Federal High Court Clears Way for Natasha's Recall Process, Gives INEC Go-Ahead To Perform Its Constitutional Duty In a landmark judgement delivered in Lokoja, a Federal High Court has set aside an earlier ruling that restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from receiving the recall process initiated by constituents of Kogi Central Senatorial District against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. The court's decision, announced just a few minutes ago, affirms that the recall process is constitutionally valid and aligns with the civic rights of the constituents. The judge urged the constituents to continue exercising their rights in an orderly and peaceful manner, as they have done so far. This development is a significant step forward for the constituents, who had launched the recall process citing a vote of no confidence in Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan's representation. The recall process, guided by INEC's constitutional guidelines, may potentially lead to the senator's removal from office before the end of her term. https://www.visblog.ng/2025/03/federal-high-court-clears-way-for.html

Leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) converged at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja for its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting. The venue on Blantyre Street was heavily secured, with armed personnel—including soldiers from the Guards Brigade—cordoning off all access routes. Vehicular and pedestrian movements were strictly controlled, and journalists were kept at bay despite an earlier release of an accredited media list by party spokesman Felix Morka. Early arrivals included every member of the National Working Committee and the Forum of State Chairmen, alongside prominent figures such as former Zamfara governor Abdulaziz Yari, Minister of Budget and National Planning Atiku Bagudu, and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu. Numerous state governors were also in attendance, representing Edo, Benue, Ondo, Ekiti, Kaduna, Jigawa, Nasarawa, Yobe, Niger, Lagos, Kogi, Ogun, and Imo states, in addition to a deputy governor from Ebonyi and former governors from Kogi, Kebbi, Niger, Zamfara, and Plateau. Notably, former President Muhammadu Buhari, ex-Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and former Rivers Governor and ex-Minister of Transport Rotimi Amaechi were absent from the proceedings. At noon, party leader President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shetimma, Senate President Goodwill Akpabio, and Speaker Tajudeen Abbas arrived, with the meeting being presided over by APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje. This NEC gathering—the first since Tinubu assumed office in May 2023—followed the national caucus meeting held at the Presidential Villa a day earlier. Amidst the tight security and high-profile attendance, some APC chieftains, including El-Rufai and former National Vice Chairman Salihu Lukman, have voiced concerns over the party’s internal democracy, hinting at simmering tensions within the ruling party. https://www.visblog.ng/2025/02/buhari-el-rufai-and-amaechi-missing-as.html

Release freak-off tapes to the public - Diddy tells court Sean “Diddy” Combs has formally requested that Judge Arun Subramanian permit the public release of a series of videos, colloquially referred to as “freak offs.” Combs’ legal team asserts that these videos will unequivocally establish their client’s innocence. According to Daily Mail, Combs’ lawyers have submitted a letter to Judge Subramanian, requesting that prosecutors produce the nine videos in question. These videos have been described by prosecutors as “elaborate and produced sex performances” orchestrated by Combs. However, Combs’ lawyers contend that the videos demonstrate “private sexual activity” between Combs and his former partner, Cassie Ventura. Prosecutors had initially declined to release the videos, citing Ventura’s attorney’s request to protect her privacy. As a result, Combs’ lawyers were only granted supervised access to the videos in November and December. The defense team is now seeking unfettered access to the videos, which they deem essential in preparing their client’s defense. The videos, according to Combs’ lawyers, unequivocally demonstrate Ventura’s enthusiastic consent and participation in the recorded activities. The filing states: ‘These videos unambiguously show that the person alleged in the indictment not only consented by thoroughly enjoyed herself. ‘The recordings also directly refute the allegations that Mr. Combs kept these videos as “collateral”. ‘These recordings were not on Mr. Combs’ devices and were not seized from his homes. https://www.visblog.ng/2025/01/release-freak-off-tapes-to-public-diddy.html 2 Likes 2 Shares |

