any alternate way to make the css payment, I went to my bank to request for a MasterCard or visa they insisted that I must present a valid international port or visa before I can receive one.

I even tried if I can pay via PayPal but it's not possible.

Most banks have deactivated their Naira card to be used via PayPal. Although some banks still allows it.