CBN: 1000 Exit Staff were voluntary - Cardoso Olayemi Cardoso, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), said the 1,000 staff who left the bank were not forced to leave. Cardoso spoke on Friday at the resumed house of representatives investigative hearing on the disengagement of the 1,000 workers by CBN. On December 4, 2024, the apex bank said its early exit package (EEP) was entirely voluntary and without any negative repercussions for eligible staff. CBN’s statement followed reports that 1,000 staff were sacked from the apex bank. Reacting to the development, the house of representatives asked the CBN to suspend the “planned” retirement of 1,000 staff. The lower chamber had also set up an ad hoc committee to investigate the “process and legality” of the exercise. However, on Friday at the resumption of the investigative hearing, the CBN governor said the 1,000 of staff were not forced to quit. Cardoso, who was represented by Bala Bello, CBN’s deputy director of corporate service, also said the early exit programme, the restructuring and reorganisation was to optimise the bank for enhanced efficiency. “They are basically ways and means through which the performance of an organisation is optimised by putting, ensuring that round pegs are put in right holes,” Cardoso said. “The manpower requirement of the bank is actually met. “I’m very happy to mention, Mr. Chairman and of the committee, that the early exit program of the central bank is 100 percent voluntary. “I believe several organisations across the world, and even within this country, both in the private sector and the public sector, are undertaking similar exercises. So nobody has been asked to leave. With a lot of humility, I will tell you that this same program that is taking place is not at the instance of the bank.” ‘CBN FACED WITH SEVERAL CHALLENGES, INCLUDING LACK OF CAREER GROWTH’ Cardoso said CBN had been faced with several challenges. The overall best-graduating student in the 2023/2024 academic session of Wesley University, Ondo, Miss Ifeoluwa Mercy Adeyemi, has shared the reasons behind her remarkable achievement. In an interview during the institution’s 13th convocation ceremony in Ondo town, Adeyemi revealed that she intentionally chose not to have a boyfriend throughout her four-year course to avoid distractions. The 19-year-old, who graduated with a degree in microbiology, achieved a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.97. According to her, having a boyfriend during her undergraduate studies would have detracted from her academic focus. She stated that her primary motivation was to make her parents proud during her academic journey. “Well, I had actually discussed this matter with several other people, and they told me that it depends on your own perspective”, she narrated. “But for me, I see it as a distraction because I cannot divide my mind. “A boyfriend might be demanding my attention, which would prevent me from putting my total effort into my books”. Adeyemi emphasized that although she had no intention of having a boyfriend at the moment, she was open to the idea at the right time. Her drive to please her parents played a significant role in her success. “At first, I have parents that I cannot disappoint. So this is one thing that keeps coming to my mind. Anytime I found distractions, I would remind myself: your parents are out there, and you need to make them proud,” she said. Additionally, Adeyemi expressed her ambition to make an impact in the health sector Credit: Vanguard https://www.visblog.ng/2024/12/best-graduatinwhy-i-didnt-have.html 1 Share |

Rivers State: You don’t have capacity to bring down military aircraft – Army tells Asari Dokubo Rivers State: You don’t have capacity to bring down military aircraft – Army tells Asari Dokubo The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has responded to a viral video featuring ex-Niger Delta militant, Asari Dokubo, who claimed he had the capacity to bring down military aircraft allegedly hovering over his house during the recent Rivers State local government elections. Dokubo implied that the aircraft were attempting to intimidate him due to his for the elections, stating, “The federal government knows that I have the capacity to bring down any aircraft.” In response, Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, dismissed Dokubo’s claim as “laughable,” asserting that Dokubo was merely “blabbing” and lacked the capability to challenge the military or bring down its aircraft. Buba added that various security agencies use aircraft and helicopters for national security operations and emphasized the military’s adherence to professional standards within the bounds of democracy. He also noted that it is up to relevant authorities to address such statements. Addressing unrelated reports of 13 repentant Boko Haram terrorists escaping from a rehabilitation camp with rifles, Buba clarified that the military is not responsible for the Deradicalization, Rehabilitation, and Reintegration (DRRR) program. He assured that steps are being taken to ensure the program remains effective. On recent operations against terrorists and bandits in the North West, Buba highlighted the military’s efforts, revealing that over 300 terrorist commanders were neutralized in the last quarter. He mentioned that the military has revised its approach in the region to replicate the successes seen in the North East, with some wanted terrorist commanders now expressing intentions to surrender under the new “Operation Fasan Yamma.” https://www.visblog.ng/2024/10/rivers-state-you-dont-have-capacity-to.html

You Didn't The Poor When You Fixed Your Children In CBN, NNPC, Other Juicy Agencies— Presidency Slams Ndume For Criticizing Tinubu's Govt. The President Bola Tinubu-led istration has fired back at Senate Chief Whip Ali Ndume following his criticism that the "Tinubu government is run by incompetent persons." In a sharp rebuttal, Tinubu's media and public affairs aide, Tope Ajayi, lashed out at Ndume, accusing him of prioritizing personal interests and being a "loose cannon and careless talker." During an interview on Arise TV on Friday, Ndume claimed that the country was being led by individuals unfit to govern, who prioritize their own interests over the nation's well-being. Ajayi, responding via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, criticized Ndume's reputation and introspection, stating, “His capacity for introspection is too low." Ajayi further alleged that Ndume's criticism stemmed from personal grievances, adding, “People like him only the poor and the fact that 'Nigerians are suffering' when their personal agenda and indulgences can't be met.” He accused Ndume of hypocrisy, noting, “Senator Ndume does not the poor and their children when it is time to fix his own children into CBN, NNPC, and other choice MDAs and state-owned enterprises.” Ajayi also defended President Tinubu against Ndume's claims of being out of touch with Nigerians, asserting, “This President is well aware and fully abreast of the current material conditions of Nigerians and he is working very hard to deal with the challenges.” He acknowledged ongoing economic challenges but insisted that improvements are on the horizon, stating, “The economy is still facing headwinds but things are gradually turning in the positive direction. A President that gets daily briefings from his team, receives cross-sections of Nigerians from all strata of the society almost every day - from business leaders to religious leaders, socio-cultural groups, and professional groups - can't be falsely accused of being removed from the realities of the people.” Bayo Onanuga, another aide to the President, also retweeted Ajayi’s post. https://www.visblog.ng/2024/07/you-didnt--poor-when-you-fixed.html 2 Likes |

She said; "You see this Yul Edochie ehnnn, 99% of people abusing him are from second wives, third wives, fourth wives and fifth wives. Sometimes wife that the family doesn’t know about. Let us stop being silly on the internet. I don’t see anything he has done wrong. I no dey go tear me to pieces when this interview gets ed. Why are you guys cursing him and making Regina Daniels your prayer point, only she fit advise you for marriage?" https://www.visblog.ng/2024/06/why-are-you-guys-cursing-him-and-making.html

Tariff Increase: Tribunal fines Multichoice 150 million for disobeying orders restraining DSTV, GOTV prices hike. The Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal has fined the prominent Pay - TV operator, Multichoice Nigeria, owners of DSTV, GOTV, N150 million for disputing the court's jurisdiction, and ordered the company to provide Nigerians with a one-month free subscription to its DStv and GOTV Packages. A three-man led by Thomas Okusu, gave the verdict on Friday. The tribunal had previously blocked Multichoice from raising subscription fees without proper notice, based on a lawsuit by Barrister Festus Onifade who claimed the 8-day notice given for the price increase was inadequate. Mister Onifade had sued DStv, accusing the Pay -TV of unjustly increasing subscription fees without one month notice to customers and leveraging on it to seek interim orders. Counsel for Multichoice had contended that previous rulings had settled price regulation issues, while Onifade focused on the inadequate notice rather than the price hike itself, prompting the tribunal to affirm its jurisdiction and rule against Multichoice. The subsequently court fixed July 3 for hearing of the substantive suit of the Plaintiff. https://www.visblog.ng/2024/06/tariff-increase-tribunal-fines.html
